Is it time to start discussing picking up Crabtree or Harvin?
Could likely have been a product of Flynn. I'm not so sure Pryor would be dumping it off as often.Good WR options out there:
Greg Jennings, if available
Keenan Allen
Nate Washington
Woods
At RB:
Rashard Jennings could be great in that little dump off offense.
At K, take a look and see if Crosby didn't get dropped.
In 16-team leagues, Mario Manningham? Is it time to start discussing picking up Crabtree or Harvin?
Jamaal Charles, Priest Holmes, Early Campbell, and Ricky Williams come to mind. Unless you were being sarcastic, in which case it went over my head.Ha, yeah, what backs ever come out of UT.... pfft.Shall I start the hype train?fozzy whittaker?
Seriously though, I wasn't even aware the Browns had signed him yesterday so this is a situation to keep an eye on. Of course, as a UT alumnus I may be biased as to his potential.

As an OU fan, I was never impressed by Fozzy Whitaker. Then again, I was never impressed with Jamaal Charles either so there ya go.Jamaal Charles, Priest Holmes, Early Campbell, and Ricky Williams come to mind. fwiw, I am dropping Broyles for Washington, Blackmon or Woods - whichever falls to me. Drafted Broyles, dumped him in week 2, picked him up when Burleson went down and suffered through his one target no catch game. ANY of those is better than the no-legged Broyles.Well, I got Blackmon, Washington and Jeffery on the waiver wire.
Anybody think it's worth dropping Vincent Brown and/or Broyles to attain one of these guys? I'm in a standard scoring league but there are no bench spots and we have a limited number of moves we can make. I just picked up Broyles last week but that didn't help much.
Blackmon seems obvious but that team scares me. Washington just lost his QB. Jeffery has guys like Marshall and Forte taking away his catches but he has a high ceiling.
Tough call....
Yeah, I just put in the waiver claims. I'm dropping Broyles for either of those guys. I really just picked him up last week because I thought he could smoke the Bears secondary for a long touchdown or something but it didn't happen.fwiw, I am dropping Broyles for Washington, Blackmon or Woods - whichever falls to me. Harvin being on PUP makes him ineligible until after WK 6, correct? Gives us another 3 waiver cycles. Ideally now is the time to strike, but haven't heard much substantive info about his current status outside him rehabbing in NY.good looking out. I've been following any Harvin news closely and you're correct. The only recent news on him was that he is rehabbing in New York, and that a league source indicated that meant he was recovering "extremely well."Harvin being on PUP makes him ineligible until after WK 6, correct? I've been eyeing both Harvin and Vereen closely, but nervous about pulling the trigger.
My experience is that players coming back like Harvin or Vereen need 2-3 weeks to knock off rust. That means carrying them for 6 weeks -- in the middle of bye hell -- for a relative unknown in terms of how much they can/will contribute.
I may be reading to far into it, but I'd say those comments aren't great news. A return sooner rather than later would have brought about comments like "he will be in there as soon as the docs say he's ready". sounds like they are gonna err on the side of extreme caution, by those comments. we will see. doesn't hurt to stash him if you have room, then re-evaluate following week 6 when more info comes out though.I've been following any Harvin news closely and you're correct. Then in a radio interview today the Seahawks GM said this when asked about Harvin:
They will 'evaluate' Harvin once he is eligible to come off the PUP list following the Tennessee game on Oct. 13. Schneider reiterated what Pete Carroll said last week, that Harvin has been rehabbing both in Seattle and in New York with the doctors who did the surgery. He said they will be careful not to rush Harvin back, saying everybody will do the right thing. ... just want to make sure he is completely right before we expose him to anything that would make him any worse." I think this week or next is the time to buy in most cases, and people should have a general idea what other owners in their league would tend to make a preemptive pickup like this and beat them if they can.
I don't think you're reading too far into it. In fact, I think you're spot on. I'd say the odds are against him coming back week 7, but regardless that will be the week everyone, including the media, will be eying and speculating about for some time before it actually comes. Therefore, you have to keep that in mind as far as preemptively picking him up.I may be reading to far into it, but I'd say those comments aren't great news. Dumped Bernard Pierce for Harvin; but with marshall, cruz as my starting WRs and Gordon as flex, I'll likely trade him if someone comes calling.Chaser1439 said:good looking out. Jennings is available in my league. I'm really regretting not reading the tea leaves and seeing that Cassel would be vastly better for Jennings than Ponder.G. Jennings - might be out there in a few leagues
Same with Simpson. 11 Targets last week with Cassel. 32 total. Patterson seems to be a non factorJennings is available in my league. After watching the Seahawks face the Texans I am not so sure they can afford to wait on Harvin. They need a difference maker on offense now and the sooner the better.Stompin said:Harvin being on PUP makes him ineligible until after WK 6, correct? Gives us another 3 waiver cycles. Not to mention in Harvin's case, that he's still on a brand new team. I have him stashed in a couple leagues but it's far from a foregone conclusion that they will just plug him in and he'll be Superman.Stompin said:Harvin being on PUP makes him ineligible until after WK 6, correct? I picked up Harvin a few weeks ago. I will stash him on my bench as long as it takes. One of the top 5 players in the league imo.Not to mention in Harvin's case, that he's still on a brand new team.
