Let me preface this by saying I am not a Reggie Bush fan. While he unquestionably has a unique skill set. Bush has failed to prove himself as anything more than an average running back in the NFL.
That said, if Bush is going to have a big game this season, Monday night vs Atlanta should be it. The game seems to play to Bush's strenghts. New Orleans is playing an average to poor small defense on turf. Bush's entire game is built on speed. He tends to fair better against small defenses. Bigger defenses seem to slow him down + give him more trouble in general. I could see Bush finding some open space vs the Falcons and taking advantage of it.
Also, Bush has started to get a lot of negitive press of late. The growing consensus is that Bush is overrated. What better way to prove all of his critics wrong than a Monday night showcase vs a fairly weak defense? I think Bush has something to prove at this point.
I just have a feeling Bush comes out Monday night and lights up the Falcons on national tv.
Any thoughts?
