Weekly Waiver Wire and FAAB Discussion - Week 12 (6 Viewers)

This thread doesn't take into account whether redraft or dynasty. I know some of these guys are already rostered in dynasty. This list isn't ranked in any order.

Emanuel Wilson - Josh Jacobs suffered a knee injury. Waiting on more information. I would target Wilson over Sean Tucker. He may have more runway than Tucker has. Buckey Irving should be back in the next week or two. I suppose if you're desperate you could pick up Chris Brooks, but he probably won't get enough play to matter. Wilson has immediate RB2 value.

Sean Tucker - (see Wilson comments). Even with the blow up game he won't get the passing down work, so when Irving returns he may be irrlevant.

Mason Rudolph - Looks like Rodgers will be out at least 3 to 4 weeks with a left wrist injury (just my opinion). Was it fractured? Hairline? More severe? I'm hearing slight fracture, whatever that means. The Steelers WRs may be better off with Rudolph than Rodgers anyway.

Kirk Cousins - not a sexy pick up but Michael Penix reinjured his knee. Pending more information. IR?

Darnell Mooney (ribs) - Someone has to benefit with London out (PCL sprain) Seems definitely a multi-week injury. Mooney also is dealing with a rib injury.

Kenneth Gainwell - Jaylen Warren hurt his ankle, but has downplayed the injury. I wouldn't be surprised if he missed at least one game.

Shedeur Sanders - Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion and that almost always means missing at least one week. Having said that, it's hard to get excited about Sanders, even in SF leagues.

Malik Willis - Jordan Love hurt his shoulder but returned to the game. Stinger? Just keep an eye on him this week. Willis makes a good pickup if for some reason Love's injury is more serious.

Elic Ayomanor - Calvin Ridley brok his leg this week, so Ayomanor may need to step up his game. Also, Chimere Dike suffered a concussion. The Titans are getting thin at WR. Perhaps more work for the TE position.

Kimani Vidal injured his thigh this week. Omarion Hampton is eligible to return from injured reserve, but there have been no strong updates on his recovery from an ankle injury. So I wouldn't bother with anyone else.

Cardinals RBs - Emari Demercado left with an ankle injury. When will Benson return?

LeQuint Allen - Bhayshul Tuten left with an ankle injury. Still waiting on more information. This just means even more work for ETN. I can't imagine Allen is worth picking up.

Bhayshul Tuten - He hurt his ankle, but was efficient with his carries this week. So if his injury isn't serious he's still a pick up.

Terrance Ferguson - Tyler Higbee had an ankle injury. Not sure how serious yet, so Ferguson could be a sneaky add.

Michael Wilson - big day yesterday with Marvin Harrison Jr. out. May just be a mirage, but still worth a roster spot.

Christian Watson - With the injury to Jacobs the Packers may have to pass more than they like. Watson had a big game this week. I know, he's probably already rostered.

Chris Rodriguez - A week too late, but JCM / Bill is irrelevant. I'm still not that excited about Rodriguez, or that offense in general.

Juwan Johnson - I suppose he could be available coming off a bye week, but probably not. If he is, he should be rostered.

Isaiah Hodgins - 5 catches for 57 yards. Not someone I will target. He was signed off the Steelers practice squad for this past game. Slayton should return in week 12.

Devin Singletary - Worth a roster spot, but leaves a bad taste in your mouth if you have to start him. Just my opinion, as some may like him a lot more than I do. He gets the short yardage carreis (18 in the last two weeks).

Jacoby Brissett - You could do worse. Set a record yesterday with 47 completions. I'd rather have him than as lot of lower tiered QBs. Probably not available in SuperFlex.

Greg Dortch - Not someone that I would ever feel comfortable starting, but sometimes you are left with this kind of choice due to injuries and byes.

Jaleel McLaughlin - only 6 carries for 19 yards, but did get a TD. You would have to be pretty desperate to count on him for much.

Andrei Iosivas - Not due to injury, but Ja'Marr Chase spit on Ramsey and could cost him a one game suspension.

I'd lean Tucker over Wilson.. I think... I worry about the Green Bay offense as a whole and the share may be shrinking.

Then again, Baker doesn't look right to me. I just dont think we are gonna see Bucky until the playoffs at this point.

Cons of Tucker... he's had blow up days before and gone right back in the garage, the Bills running D stinks. So potential fools gold but I think this line is solid.

Wilson is coming into running weather though.

Don't forget that Tucker won't factor in the passing game, White will. So when Irving is back Tucker may do as you said, return to the garage. For this reason I like Wilson more than Tucker. He's less risky going forward and the Packers like to run the ball. Hopefully we hear news on Jacob's injury, but I suspect this is a multiple week injury.

The fact that Irving seems to be following the classic script of a player with a foot injury: "He'll be back soon ... maybe this week ... nope, not yet ..." makes me more willing to invest in Tucker. It still wouldn't shock me if in a week or two we learn that Irving is going to IR. But I certainly admit that it's a risky move that could totally blow up in your face.

Went to see if MWilson was available yesterday and realized that, in two of my leagues, not only was he taken, he was being started against me!

I"d definitely go Wilson over Tucker.

Could be a multi week injury for Jacobs and Wilson has looked great this year.

Not clear when Irving is coming back but he was at practice this week. And this week, all of the TB RBs will run into the LAR D. Not ideal. Could be more of a R. White game.

Jacob's injury deemed not serious, but probably a multi-week injury. For that reason alone I prefer Wilson. Both Wilson and Tucker may be irrelevant coming fantasy playoff time.

A. Iosivas

If Chase is getting suspended like many think he should.

Mitchell Tinsley. Iosivas is actually not very good. I could be totally wrong but Iosivas was broken down to me by a large language model and it was devastating. Would you like me to pull it? It is . . . unreal.

lol...Sure!

I’m having trouble loading old stuff but when I do . . . it’s brutal.

And I’m the guy who started the Yoshi thread in his first camp.

Can’t find it right now. I’ll PM you if I do. I wouldn’t listen to me. Yoshi has gotten targets from Flacco. I just can’t help but think in three WR sets that it’s Tinsley, but he is behind Yoshi (technically) on the depth chart.

Probably good for somewhat volume. Perhaps between 10 and 15 points. Maybe 18 to 20 if he scores.

Iosivas? I honestly don’t think so. Average the scores in the games Higgins missed last year. He doesn’t average ten, I’ll bet.

Someone has to catch the ball.

Could see Gonzo on Higgins. Iosivas may not be good but he could be a decent PPR scam for the needy.

Without Higgins, Iosivas scored 5.60, 14.70, 0.00, 0.00, 8.00

Averages 28.30/5 =5.66 pts./game

2024 Targets without Higgins 6, 4, 1, 3, 4 , which is 3.6 per game.

That was for Games 1, 2, 7, 8, 9

He got zeros not blanks in Wks 7&8, so he was active but I’ll check targets. Fuller picture. I rostered the dude and like him as a person. He’s an NFL receiver, but Burrow had ample opportunity to target him and only Flacco has (Browning).

In 2024, he had 61 targets in 18 games. 3.389 per game.

With Higgins targets: 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 4 = avg. of 3.333 per game with Higgins.

I mean there was little meaningful difference.

All year, 121.90-3.20 (Game 18)=118.7, so 118.7/17=6.982 avg.

118.7/17 games) = he averages 6.982 pts. per/game.

With Higgins (Iosivas operating from slot)

With Higgins he averaged 7.533 pts./game (90.4 with and 28.3 without)

He does better in the slot, as they were saying yesterday. Those 12 games are slot numbers.

Am I alone in thinking Tucker has way more value than Wilson? For one thing, I don't think Irving is on the verge of coming back. Foot injuries always linger longer than teams tell us they will. ProFootballDoc says he doesn't think Irving will be back this week (though he does say it's possible). In any event, if I had to bet on who will be out longer, my money is on Irving over Jacobs.

The other thing is that I just think Tucker is better than Wilson. He's had a couple blow-up games when given the opportunity, including, most obviously, this past week. Wilson, on the other hand, is a JAG.

My confidence level on all of this is extremely low. (There's also the possibility that they turn back to White as the primary back, though I would bet against it). But gun to my head, I'm picking up Tucker before Wilson

I was going to say this but got caught up with Yoshi. Tucker > Wilson for two reasons: no structural damage to Jacobs’ knee so Week 13 or 14 return is possible if not likely, whereas Bucky might be shelved for a while or be back this week or next. If Bucky is back, then play is probably Wilson, but for the rest of year and deciding tomorrow with this much info ( not a lot) then I go Tucker. Tucker also much more talented and on more up-tempo offense where backs get more plays and passes for PPR

Irving is out mostly due to his shoulder issue

Do we know that?

I have heard precious few details about the nature of Irving's injury. But when he first got hurt and they said it was a foot, I invoked IJR's Iron Law of Foot Injuries, which is that they will always end up being way worse than the team is admitting at any given point, and the way this has played out -- missing more than four games but never going on IR, no details or timetables about his return -- has followed that script to a T. So I just assumed it was the foot that was the problem

I've had Purdy in an IR spot, so I will need to drop one of these. 6 point passing TD. Who to drop?

Purdy and Maye both have a BYE in week 14, so I probably have to keep Dak regardless.

Obviously I am trying to make a trade, but trades are rare in our league. I'm going to offer Maye and hope somebody bits, I think he has the most trade value. Plus the Cowboys and 49ers both qualify as a "Carnival" team - good offense and bad defense, while the Patriots have a good defense so might not need to throw as much.

Dak Prescott
12 - Eagles Home
13 - Chiefs home
14 - at Lions
15 - Vikings Home

17 - at Commanders

Brock Purdy

17 - Bears Home

Drake Maye
12 - at Bengals

Yes we know that. Its been said numerous times by the head coach

Bucky will be back SOON
Just taking him but longer to come back than expected...
Tampa needs him 100% healthy for playoff run. No need to rush him back.
So they are taking their time.
Either this week or next Bucky will be back

Godwin I think won't he right until next season.

I dunno, that's what they always say. I'll believe it when I see it.

That said, I am at least a little nervous about going after Tucker too hard on the WW, especially with a tough-ish matchup this week

Rate your 1 week TE starts.

Henry
Fant
Barner

I like the potential upside of Barner but Henry maybe the safer bet?
Henry has the best floor, but he hasn't scored in like two months.

Assuming the Chase suspension is upheld, I kind of like taking a flier on Fant.

But just remember that when you're dealing with replacement-level TEs, there is no right answer. You're just hoping you get the guy who lucks into a TD.

I have Gadsden on bye this week and I'm probably stuck with Mason Taylor, or maybe Barner

Tucker did the same last year. He is the type of runner who can beat up really bad run D's - like the Bills. Doubt this is his breakout and he will ride the pine when Bucky returns

Great post, but who cares what percentage a player is owned on sleeper? Are they the standard now? I used to cringe when yahoo was the standard because it included yahoo public leagues, which are garbage. I quit playing them years ago because it was too easy to win.

I post the app I use just to give people an idea if they could be available or not. Some leagues might have a guy at 67% but he's on the wire. Other leagues might have a guy at 20% but he's owned. All varies but it gives a general idea of who might be gettable.

Great post, but who cares what percentage a player is owned on sleeper? Are they the standard now? I used to cringe when yahoo was the standard because it included yahoo public leagues, which are garbage. I quit playing them because it was too easy to win.
I post the app I use just to give people an idea if they could be available or not. Some leagues might have a guy at 67% but he's on the wire. Other leagues might have a guy at 20% but he's owned. All varies by it gives a general idea of who might be gettable.
I wonder if there is there is a source that combines all sources and gives an average percentage? Even better would be percentage separating redraft and dynasty. One can dream can’t he?

There is. I've seen it before on people's videos but can't think of it now. Might be a paid service.

Absolutely not.

T. Shough has quietly been effective the last couple games. Hell...did a lot better than Darnold @LAR a couple weeks ago. Could see NO gaining steam down the stretch. Here is their schedule:

@MIA
@TB
CAR
NYJ
@TN

I'm not saying NO players will be world beaters but they probably could be acquired somewhat cheaply for the stretch run to fill gaps.

Have the same amount of sacks as the PHI D on the season.

This may be the week to snag the Bucs for the long haul, if you can afford to waste a bench spot or start them.
I’m holding Cleveland and the Bucs and feel pretty good about it.

I usually don’t hold two defenses until the playoffs… but this feels like a great play.

The Bills have a great offense… but it still makes me wonder how great the Bucs team truly is.

I could wrong, but I thought the FOOT was OK for Irving and it has been the SHOULDER keeping him out the last few weeks, no?

FWIW - I think Emanuel Wilson is the waiver wire gem this week.
