Not even a question.

For all of you younger football guys TAXI was one of the funniest sit coms of all time...

And Louie DePalma was one of its best characters.

It amazes me how short lived many of the older "iconic" shows were. Taxi was 5 seasons. The Brady Bunch was 5 seasons. I love Lucy was 6 seasons. I guess shows played out their lifetimes much more quickly than they do now.
The original Star Trek was only 3 seasons! Blows my mind. Seems like there were 200 episodes.
Seasons back then were much longer then the seasons of today are. Just saw in the Chevy Chase thread that Community's forth season is 13 episodes, which is half of what an old season used to be. I think it is more about marketing and the ability to reach the correct number of seasons for syndication rights, which I think is 5, where all the BIG money of sitcoms apparently is.

Damn, I went with War of The Roses simply because that's one of my favorite movies. I should have narrowed it down to signature role, but I just couldn't.

Should have went with Taxi. Bad vote on my part. But Ignatowski stole that show, IMO.

I think I'm the only one that absolutely hated Taxi.I just could not stand anyone on the show...every single character except Ignatowski.
It's got such a depressing '80s look and feel for me. Theme song and all. Probably why I've never tried to watch much of it.

Frank or Ralph for me. Taxi was a little before my time.
Same here, but I remember watching re-runs and later rented the season. Great show that I think still holds up. It isn't a cheesy sitcom, it dealt with some serious issues and was often pretty sad. It didn't sugar coat the fact that these characters were failures.

IIRC, DePalma was #1 on TV Guide's 50 greatest TV charactes of all time list (granted, the list has to be over a decade old by now, but still).

I looove Always Sunny and Frank Reynolds...but this is a no-brainer.
