Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups (2 Viewers)

I like folks posting Robert Woods...he is a decent WR5 on your roster right now with a few spot bye week starts. I think he could develop into more. Buffalo is winning some games, their confidence is getting stronger, I like what I am seeing there.
Agreed,Manuel is looking his way a ton.

agreed. Just might sneak into the most relevant FF rookie WR.

I underrated his YAC ability. Very physical. Shades of Brandon Marshall. EJ also seems to be dinking an dunking a lot and Woods fits into that checkdown role.

Rashad Jennings is a safe pick up

I am also intrigued by Jerome Simpson. The "fool me once..." dilemma is definitely there, but new starting qb Cassel looked his way the entire game. Matt Cassel gives Simpson a chance to become consistent.
Right there with you - I've learned over the years in fantasy sports that admitting something could be real despite past results is a key component to finding the random breakouts. Best example that comes to mind is in baseball (Jose Bautista sucked for years in Pittsburgh and then exploded in Toronto), but we've seen it in football as well - Benson, Thomas Jones, etc.

Simpson's intriguing...

Heath Miller is available in probably 1/3 of leagues. He had a quiet first week back in week 3 but was a nice 6 for 70 yesterday. Finished as TE4 last year.

What's the deal with Nate Washington ? He's sitting on my WW, but tbh, I don't know anything about him - is he the main WR in Tennessee right now ?

Any thoughts on Kerley for next week? Holmes with a hamstring injury and Hill with a Concussion.

Looking for a 1 week replacement due to a BYE for Antonio Brown and Austin out.

He is a solid NFL player, has had hot streaks in FF before.

Not sure what the impact on Nate the QB injury will have, but his long TD came with Fitzpat in there.

The team is sick of Britt, so I expect Nate to be on the field alot

I been chasing Eddie Royal points, so now Im chasing Nate washington points, sigh

Ryan Broyles...yeah.

Jump on him now that he intentionally kept under the radar this week. So low you need a metal detector to find him.

Andre ellington. Only a matter of time
Perhaps, although Arians appears loyal to Mendenhall for now. Another game like yesterday by Mendenhall though, and Ellington may get much more playing time.

see HC Bruce Arians comments yesterday (maybe today's presser) about Mendenhalls missing practice has to stop with that many mistakes/lack of production in the games ...sounds like he is already thinking about changing the rotation of RBs

The comments you mentioned are in that nfl.com link I posted.

Thanks for the reply, very helpful

Alshon Jeffery >Robert Woods???

Looking for a WR grab in a 0.5pt PPR...Who would be better between these two??

I dont see anyone Im wasting my #1 WW priority on. I had #3 last week and using this same strategy worked like a charm. People use their waivers on Santonio, Bolden, Hill, Sidney Rice, Tannehill and I passed and picked up Jeffery for free. Same thing this week, and I'll drop Hillman for Woods or Rashad Jennings if they clear waivers.

Im also definitely holding on to Ellington. Id definitely grab him if he's on your WW. Seems like him starting is only a matter of time.

writing is definitely on the wall...Arians fired a warning shot across Mendy's bow...next step is dropping him from the starters role. The last few weeks Ellington has been better and more explosive on a lot fewer touches....

If they're both out he'll be a good PPG play.

I think there are several WRs to consider this week in deeper leagues...

Jerome Simpson - Cassell targeted him heavily, Peterson keeps defenses honest, and Jennings isn't exactly AJ Green on the other side. Simpson's fully healthy this year after complaining of back problems last year. Stranger things have happened.

Jeremy Kerley - with Hill going through concussion protocol and Holmes banged up as well, Kerley could be the last man standing at WR for the Jets. Posted 4 for 65 last week with Geno missing him wide open on another easy 15 yarder (per game reports I read).

Ted Ginn - some will be hesitant here with good reason, but Carolina isn't just using Ginn down the field - he's being asked to run a lot of different routes and still getting deep shots down the field. Plus Cam seems to really like him. Return yardage an obvious plus for some.

Terrance Williams - played pretty well despite the late game fumble, for which he'll be the goat. Still. 7 for 71 and nearly tacked on a TD as well. I'd be surprised if Austin made it back this week (or next week for that matter) after being ruled out so quickly for week 4.

Alshon Jeffery - doubt he's out there for the majority, but he's an obvious grab if he somehow was on your wire.

Michael Crabtree should be available... he should be coming back after week 6.

Kaep's favorite target last year was crabtree; he'll be dominating once he return. Get him now before everyone's reminded...

Valuable lesson learned for the 999th time this week - don't trust a wr until he show syou somehting on the field. I drank the koolaid when Burleson went down. I am an idiot. Check back next week when I fall for another unproven idiot.

I don't know where you got the Week 6 other than that is the minimum a player has to stay on the IR-return list

The team doesn't expect him back until Week 11 and that is IF he can return this year

Mike Goodson flying under the radar for the Jets. He's got more pure ability than Powell, and Ivory is banged up. There's also talk he could return kicks as well for those who care about such things.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Tom Crabtree (ankle) said he sees Week 6 as a realistic goal for his return from his high ankle sprain. Crabtree said he suffered a setback when he tweaked his ankle sprain.

Jonathan Franklin may still be out there on some waiver wires since Greenbay was on bye last week.
Jon Franklin is still floating out there in my WW.

Is he worth picking up w/ Lacy on the mend?
need to see the status of Starks and Lacy, the pack have had an extra week to prepare for DET so I expect alot of points for GB WRs and maybe running late in the game
Packers coach Mike McCarthy declared Eddie Lacy a "full go" following Monday's practice.
Lacy was a full participant, and it appears he's been medically cleared for Week 5 against the Lions. The Packers may involve fellow rookie Johnathan Franklin more moving forward, but only as the lesser half of a one-two punch. James Starks (knee) appears unlikely to play this week and was never a part of Green Bay's planned backfield. John Kuhn (hamstring) also remains on the shelf.

Eddie Lacy (concussion) participated "in all aspects" Monday's practice.
It was just an informal session ahead of Wednesday's official return to practice, but it's an excellent sign for Lacy's Week 5 prospects. With James Starks (knee) sitting out on Monday, Lacy could be immediately thrust back into bell-cow duties, though fellow rookie Johnathan Franklin showed well enough in Week 3 that he should get a look as a change-of-pace back.

Call it a hunch....but I think Nick Foles is going to get his shot with or without an injury to Vick. Kelly is going to want to see what Foles can do in this offense.

In the next few days, Nate Washington should no longer be on any waiver wires in any format.

I guarantee he won't be on any in my leagues.

Ace Sanders looks nice for dynasty. I have him in a few, 3 4 catches for 50-60 yards is fine for a rook to average especially one with his quicks.
Yes and no, had him and had to cut him in dynasty. I agree he has gotten some early targets and comes up on the radar. When Blackmon gets back he falls to 3 or 4 on the target list and he has no QB right now. You might have to hold him for 2-3 years in dynasty before you see any real return, some owners should, some shouldn't.
I agree some, but as a slot WR I think there's still some projected targets for him. As long as he continues to be involved, I'll hang onto him I suppose that's the way to roll here.

What's the deal with Nate Washington ? He's sitting on my WW, but tbh, I don't know anything about him - is he the main WR in Tennessee right now ?
Damian was the main WR yesterday.

Nate has been their best WR this year and got plenty of work last game. The bomb was sorely underthrown yet the DB didn't do a thing to stop it really. Nate mistakenly yet amusingly used the ref like a basketball screen and scored. Take that bomb with a grain of salt, but still he has been their best WR.

I was under the impression the Titans passing attack finally arrived and then Locker got hurt. Fitz looked so rusty there's not much to gauge on him from the second half.

Nate isn't available in any league I'm in after his stellar game a week or two ago. Whatever you look for in a WW WR I figure he's got it, so he's well worth a shot. I can't imagine there's any better (stat wise) on the WW. I mean you can't usually pickup a teams top WR in week 5.

Brown RB colts, he looked better then TRich
You're going to waste a WW pick on a guy that touched the ball 3 times last week, 5 this week (counting receptions)? You chase that 22ypc average! They didn't give up a #1 to Cleveland just to let the guy they have watched for 5 years have the ball. :shark:

How about Jonathan Stewart?

He's not available to come off the PUP until Week 7. But he was running sprints at practice today. Said to be looking good by the local Charlotte media.

Then again, even IF he's healthy, how much value does a RB in a Panthers RBBC really have?

Good info. I had completely forgotten about Stewart. On a short bench league, would you drop Bolden for Stewart or Harvin? I believe both are eligible to return in Week 7.

Danny Woodhead? He's unowned if both 12-team leagues I play in, so he could be worth picking up if he's available in yours.
He wont get 2 TDs every week, fluke. This was an anomaly in my opinion.
Likely, but coming into this week Woodhead was the most targeted RB over the past 2 weeks (17, tied with Charles). I'm assuming he was highly targeted today and a trend has established itself. He's very much a PPR flex option going forward.
Feel confident starting Woody. He's going to get plenty of targets out of the backfield and 5-6 draws out of the backfield.

Nate Washington, Austin Pettis and Jerome Simpson - Simpson might be an easy grab and stash since he is on bye this week.
Pettis is too far down the pecking order and their offense doesn't produce a lot for FF.

Coradelle is Simpson's backup and it's hard to make WDIS decisions with Simpson because of this.

Who is DMC's cuff?
Jennings

Couldend up being the best of this weeks RB adds
Have a hunch that the 11:35pm game is gonna put up a lot of points as most will be sleeping and unable to watch, to me, thats just how it works. Means good for Woodhead and Jennings this week.
