Week 5 Waiver Wire Pickups (1 Viewer)

This thread is indicative of this whole forum lately. About 1/2 of you make honest advice, and about 1/2 of you are just here to make C-mike jokes and sarcastic, crap comments.

It's getting really hard to actually get useful information out of a lot of it, especially if you aren't one of those people who can afford to watch every game on Sunday and see how everyone did.
Cmike is a valid target. Donebar is out, and the other two backs are struggling.

Joe B. made a really good point in the daily email today regarding the possibility of the Bears entertaining trade offers for Forte to pick up Jeremy Langford as a prospective pick up. Could be a steal if a trade is made, or droppable otherwise. A lot less cloudy of a picture than the CMike backfield in terms of where I would rank the two from a WW priority perspective.

Good article. Acquiring Forte would put Denver over the top as the Super Bowl favorite. its the only piece they are missing right now.

Missing a QB and an OLine too.

How about one from left field????

Derek Carrier Washington TE...decent % of snaps through the year, ex-WR small college player with speed (4.5 40), Washington seems to feature TE in their scheme, and the biggest factor is Mr. Jordan Reed is a walking infirmary with Carrier as the #2 TE.

I'm already thin at WR, so if Stevie Johnson misses time the only non-bye week WRs on my roster will be AJ Green and Snead. Here's my preliminary waiver priority for filling my WR/TE flex spot (order definitely subject to change):

  1. Aiken
  2. Crowder
  3. Gilmore (assuming he's healthy)
  4. Austin
  5. Montgomery
Barnidge is still available, and he would be 1 or 2 if not for the fact that he's facing Baltimore next week, and they're typically very good against TEs.

What they have is serviceable..

Never really thought of that but that's a great idea. Don't have the roster space though or else I'd be after him.

You're absolutely nuts if you think Vegas or any book would put Denver as SB favourites over New England if they got Forte.

Lol put down the pipe.

Going deep: if Stevie Johnson and Malcolm Floyd both miss time with their injuries, take a look at Dontrelle Inman. Speed guy who mostly plays special teams, but could be the #2 WR if you're desperate. Gates coming back minimizes upside there, but hey, in some deep leagues, that's the best you'll get.

Ty Montgomery continuing to emerge for Green Bay. Using him out of the back field ala Harvin.
After the draft one scout called him a bigger Cobb so think that was the plan. They like him on bubble screens and as a RB/WR getting YAC.
He dropped 3 passes today, including an 80 yard TD on the 1st play of the game.
I'm watching the game recap right now, and to me, Rodgers didn't really look sharp in the first half. The throw to Montgomery should have been caught, but it was just a tad in front of him and lacked the kind of trajectory I'm used to seeing from Rodgers's deep ball. He missed a throw in a very similar way to R. Rodgers early in the 2nd quarter.

Also keep in mind that Rodgers didn't neglect Adams last year when he had a case of the drops. He's going to throw it to whoever is open. At this point, Montgomery seems like a solid depth pickup with the potential to crack your lineup.

I agree with theplayer11. Anyone thinking a RB is the only missing piece to make Denver a superbowl favorite is missing something. That offensive line hsn't been very good. Their TE spot isn't very good either. I think the could also improve their secondary as well. Denver is a good team but if anyone is saying the only thing they are missing is a RB upgrade they must be smoking something in the mile high city.

Interesting - in a bind at TE with Reed out and not going to get Barnidge. Any insight on Carrier

Source: #Colts sign RB Ahmad Bradshaw after visiting & trying out with team today. #NFL

havent seen any other mention
Ha, incredible.
Actually, not credible.
Hmm.. what the dilly here?
The Colts are working out Bradshaw. Every team does that on Tuesdays; it's called keeping the emergency signing list fresh.

The Colts GM told the beat writers "routine, nothing to see here."

Doug Moore - credentials unknown, he did write a couple articles for FF Today this spring - jumped to a conclusion and tweeted a fabricated signing. Somebody posted the tweet in several threads.

I pointed out no other news source was reporting Bradshaw signed with the Colts.

Haven't they worked him out already this year? Maybe his foot isn't healed and they're checking up on it? Seems kinda weird, I feel like he has been there 3 or 4 times?

Need a bye week play for RB this week

Looking at Andre Williams or Charles Sims?

Roy Helu kinda peaked my interested with them benching Murray last week..

Any thoughts?

Any word on these trade rumors? Langford would be a huge move

Kenny Stills was dumped prior to kickoff in all my leagues. Going into the bye week, should be picked up fairly cheap, no? 5/81/1/8 and new management has to be some reason for optimism, or no?

Charles Clay is available in my league. Should I drop Eifert for him as a potential upgrade? Dude seemed like their WR1 last weekend whereas Eifert is in a crowd

There are two problems for Duke. One is that he plays for Cleveland and the second is that Robert Turbin will be joining the cast of Cleveland RB's in a couple of weeks further muddling the situation there.
I have the choice of Spiller or Duke, leaning towards Spiller.

Some of that was probably Watkins' absence though. I'd probably try to roster both, if you could.
