Weird Al Super Bowl Halftime Show (1 Viewer)

How pathetic would a super bowl half time show with a cover artist be?
I really hate what the Super Bowl has become, and I despise the half time shows. I wish the event could somehow just go back to being about football. Since that idea is in the "never going to happen" file, why not Weird Al? He is very original and creative. I would likely watch his half time performance instead of changing channels like I usually do.
My thinking exactly. Regardless of your feelings about Weird Al's talent at least it will be more interesting than what the NFL usually trots out.

Why it could actually be fun!

Fair enough.

I've been hoping for a Frozen cover from him, but to no avail. Disney probably put the kibosh on that.

Let it Go practically writes itself...

Let it go, can't hold it back anymore...
I read a snippet of an interview with him that he wanted to do a Star Trek:TNG parody of Let It Go (Make It So), but he ran into a problem he didn't have earlier in his career: Because of YouTube, anybody can get a parody out online relatively quick, and someone had already done that. Weird Al said it forces him have to come up with and produce parodies quicker than he had to in the past.
Anybody can do parodies? I thought they were harder to write than original songs.
But are they any good? For every good parody, there are at least 5 songs that are awful.

I was discussing this with a friend this weekend and he had a great suggestion. He said how about having a regular singer or band for the halftime show and then right in the middle of one of their songs have Weird Al appear and do his spoof for a verse or so and then go back to the regular performer to finish the song. Keep everything a secret. Instead of having Weird al as the headliner, you have him as the secret special guest. I think that would make his fans happy and would be fine for people who aren't necessarily fans.

Some weird hate for Weird Al in here.

These guys must be a real treat to hang out with.

Weird Al would put on a more entertaining show than whatever non relevant group the alternative would be. You could even have the original artists sing some of the songs with him as most willingly give him the rights.

Agreed. I think the NFL is missing out on this one. It would end up being talked about more than the game. Except maybe in a good way, this time.

This isn't a bad idea.

As long as it also features Roger Goodell breakdancing on the front of the stage.

I also read it as "Weird AI" as in artificial intelligence. Shows you how far we've moved in six years.

Stop.

Please.

Good Morning Football just did a segment on who should do the halftime show and Kyle Brants choice was Weird Al.
