Week 8 - What Did We Learn? (1 Viewer)

I was almost universally panned when I gave:

Patriots D + 2016 1st rounder

for

Broncos D (already owned Rams D)

Now, they are tracking as the 3rd overall scorer in PPG (6th overall despite the bye) in that league. Just like when I traded for them. The fact that this league is all-play just magnifies the advantage. The Rams (mine too #####es) are the only other Defense in the Top 50 in scoring. Which basically means that I have a built in 10-15 point advantage over every other team right out of the gate. I'm just waiting for one of these guys to come knocking for the Rams.

Wow, no wonder they call you saberTool.

honest question

do you think anyone on this board actually cares?

That next year the 1st round is going to be Gurley, a bunch of WRs, and Gronk.

Look at the leaders so far at RB: Freeman, Ingram, Chris Johnson, Doug Martin, Ivory, Dion Lewis, Woodhead. No reason to take RBs early when so many mid to late round guys are having solid years.

Meanwhile, WR continues to have the most consistency among the top drafted guys. And as always, Gronk is Gronk.
That is true THIS year, but doesn't necessarily mean anything in 2016. There have been plenty of years when you draft the known stud RBs and you sit back and cash in, waiting for the playoffs. This might (I don't know) just be an outlier year because for the past 4-5 years, those who have had Rice, Peterson, Charles, Forte, and the likes have done very well in FF.

Hard to believe but if the Colts lose tonight - your Houston Texans are tied for the division lead.
Very possible the AFC South leader (s) will be 3-7 after week 11.

7-9 and hosting a playoff game? We can't have that. Oh wait. We did...just a few years ago when the NOBODY Seahawks had no business in the playoffs and the Saints came to town to pick up their trophy they planned to engrave a few weeks later. That game was pretty much the catalyst of the current Seahawks success.

Just reminiscing there a bit to remind myself of how funny this game is and how things change quickly.

Raiders are a good football team. They finally have a good QB with good weapons around him. And their defense has been decent enough (they're good against the rush, but a little weak vs. the pass which has cost them.)

7-9? No way the AFC South winner will be 7-9.

Probably 6-10. Possibly 5-11.

Mathematically could still be 4-12.

Run It Up said:
Looking like the Pats will be getting the pleasure of smashing the Broncos face in.
Let's see....Denver's defense has more sacks, more forced fumbles and more interceptions on defense. I think there will be some face smashing, but it'll probably be more the Pats with the indentations in the facial area.
