Week 8 WW Pickups (1 Viewer)

Anybody else worried boykins will be a 2-3 week thing with James being back week 8 or 9?
Trade Botkins now to the highest bidder.... NOW !
Did Cobb perform with Jones and Jordy in the lineup? And now with Finley out as well? Boykin is gold the rest of the season.
Are you really comparing Cobb to Boykins?
I will- I watched the game.

In leagues with 2 QB starters, who is more valuable? McCown or Clemens?
Depends on your needs. Clemens will start the rest of the year, but he's a career backup (mostly as a third-stringer). McCown may only start 4 games, but at least he has some legit experience as a starter.

DHB for now

With a bye week coming up, I'd expect the Colts to act fast on getting someone in there if they're going to do so.
Not going to happen. It's very rare for a team to make a significant move to replace a starter midway through the season. (The Richardson trade was an extreme outlier.)They will promote from within and do the best they can with Darrius Heyward-Bey, LaVon Brazill, David Reed and Da'Rick Rogers.

Thinking about targeting Andre Brown this week. He is two weeks away from playing, and is not yet on alot of owners radar. The Giants are desperate for a running game, and he should get the chance to carry the ball. I am thinking this is the week to get him, as next week may be too late.

I think you're forgetting Hilton. IMHO he's the most talented WR left on the roster and should be the main beneficiary. DHB may actually be startable now though.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Zac Stacy. Coach just said he is a 3 down back. I believe he had 20 touches and scored 12 in ppr.

After Martin has gone down the RBs left on the WW will be flying off the shelf, James, Dunbar, Tanner, then... it does not take long to get to Brown.

I know it was asked in another thread, but are you guys holding Doug Martin yet, or dropping him in waiver moves tonight?

Loving this kid Jamaal Charles, RB for the Chiefs. No brainer pickup if he's been dropped in your league. :hawkscreech:

Have not heard anything about Jimmy Graham, but I like Kenny Stills as a sleeper in week 8 if Graham can't go. Home vs. Buffalo.
I agree, with or without Jimmy, especially if without, but in general I think we'll see the Saints get back to spreading it around more starting with the WRs Colston & Stills. Expect a couple shots deep to Stills near the end zone at least.

Like Stills long-term, but he's yet to catch more than 4 passes in a game, but do like that matchup and see potential with Graham possibly out. Looking for a pick up and plug-in flex type, but I'm not sure I see Brees forcing it Stills' way.

Exactly, perfect guy to target for a dollar if you're screwed with byes and the WW is picked clean of the obvious pickups. Brees is almost always good for a surprise 70 yard bomb to some scrub. If Graham is out or limited, it increases the chances of that happening.

Amendola since he's practicing today. I noticed he was dropped in my league about 2 weeks ago. If he can somehow stay on the field, there's definite value to be had.

Need a RB for this week to pair with Reggie Bush.

I've got Matt Forte on a bye, DeMarco Murray likely out, and Joique Bell on the bench.

Who do you like better for this week? Available RBs are Lance Dunbar (DAL), Peyton Hillis (NYG), or Mike James (TB)?

To be honest, I like the Donald Brown/Andre Brown pickups more than the Mike James pick up. Just see the TB backfield turning into a complete cluster and the only players with value being the qb and VJax.

Maybe your best bet is play bush and bell

Yep D.brown already looks better than trent, add in the possibility of a few more looks coming his way and I'm sold.

A.brown will be the clear cut rb for the Giants when he returns. He made Wilson ride the pine last year and will do so again if Wilson can come back this year. Scott, Cox, Jacobs and Hillis will be after thoughts once he returns. IMO 2 of those guys won't even be on the Giants roster at the end of November. Get Brown now before your leaguemates come to their senses!

Definitely Mike James. Fresh legs and pray that he has one good week and you can spin him for value - at the very least to the Martin owner. Starting non-rbbc backs are hard to find and he has the chance to be one. Gotta take a flier there!

As for Helu, I'm a huge Skins fan and he doesn't meet the above criteria. Plus he makes McFadden look like Lou Gehrig. Last weeks TDs were a fluke and should be viewed as an anomaly. Same McFadden/Gehrig analogy for Amendola - he is destined to make you hate watching injury reports. As a Rams season ticket holder I held my breathe EVERY time he caught the ball expecting him to get injured. The Patriots really rolled the dice on his signing and they are kicking themselves now. Staying on the Redskins wagon, if Reed is there he is another high profile target. The kid isn't much of a blocker but he definitely has a Cameron-esque ability to light it up if he gets the chance. A boom/bust player since RG3 spreads it around a lot, but to fill a TE need you could definitely do worse!
