What are your thoughts on Marcus Easley? (1 Viewer)

Now that his heart condition is resolved, some (me included) are considering Easley a sleeper for 2012. He's a big WR 6'2" 225 who has ran a 4.40 40 and has run after catch ability. That said, Buddy Nix has stated he will try to sign a big play WR even if Steve Johnson is resigned (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2012/01/10/nix-on-easley/).

I guess Easley is someone to put at the end of your 24 man roster bench and wait and see.

This is where I fall. If you have room, he's an okay stash with some upside. But he's droppable if something else comes along.
I'm not so sure about that. I'd rather have Easley over most scrubs on the WW.
Sure, if you love his upside. I think he has upside as well, but I don't think his probability of success is particularly high. And there is always gold to be mined from the WW. If I hear buzz that someone is tearing it up at camp and I like this guy's upside as well, I have no problem dumping Easley for a prospect I deem better. I may end up being dead wrong, but that's part of the fun. Full disclosure: I dropped Victor Cruz before last season in one league... for Brandon LaFell. So there you go.

As of right now, in the 9 dynasty leagues I'm in Easley is not on the waiver wire in any of them.

I think Easley is the perfect stash player. His odds of hitting are lowish, but if he does he's got the physical tools to be a monster.

I think Easley's at least a hold to see what happens in training camp.

Barring any medical setback of course.

I think the availability of Easley is linked to how deep your league's rosters go.

He is available in my 10 team league, he is available in my 12 team league with 20 man rosters, but he is rostered in my 12 team league with deeper rosters.

All 12 team leagues with 24 to 26 man rosters and one with 20 man rosters. He's taken in all of them.

I like LaFell more than Easley, just as a side note here.

While LaFell could turn into a decent WR, he doesn't have a lot of upside and will never be a WR 1 type. I think Easley has that upside, whether it actually comes to fruition or not is a different story.

There's that word never again. I get it, you have strong opinions. But they're not facts. And I disagree with your opinion on LaFell.

I never said they were facts. Why are you getting agressive? Of course it's just my opinion.

How would their depth chart play out?

Starters:

Stevie Johnson (possible)

Donald Jones

David Nelson

Next cut:

Brad Smith

Roscoe Parrisch

Roosevelt Naaman

Marcus Easley

Likely gone:

Ruvell Martin

Derek Hagan

Odd as it sounds, Buffalo has a lot of depth...If Stevie signs, I am not sure Easley is on the roster. He was a 2010, 4th rounder, so there is little obligation to keep him because he was "a high pick".

Why am I getting aggressive? That's pretty much your MO in every post where someone disagrees with you. I find it funny that you get touchy when someone throws a little back at you.

I guess he better light it up in the preseason then. Before Victor Cruz got hurt and did so well a couple of years ago in the preseason, not many knew who he was. After he got hurt many gave up on him and just like the poster above insinuates, he now regets it.

I'm sorry you feel that way. All I did was make a post about a player giving my opinion. You don't need to do this. I respect your opinion on players.

my thoughts on deep stashes are ultimately tied to their upside in a best case scenario... Brad Smith and Easley are both available in my 12 team 26 man roster non-ppr dynasty league with slight bonuses for return yardage... My feeling is that Easley's upside is much higher based on his physical skill set that he brings to the table... I'm also considering an even deeper stash in Eron Riley from the Jets as he also has a very interesting skill set and may or may not have an opportunity to get on the field... I'm among those that gave up on Cruz too early and I kicked myself for it all season (although I knocked off his new owner in the playoffs haha)

Maybe nothing comes out of any of these guys but that's what the off-season is for... taking fliers and hoping to hit gold

The Match brought up Brandon LaFell, what are your thoughts on him? I have him in one league.
