What do YOU want for Christmas? (1 Viewer)

Meh… I am happy with the possessions I/we have.  Rarely by things for myself… actually trying to purge.

food related items

just got a new tv

Thinking about a newer car.

really, just want more time with friends and family

If I had one wish that I could wish this holiday season, it would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing together in the spirit of harmony and peace...
Pretty sure that would be tough for the kids that live right by the oceans.

I mentioned last year wanting to get the ultimate collector edition Lego Millennium Falcon for my boys. I broke down and bought it a few months back when it came back into stock. I’m giving it to them but it’s really for me. Will occupy most of our indoor winter days. (They are about to release the ultimate AT AT. Looks good too!)

There is a silver lining- post divorce sex is pretty, pretty good.
I'm  hoping so.  The divorce was 100% her idea.  We went the mediated route.  We're still good friends.  Very good friends, actually.  I'm hoping to lure her out to Denver for a look-see sometime in the near future.

Nice to see none of you can think of anything for yourselves either.
I'm terrible with this, and a tough person to shop for.  I'm not picky, just have a hard time coming up with something I want for Christmas.  If I want something during the year for myself, I buy it.  I have unused gift cards from last Christmas.

ETA:  Other than world peas of course.

It sounds cliche, but as the kids get older and move out on their own it actually rings more true.  We only have 1 of 5 left at home and this will be our first Christmas with grandkids so I just want all of the kids to be home for a while.  We are having Christmas a couple weeks early this year because our daughter is leaving for Europe on the 22nd for 3 weeks because her boyfriend has been working in Hungary for the last 6 months so it will be kind of weird not having them all home on Christmas day.

I ask for the same thing every year: a Cleveland Indians ERR Guardians World Series title.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm scheduled for an uncontested divorce hearing on December 28.  That and alimony for the next 7 years is my Christmas present.
Wanted to make a crack about you missing the return policy window, but that really sucks. Sorry.

I recommend Maui Jims.  I have them in prescription sunglasses.  Could never go back to store bought.
I just get Blenders. I lose or break glasses all the time.

Maui Jim’s are nice. I get them as a gift from work about every two years.

I got my present already for this year and many years - a 2021 Ford F150. This truck makes me so happy, and I know it sounds pretentious, but this truck has a lot of meaning to me and our family.

When my wife and I first got married, we bought a new F150. It was an extended cab, the color was white, and I was a contractor at the time. So I needed a truck for my work. It wasn’t fancy - no power windows or locks, but it was a nice truck for us. We could fit the two boys in their car seats and go wherever we wanted.

I got a vasectomy shortly after that, so we had things planned out. Or so we thought. My beautiful miracle baby girl was born about 12 months after that. Literally a one in a million. But, the F150 had to go. I had three kids in car seats, so we sold it and bought a Suburban so we could transport all the kids. My two boys bought me a white Matchbox F150 for Christmas that year because they loved that truck. As did I.

That was 11 years ago. In the meantime I have driven older used cars. Whatever we could afford. We always bought older cars and always had the idea we would only have one car payment at a time. We could never buy a new car. Was never in the cards, and that was fine. We had kids to raise and spent all our dough on them.

Fast forward to now, and our old trusty Suburban was ready to go. She served us well, and we needed a new vehicle. The kids are out of car seats by a mile now, so we talked about our next vehicle.

And my wife, God Bless Her, let me get my F150 again. And by the grace of God, it was a white one. It had to be a white one, just like the old one. And we have reached a financial position now where after all the sweat and tears and tightening of the belts all those years we can comfortably afford it.

My boys smiled widely when I drove that thing into the driveway. And in the car with me for the ride home from the dealer was my miracle baby girl, now 11 years old. It was just meant to be.

Way to make my recumbent bike answer look silly  :kicksrock:

For real though, great story.  Happy you got the truck

New electric razor

golf ball case (for souvenir balls)

Long sleeve golf shirts

anything chocolate

good coffee

new dress pants (I’ve had the same few pair forever)

ps5

but honestly, what I fell my wife and kids is that they should find something they think I would like. If I see something I really want I would have bought it already

I say this with all love and respect: you and your family are like a living Norman Rockwell painting. When I picture Americans, I like to think there are more good, wholesome people than what we see on TV every day. ❤️
