Westbrook's Trade Value (1 Viewer)

I sold yesterday...I gave too much but I wanted Johnson down the stretch....

I gave:

Vic

Morency

Westbrook

Jennings

TO

I Got:

Eli

LJ

Muhamad

Mike Bell

Engram

I really only wanted Eli, LJ. and Mush to fill in as a bench receiver...this will give me Portis and LJ down the stretch...I just didn't have confidence that his knee is going to last the whole season.

I think you gave up too much. TO and Jennings are 2 solid rec to start, where Mush is a #3, or maybe #2 rec at best. LJ should be fine, but Westbrook is a top 10 rb in ppr leagues. The big if is that he must stay healthy. It is a risk either way.

I have been wondering the same thing...

I have contacted the Tiki owner for a possible trade and he's interested.

I was a buyer last week and actually feel a little more comfort this week. That said, I do not see him healthy 100% healthy at all this season but so far an injured Westbrook is very effective.

The only risk I see is if he has surgery other than that he will continue to do very little practicing and be questionable the rest of the year. If you can handle that then you should be ok. For me, I will stick him as my flex (12 teamer) the rest of the year (I hope) and watch to see if he pulls a last minute inactive and hopefully be able to take him out and fill in with a replacement.

I bought Westy. For SA/Morris.

Simply put, IF (yes, it's a big IF) he stays healthy enough to play all year, he'll finish top 5 in standard fantasy scoring. Why? He produces against all competition, not just weak competition. His upside is that he produces consistantly in the 15 pt/week range and will have 20+ pt weeks several times.

I got CBuck in the deal as well, but if Westy is out, CBuck's value isn't all that great as he'll share carries.

I gave up Holt to get him. Im taking a big gamble with his injury, but I do have Wayne, Housh, Berrian, and Jennings to hopefully step it up for me. My RB2 right now is JLewis :bag:

holt for westbrook?

SA/Morris for westbrook?

you guys are c-r-a-z-y! that's a lot of value for someone who has a bum wheel.

i agree that if he is healthy, he will be gold in ppr leagues. but don't you think that during meaningless games he will sit -- just like against green bay? plus, he'll be the first person yanked when the eagles lead big. and mcnabb is a first-half of the season QB... meaning, their offense should quiet down at some point.

Totally disagree. The Eagles schedule is TOUGH. They will be in a lot of close games and without Westy in the lineup, they'll be in trouble. Not that McNabb can't win some games by himself...surely he can. But Westbrook is just as much a key to this offense as Donovan. No Westy=No threat of breaking the big one out of the backfield.Westbrook is on of the most explosive backs in the NFL...PPR or not, he's a stud.I had a pretty extensive post after I made the deal detailing my feelings about it. Bottom line in the league I did it is that I am 2-3 (only league I'm hurting in) and felt it was time to shake things up. I also sold Driver in the deal. Calculated gamble perhaps, but I feel that SA's value is very limited this year despite the easy remaining schedule. I can see Strong being utilized more around the GL and Morris being worked in to keep SA's foot healthy. Not a good mix for huge fantasy production from a back that isn't getting good blocking and isn't 100% healthy. Whereas Westbrook has proven he only needs 15-20 touches to be a monster. Some might see the logic as flawed about the Eagles schedule with regard to Westy's value. Again...he produces against everybody. So I see it as a good thing. Of course, I may be wrong and SA could come back and be the stud of a year ago. I'm betting he doesn't though and therefore like the upside of my deal. This situation is very much a matter of opinion in relation to how SA will do going forward.

What games are you thinking he might sit for the rest of the year because of "easy" opponents?

I'm going to ride him till his wheel does fall off. In my league we give a 3 pt bonus to RB with 50+ receiving yards and .33 ppr. With that scoring Westbrook is a beast and is the #1 scoring RB. I'd give him up for LT, but that owner isn't budging so I'm not either.

Do I think I overpaid with the risk? Sure. But that is what FF is about. I am gambling on him staying healthy. If he doesnt, it sucks to be me. But the Eagles have anything but a cake schedule. Jamal Lewis has been a huuuuuge disappointment this year and I needed to make a move. In PPR, IF he stays healthy, Westy is most likely top 5. With the receivers I have, I think its worth it.

Tennesee and Tampa Bay (unless TB gets their act together). It killed me when he sat out the GB game... I was 1-1 and happy to have pulled out one win that week. And I am also referring to the few games that either Philly or their opponent is up big and there's a good chance westbrook will sit to rest his knee. Westbrook will put up big numbers... No doubt. And it looks like I am riding him until the wheels fall off -- The tiki owner is scared about his knee. And I am also a owner of Holt... Right now, there aren't too many players that I would give up Holt for. He's consistent and reliable.

Westbrook owner here as well. I am keeping him. My league gives bonus points for backs' receiving TDs and he gets a ton. The other owners are offering me RB2s because of his knee, and in our league he is a game winning RB1 when healthy.

I traded for Buckhalter, so if Westy goes down for any length of time, I can limp (no pun intended) along. I made a run at the Tiki owner, but he wouldn't budge and the owners of Rudi, Tomlinsin, and LJ aren't interested. Unless I get an owner to give up a top tier RB, I am going to keep him.

I expect to lose him for up to 4 weeks, and I am insulating myself from that likelyhood.
