Who will it be add comments if you like.

(I replaced Oakland with Denver, for obvious reasons. If it wasn't a mistake and you wanted Oakland in and Denver out, my apologies.)

No Denver? Righting them off? Since Denver isn't there...NYG. That offensive PI call was all that kept them from beating Indy.

I think Carolina should run away with this poll.

The Giants could digg themselves a hole with a loss this week to Philly and then a loss to Seattle the week after. Wow what a rough start to the year facing those 3 teams. The they have a bye and after the bye if they don't win one of those first 3 games the would face Washignton who is a very good team.

The Giants could be in some big trouble this year as they have a very difficult schedule.

San Fran.

Smith is respectable now and Gore will outproduce LArry Johnson if he stays healthy. Their defense is young and fired up. They will come around.

Denver was far and away my first choice, but the poll said no homerism votes allowed, so I voted Miami instead. What it came down to is that there were 4 other teams I liked (Dallas, Carolina, Tampa Bay, New York), but they all cancelled each other out because they were from the same division and conference (so they'll all be battling each other for the same spots), and because I wasn't even sure any of those teams were close to the best team in the division/conference. I like Carolina, for instance... but am I sure that they're going to win the division over Atlanta and TB? And if they don't, do I like their chances battling for a wildcard with TB, Dallas, and New York?

I feel that New England is weak this season, and that Miami acquitted itself very well against one of the truly elite teams in the league. I could see Miami winning the East outright (easier than I could see the other teams winning their division outright, mostly because there's less competition). Even if Miami loses their division, their schedule is a cupcake and the AFC West is going to beat itself up, so that Miami will be in the prime position to grab an easy WC (think Jacksonville last season).

Ha.He faces the Cardinals only twice this season.Unlucky for him, Larry Johnson also gets a shot at that pop warner defense, too.

Anyone who voted for the NY Giants obviously didn't look at their schedule:

@Philadelphia

@Seattle

BYE

Washington

@Atlanta

@Dallas

Tampa Bay

Houston

Chicago

@Jacksonville

@Tennessee

Dallas

@Carolina

Philadelphia

New Orleans

@Washington

That's about as brutal as an NFL schedule can get.

Although perhaps a "homer pick", I went with Detroit.

First, their D played very well against the "other" Super Bowl team.

Second, their division is the weakest.

Third, while their offense didn't take off, I'm pretty sure it will improve.

There are some good teams, but they don't play Pittsburgh. They don't play Baltimore or San Diego or Denver or New England or Cincinatti. Carolina does not look as good as claimed. Same for Seatle. Philiadelphia may or may not be all that. Dallas and Washington are OK. The bottom line, if the Giants are a playoff team they will win 10 games. All the teams in their division have to play each other, so they all will be beat up. Granted, they only have a couple of give me games, but this is the NFL and they are in a rock solid division.

NY Giants non-division games:Indy (L), @Seattle, @Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Houston, Chicago, @Jacksonville, @Tennessee, @Carolina, NO Compare that to Philly:@Houston (W), @San Fransisco, Green Bay, @NO, @Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Tennessee, @Indy, Carolina, AtlantaLook at some of the common opponents: The Giants had Indy at home and lost, the Eagles get them on the road, same thing with Tampa Bay and Houston (the only common opponents that the Giants have that are more favorable than the Eagles). The Giants get Atlanta, Jacksonville, Carolina and Tennessee all on the road, the Eagles get all those games at home (big advantage). From the NFC West the Giants are @Seattle, where the Eagles are @San Fransisco. The Giants get Chicago from the NFC North, the Eagles get Green Bay. The Giants better play a great game this weekend in Philadelphia, because if they lose they have no chance of making the playoffs because the division winner is the only team from the NFC East that will make the playoffs.
