Weird Yahoo Rankings for IDP (1 Viewer)

First time playing IDP, in a new league that is hosted on Yahoo. Working through some pre-draft rankings and saw these very odd Yahoo default rankings for DB, DL, and LB.

DB

1. Dominique Barber - Hous

2. Lardarius Webb - Bal

3. Justin Miller - AZ

4. Will Blackmon - GB

5. Eric Smith - NYJ

DL

1. Craig Terrill - Sea

2. Dan Klecko - Atl

3. Victor Adenyaju - Stl

4. Luis Castillo - SD

5. Antonio Smith - Hou

LB

1. Mike Vrabel - KC

2. John Alston - TB

3. Keith Elison - Buf

4. Andre Carter - Was

5. Chris Kelsay - Buf

And so forth...

It's almost as if they were ranked randomly.

Really thinking i can exploit this, as this is the first year this league has used IDP, and i bet most owners will have done little prep, and might just let Yahoo auto-draft those positions. Anyone else seeing this in a Yahoo league?

Those are based on projections for expected offense production its stupid what you need to do is sort by fantasy points on the right side of the page

I'm using DD, so i'm not looking for help on my own rankings. Mostly a heads-up, and to see if anyone else had any success exploiting this.

I incorporated IDP in a league this year run on Yahoo. If you just click on tackles or sacks on the top of the player grid it will rank them from highest to lowest. In my draft when I saw random IDP players getting selected I had to let the cat out of the bag and tell some owners how to rank the players. Some still didn't get it and continued to draft fantasy irrelevant players. I guess those guys aren't fans of IDP and didn't do their homework

first of all, as others have mentioned, it's essentially random.

secondly, depending on your league set up there's every chance you could put together a good idp squad off the street.

and thirdly, I don't see the excitement of ripping off the ignorant.

i don't know that i would characterize it that way. As an IDP newbie, i come in as ignorant as anyone else. And since this is also a new league for me (i am helping out my neighbor with his work league), i have no idea if the other owners are any good, use FBG, etc. Mostly just trying to plot out draft strategy. Upon seeing the yahoo rankings, i am now planning to just wait/wait/wait on IDP. Which is a bit of a bummer, as i've enjoyed the intellectual challenge of learning this new wrinkle of fantasy football.

here's how it went...

The commish, who apparently unilaterally added IDP this year, picks Patrick Willis in the FIRST round, at 1.09. The next IDP was at 4.02 by a guy who claimed to play IDP in his other leagues. At 4.02, he takes Dominique Barber, one of the guys listed in the OP. It's mostly reasonable thereafter, although i'm pretty sure all the guys i listed in the OP were drafted somewhere in our 28 rounds.

fwiw, i ended up with:

DL - Kampman and Justin Smith

LB - Ruud, Rolando McClain, and Kirk Morrison

DB - Chung, Richard Marshall, and Laron Landry (waited one round too long on Eric Berry - should have predicted that, drafting in the state of TN)

P.S. Does the "Rate My Team" feature not work with IDP? Didn't work for me, and didn't appear to be part of that functionality.

if its a tackle heavy league, dont wait on Patrick Willis (say round 6) Barrett Ruud (Tampa) round 8 Dansby (Miami) round 10 and safety Bernie Pollard (HOU) round 13At the end, get yourself Rolando Mclain, Stephen Tulloch, Louis Delmas (S), Yerehiah Bell (S)

Yahoo still has Wilson projected with 12.1 (we are doing returns 10/1). Did they get the memo that Wilson isn't doing returns?

ok, look...........yahoo doesn't rank idp in any reliable manner.it has been always been like this, and won't change this season.there are no numerical rankings for you to rely on --- you're going to need to form your own idp opinions when using yahoo.offense and defense are two entirely different situations on yahoo./thread

Been on Yahoo for 10 years. They do a fairly good job of ranking offensive players.

THEY ARE CLUELESS ON IDP.

Do not, REPEAT, DO NOT use them for IDP, as their rankings are performed by obese monkeys, stabbing at the keybpard with bananas.
