Week 9 - Weather Forecasts/Concerns (1 Viewer)

I didn't see this thread anywhere.

Post weather concerns/updates here:

Rumor has it DEN vs. NE could be windy.

Others?

Its cold tonight but were supposed to get in the 50s tomorrow with some sunshine. Since daylight savings time is upon us make sure to be getting enough Vitamin D, especially for those of us that live in the north of the country.

I'm about 20 minutes from Foxboro. It's cold and drizzling a bit.

But that could change, since the game is 16 hours away.

wtf are you really in pats country?
Why do you think I hate them so much? Insufferable Pats fans since 2001 to the left and to the right.

This area was much more peaceful in the early 90s when they were winning 3 games a year and there were 100 people in the stadium.

I worked up there in Mansfield/Foxboro for a few months a while back and I know the bad weather can move in really quickly.

Awww, Raider come back to the :gang1: and join us :suds: , hate the other fans not the team. I am an MSU :grad: and I hate our fans, especially now  , but I still root for my Spartans!

Gusty wind here in Patriots country. Will be kind cold too with sunset earlier. Rai. Should not be a factor.

Let's go Peyton, shut these Pats fans up! They've gotten too far back off of the ledge of late. 3TD's to Demariyus!

I can't find much about the KC/NYJ game, other than accuweather's call for 30 mph wind gusts. That enough to scare anyone off of Alex Smith this week?

Wouldn't 30 mph gusts only help Smith? It could blow the ball back on target... ;)

. Isn't it more about sustained wind? I see 12mph wind in KC right now, unless its a steady 30mph I don't think its a factor, but that hard to tell until they take the field... Any KC homers in here?

It's more of a weather story when the wind isn't blowing.

This forecast for KC sounds like it could have an effect though:Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Breezy, with a south wind 17 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.

And NE:

A chance of rain, mainly before 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Breezy, with a northwest wind 21 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

ESPN just showed Foxboro and it's snowing like mad with wind. It's early still but it's worth monitoring.

So who would actually bench Payton Manning, Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Tom Brady, and Rob Gronkowski due to the blizzard like conditions today in Foxboro?

Assuming conditions are bad, would you think this helps the target count for Edelman or hinder him? I was already on the fence about playing him and now it's muddled even more.
I would have to think Edelman or Welker as slot receivers will be fine in those nasty conditions.

I'm sure this will surprise nobody: Seattle will be low to mid 50s and some rain. I haven't heard anything on wind and it isn't windy here (about 8 miles N of the stadium) but there has been some wind this week.

bump Vereen?
I'd think the opposite may be true, as if the Pats need to roll out a power run game to deal with the elements and keep Manning off the field, it could be a Jonas Gray week.

One caveat: anytime it seems one RB should be the go-to guy for the week for the Pats, it's the other guy. So if all signs point to Gray, then maybe indeed bump Vereen.

The shorter routes would seem to be more in demand but I do wonder if their shiftiness which gets them open would be limited.

I doubt the conditions will be that bad by 4:25 game time. The wind might still be whipping.

From what I've read, this is true... supposed to be cold and windy, but the snow is forecasted to be over by game time.

Well. TEs should get a lot of short passes in those conditions

This Foxboro panic is the media trying to make more of a story to a game that doesn't need it. The weather here is cold, windy and wet, but nothing I can see affecting a pro football game. The snow we had here earlier was flakes mixed with rain and nothing accumulated. Stop worrying before you make a roster move you wish you hadn't.

I was out doing some errands a couple of hours ago and while it's a little chilly and windy here (NYC area), I didn't feel like it was weather that should have a significant effect on a pro football game, except maybe kicking/punting.

Yes, the snow is supposed to change to a cold rain/drizzle.
