Week 5 ww pickups (3 Viewers)

Gallman looked much better than those other guys. I would still look to have Gallman on my roster if I felt I needed backup material/bye week filler at that position.
Yeah gallman is more of a long-term add.  I wouldn't play him this week

Didn't see much mention of Tyler Kroft in here. One week mirage or worth a look for those in a TE pinch i.e. about 3 quarters of most leagues?
I added him in one league. I've noticed the Browns are quite the outlier for a few players' best games but I though he looked the part before that. Eifert needs to not come back until he is totally healthy.

Someone dropped Newton in my league. Do you guys like him better than Watson? I feel like I still like Watson better.

I feel like this might be a stupid question, but in 1ppr drop Buck Allen for Collins? I've already got a few receiving backs - Mccaffrey, Ellington, Duke (lost DJ but have him on IR), so even though guys like Mckinnon & Prosise (riddick & gio actually available too) are still on waivers i was thinking pick up a rb who is more likely to get the majority of carries. I also have Ingram & AP, I know I should probably drop AP but holding out hope on him getting traded like a dumb ####, most likely

Without any thought, I'd prefer Watson for upside.  At least has targets to throw to, balanced attack to keep defenses honest, and can still get rushing scores.  Assuming you're looking for a 2nd QB

I think a lot of people are pumping up Watson too much because of one big game.

Maybe he is better than Newton but I'd like to see him do it more than once.

I don't think Watson is better than Cam, but I think he is in an easier division. I think the NFC South is harder than the AFC South.

He's had two big games and a third where he did nothing and still put up 20 points

Also won Funchess for 25% because I was desperate for wr and regretted it after with both Jaron Brown and Humphries just sitting there for free. Oh well, hope he's not a fluke.

I picked up funchess after week 2 & haven't looked back. I think he's a rock solid high end wr3/flex every week until olsen comes back. My only concern is what his targets look like when olsen is actually back, but by that time funchess may have likely created enough trust with cam & a big enough role in the offense where he doesn't fall off much

Got Watson on both leagues I put claims in for him; 1 was low priority claim, the other was for $38 of my $200 FAAB budget (have Ryan in bye this week).

Missed on Gallman, A. Jones, & L. Murray was already owned.

McGuire is still out there though. Not to get too "my team" here, but I think there's likely a lot of others in a similar situation. How would you guys rank McGuire vs. the other RB/WR lotto tickets:

  • Collins
  • Foreman
  • Kupp
  • Corey Davis
  • Kamara
Currently, I think I'd rank it as:

  1. Kamara
  2. Collins
  3. Foreman
  4. Kupp
  5. McGuire
  6. Davis (flip flop with McGuire in keeper/ Dynasty)
1) I like this analysis in regards to redraft....but...

2) Corey Davis deserves to be at the top of this list, in regards to Dynasty, by a mile, imo.

3) To be fair though, in PPR, Kamara may be within a half mile of Davis...maybe.

:)

You may be right in my Dynasty ranking of Corey Davis. I may be somewhat jaded by the start of the season early "out" status each week. The talent is there for sure, but i sure would like to see at least a couple healthy starts first.

This might sound dumb but I noticed on Funchess' second TD that Benjmain didn't look too happy. When he noticed that the ball wasn't coming his way he just stopped running his route, watched and didn't even celebrate the score. It looked odd to me, like KB is pissed that he may not be "the guy" anymore.

Understood my man...

....but give it time, imo. ;)

Hammy injuries on the level Corey has are not career killers. The fact that he did what he did in week 1 with essentially no training camp time, bode very well for him, imo.

Of course, I could be wrong....

...it has happened before.  :D

Nice info, SSND. As someone who owned Benjamin last yr, he was pretty disappointing, and I wasn't all that high on him to start. Maybe that's also why I'm high on funchess, bc I don't really see KB as much of a roadblock. Seems like KB is also turning into more of their deep threat & funchess the possession & RZ receiver

Eta: with the latter meaning funchess is the better ppr option & td threat

If i'm being perfectly honest, i'm really trying to talk myself into picking up McGuire. My end-of-bench guys are DMC (cuff to Zeke), Conner (if anything happens to Bell he's at worst a mid-range RB2 IMO), Kupp, and Davis...all of which i'd have a tough time dropping for McGuire.

I love the kid's upside, but it's still the Jets and they still have Powell there too.

Granted, i haven't seen as much film on him as others though.

Don't get me wrong....I really like Kupp. I wish that I could have gotten him, but he did not fall to me in my rookie draft. :(

At present, Kupp offers more than Davis, imo. He is on the field and producing.

But, by season's end (playoff time)...who knows?

In the long run (multiple seasons), I expect Davis to tower above Kupp, but that is not a knock on Kupp, imo.

In regards to McGuire, tho...he as looked nice....but I still value Davis way over him in dynasty formats.

My friend, this is not a "you might be right" type of scenario. This is a "whoops, I got that totally backwards!" scenario.

Corey Davis is a super premium dynasty asset. Ranking Alex Collins above him is honestly about an equal mistake as appraising a 1987 Ford Escort as more valuable than a mint Lamborghini :)

I'm not pointing this out to be rude, I point it out because if you're playing dynasty DON'T miss your chance to get Corey Davis!

Ugg.... just missed both of my main targets.

Dynasty- A. Jones bid 33%, went for 35%

Redraft- Watson bid 35%, went for 37%

Oh well, at least I previously picked up Gallman & Collins for nothing and already had Lacy in dynasty

This is a lot to infer from a single game against the worst pass defense in the NFL.

How was Watson available? Was 2nd/3rd rounder in all my drafts. 10 teamer?

Picked up A Ellington to play this weekend... still deciding between Gallman & McGuire for a speculative play.

Kelvin had over 100 yards receiving in the game. He is playing with a hurt knee, and he was probably thinking he can't wait until the game is over so he can sit down and relax.

Exact same for Ty Mont and Jamaal Williams re: Aaron Jones.  They are practicing.
Now maybe Ty Mont didn't practice on Thursday?

Ty Montgomery (ribs) was not seen at the early portion of Thursday's practice.

Montgomery put in a limited practice on Wednesday and was expected to do the same on Thursday, though he was nowhere to be found during individual drills. A DNP Thursday would not be a good omen for Montgomery's Week 5 status. Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams would share the load if TyMont can't go Sunday against Dallas

This has been a pretty interesting week for RBs, the names continue to pile up: LMurray, McKinnon, Collins, Gallman, Rawls, Lacy, McKissic, Ekeler, AJones, JWilliams, Kamara, Ellington, Clement, McFadden, Morris... a dozen+ RBs who might be emerging in one way or another.

Odds are most of those RBs do nothing.   Tough to figure.
