What are the Raiders going to do with Jerry Porter? (1 Viewer)

They couldn't get him traded last year. I haven't heard his name once in any trade rumors this year. He has had to piss off Al Davis. Will Davis try to keep him? I think he has a middle of the road contract. If I remember they signed him to a big deal and then got Moss. So after signing the deal he thought he was going to be the man, and then they went and got Moss. Considering the huge contracts free agents are getting now Porter's contract is probably relatively reasonable. But he was pretty much invisible last year. Since I haven't heard anything I guess he stays a Raider, but I would think there would be a lot of bad blood there. How do Raider fans feel about him?

Refreshed.There was a radio interview (on Sirius, I think) with Porter that cleared up alot of the question marks surrounding last seasons situation. A lot of good information was given on why things played out they way they did last season. And Porter also discussed the arrival of Kifflin as well.Porter won't be leaving the Raiders this year, and shouldn't.

Actually JP and Davis get along fine. Same with new coaches. JP could be comeback player of year this season. Oak is working on fixing offense, defense is fine. Porter will be a big part of that upgraded offense this season in my opinion.

I think if Moss goes it will actually help his numbers. I think he will be relied on more which is what he has always wanted....

Actually, if they get rid of Moss, he may be in the position that he expected to be in before Moss was signed. I think when he signed that contract he thought he was going to be the man. If they don't draft CJ he may have the chance to be. I don't know who will throw him the ball, but they will find someone.

How well improved can his numberrs be when they have no QB? Develop issues with Russell and Battle if they take them in the draft, AAron Brooks gone(at least for the moment) and a smayyrting of so so FAs (Green, Carr) and he;s never really proved he can carry the load as a NO. 1 receiver.
