Week 8 WW Pickups (1 Viewer)

I'm targeting Jake Locker available in my 10redraft - Out of need with Vick/Foles garbage (not excided about the DJax injury) and the loss of Bradford. After the bye this coming week they have Rams, Jags, colts, Raiders, Colts, Broncos, Cards and Jags if I get to the SB. I'll take that QB schedule anyday...

DJax injury? What did I miss?

he had his ankle stepped on, missed a few plays and came back in

I thought he hurt himself late in the Dallas game. Maybe I'm mistaken. No source or anything but...

Ah, thanks to the above poster...

RB - Mike James ( starting RBs are always worthsomething)

WR - Boykins, Harry Douglas

TE - Jordan Reed, Coby Fleener - these guys might not be out there but worth an add

Kendall Wright is available on my WW. What do people make of him ? Seems to be getting a lot of targets every week, anyone who is No1 for their team over the last three weeks in targets has to be worth something, and he is due a TD or two. Is his rise to prominence a Fitzpatrick thing ? Or could his value increase further when the better QB in Locker returns ?

Also, just noticing Titans schedule which is pretty nice

Nate Washington was the one to own before Locker got hurt and the schedule got really tuff. Both could have value along with the Defense and if desperate, TE Walker because of the schedule.

I wish Romo could reacquire his mojo from the waiver wire
What a useful post.

To add some content...

Mike Tolbert was already receiving short yardage attempts and a few pass targets, but he was much more involved today, getting 13 carries and looking better than Deangelo. I don't expect him to take the starting job, but he gets enough opportunities to be a solid bench RB for emergency situations.
Thanks may need him for a one-week play.

I would still go with Wright.

In the 2 games with Fitz at Q, Wright was the most trageted WR out of the slot other than R.Wayne. I think the Titans figured something out as Wright got 13 targets yesterday. Nate still got a lot of targets but I think Wright will continue to play a key role on the offense - which would probably be about 5 for 60 yards.

Jonathan Stewart perhaps?

Supposed to start practicing, Williams has looked mediocre, Tolbert is there to vulture the TDs Cam doesn't run in himself...wait, what was my point again?

I have 2nd waiver.... putting in Mike James then Ivory. I'm happy to burn my waiver priority to get one of the two.

Anybody else worried boykins will be a 2-3 week thing with James being back week 8 or 9?
Trade Botkins now to the highest bidder.... NOW !
Did Cobb perform with Jones and Jordy in the lineup? And now with Finley out as well? Boykin is gold the rest of the season.
Are you really comparing Cobb to Boykins?
I'm saying there's plenty of opportunity to go around in that offense with both Finley and Cobb out, and for however long, Jones as well.

Boykin is a different talent than Cobb. He's a big guy that can play outside, as well as moving around the formation. He's not as versatile as Cobb but he's still versatile. I now understand what Rodgers was saying at the beginning of the year when he said Boykin could be a big player for them. I think it's obvious that he is going to be a solid fantasy play the rest of the year.

As a Doug Martin owner, I am now down to only 1 healthy RB lol

How would you rank my priorty?

Helu - still getting number as a backup

Mike James - they just signed Rainey....who know if it becomes a RBBC out of nowhere

Ivory - got 34 carries on Sunday

1. Mike James. Steps in as the presumed feature back.

2. Chris Ivory. I am encouraged by Ivory's 100+ yard effort this week, but his injury history and the presence of Bilal Powell still give me pause.

3. Roy Helu. The 3-TD effort is likely an aberration. Those TDs will go to Alfred Morris (or RG3) most weeks.

Rodgers really likes this kid, thats all I need to know. Boykin is gonna be the next ww darling followed by James, who is talented, but lets face it... he wasnt gonna play unless Martin got hurt. Backups can shine in fantasy. I remember many backups at all positions who went on to have good years after injuries.

I kinda agree here, but can he do something with this opportunity?

I mean here is a guy who has been mediocre at best for his career...

In 10 team leagues I think he clears waivers in quite a few - I'm going to sit back with my 4th spot (which hopefully move to 1) and hope to grab him as a free agent.

Endelman and Cecil Shorts are on my waiver. Would you take them over the flavor of the week guys like Douglas, Boykin and Terrance Williams?

Good point, and I could see Helu having an increased role against Den. Not sure he will sustain that value going forward, however.

I think Boykin has huge potential - With no Finley or Cobb I think he can put out consistent WR2 numbers - If Jones doesn't play this week he could have another big day...

However, I'd put Shorts at the top of the list (especially with defenses now keying on Blackmon).

Going all in w/ the remainder of my FAAB ($20 left out of $100). Hopefully I'll land one but with all the injuries, and considering I have the least $$ in the league, it's a long shot...

For those closer to the situation, what's the odds Ivory holds onto the starting job (taking injuries out of the equation)?

  1. James
  2. Boykin
  3. Ivory

For those in deep/competitive lagues, Mike Brown of JAX is intiguing. Also, Cole Beasley of DAL. Miles Ausitn is done- stick a fork in him.
