What is the best single game performance of all-time in the regular season?

It was Clinto Portis a few years ago with 54 points against the Chiefs. In some formats (6pts/passing TD) it can now be Palmer. But with standard scoring Portis still has the record

I do subscribe to 6 point passing TD's...

Carson Palmer had 48 in both of my leagues...

6 point passing, 1 point per 25 yards

I see...in my home league they changed the scoring this year and roster requirement. They change this stuff every year just to keep it interesting. QBs now get 6pts/TD and 1pt/20 yards passing. They also don't count against INTs. In that league yesterday Palmer scored 57 pts. 48 however is still nothing to sneeze at.

I was thinking Flipper Anderson when he went 15-336, but he had only 1 TD.....336 yards and only 1 TD???

We did this last year. Somebody needs to do the math on these.

My entry of the 1972 game featuring Namath in his showdown with Johnny U that netted:

Namath: 15/28/1- 496 yds(6 TDs) + Unitas: 26/45/0- 376 yds(2TDs) = NFL Record 872 combined passing yards

That's 33yds per completion for Namath by the way. I wonder if THAT is an NFL single game record??

If your league gives bonuses for long passing TD's??...

(09-18-78) Baltimore Colts vs New England Patriots - MNF - The Joe Washington Game! Colts beat the Patriots 34-27 on the road in the rain in the game where Baltimore rookie RB Joe Washington took over the second half to beat New England nearly single handedly by throwing, catching, and returning a kickoff for touchdowns!

I'm not sure what Joe's total stats were in that game, but I bet his Fantasy stats were one of the best if he gets credit for kickoff returns.

yeah i got beat in a 6pt passing TD league where i outscored my opponent at every position other than QB

he had Palmer (56 points) and I had Bulger (21) = loss

(even though Bulger had a good day)

all of a sudden i am against 6pt passing TDs hehe

The highest in my league was LT a few years ago when he had 100+ rushing, 100+ receiving and God knows how many touchdowns.

SA in about '04?
:goodposting: I think he had 5 TD's against MIN, and if I'm not mistaken, they were all in the first half.
I found it:vs MINN in '02:231 yards combined, 5 TDsIn my league...that's 58.1 fantasy points. Not going to be the biggest...but I'll bet it was the biggest half.
You know what sucked about that though? He didn't play in the second half. While it was amazing that he put up those numbers, some wanted him to get even more. :lmao:

I do subscribe to 6 point passing TD's...

Carson Palmer had 48 in both of my leagues...

6 point passing, 1 point per 25 yards
You might want to double check your scoring system...6 TDs x 6pts/TD = 36 pts

401yds/25yds per pt = 16 pts

36 + 16 = 52 total pts (plus 10 yds rushing; with no bonuses)

I seem to remember Jimmy Smith putting up some wicked ridiculous stats back around the 1st or 2nd week of 2000 (if I remember correctly).

Anyone want to look that up? I remember it being ridiculous.

Palmer this week in a small "friends" league I'm in that has an outrageous scoring system. 10pts all TDs, 1 PP completion, -1 PP incompletion, yardage bonuses, etc...

So, Palmer this week managed to post a 133...by himself. Yes, the league overvalues QBs, yes there were 8 taken in the first 2 rounds. And yes, the guy who had Palmer won this week. In fact, he single handily beat the other team 133-98

Maybe not the greatest of all time, but very noteworthy..

Receiving

4 - 117 - 2 TDs (91, 6)

Rushing

1 - 29 - 1 TD (29)

Passing

1/1 - 60 - 1 TD (60)

Standard PPR scoring, 1 for 20 passing yards, 4 passing TD

4 + 11.7 + 6 + 6 + 2.9 + 6 + 3 + 4

43.6

With bonuses for length of TDs, this was week winning day.

I had Shaun Alexander a few years ago when he lit up I think Oakland in a Sunday night matchup I believe for something like 266yds and 5 TDs. If I recall correctly, he had all 5 TDs in the 1st half. Kindof a big day there from a RB.

I believe it was Bobby "no legs" Crothers, who threw for 3 TDs, ran for 4 more, and had 479 total yards back in aught-four.

I'm not sure if you count this, but Gayle Sayers' 6 TD game vs. the 49ers in his rookie year would rank right up there - although this was pre-FF. Ironically, he tied the 6 TD record in a game set AGAINST the Bears in 1929.

just trying to figure this out for my league.... I think Palmer has the record now but Im double checking.

All TD's 7 , 1/10 rush/rec , 1/20 pass .. no negatives.

The first year of my league was 1995 and we had our championship game in Week 16. I was up by quite a bit going into the Monday Night game and only a huge game by Jerry Rice would deny me of the inagural championship.

10 yards rushing, 14 catches, 289 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns.

Not the highest score but because it happened in Week 16 and on a Monday night I'm sure a lot of playoff matches were won or lost on his performance.

In week 1 of 1994, Dan Marino put up 473 Yds and 5 TDs against the Patriots (Mia won 39-35). At least 2 or 3 of the TDs were over 50 yards to Irving Fryar. In our crazy scoring system (TD-only with distance bonuses), he scored like 100 points that day. In a conventional scoring system w/6-pt TDs, it was more like 53-55 points.

Here's the a yoube clip of the highlights:

I believe the answer is running back Billy Cannon of the Oilers, from his huge 12/10/1961 game against the N.Y. Titans.

216 rushing yards, 157 yards receiving

5 TDs (67 catch, 15 catch, 61 run, 52 run, 2 run)

Some might choose to disqualify the early AFL from consideration, but if not, that's a heck of a game. During a "fantasy" playoff week, too.

In what I call my "math league," Palmer scored 703 this week. And his owner still might lose.

1 point per yard, 5 points per completion, 35 points per TD, -25 per INT, plus you get the QB's rating for the game added to your score.

Palmer scored 703 for him but the rest of his team combined for just over 400. And his opponent had Brady, who scored 492. So the Palmer owner needs Reggie Brown to outscore Santana Moss by a whole bunch tonight in order to win.

This scored 80 points in my league. We get double TD points for out of position scores, so the 60 yard TD was worth 24 points + 2 points for passing yardage(1 per 25). The rushing TD was worth 18 +2 points for rushing yardage(1 per 10).

Receiving TDs worth 12 and 6.

I don't remember which player but a score over 100 was once scored.

:hifive: This performance still stands as the single-week record in our league w/ 70 pts. We have bonuses for 50+ TDs, and I'm pretty sure 3 of the 5 were 50+.

The other crazy thing about it - Irving Fryar: 201 yards and 3 TDs on only FOUR RECEPTIONS - that's crazy

Dante Culpepper completions 1-5, p yards 1-20, rushes 1-5, r-yds 1-10, passing td 6

04 vs texans

36 completions = 7.2 pts

396 yards = 19.8

6 rushes = 1.2 pt

30 rush yards = 3 pts

5 passing td = 30 pts

61.2 points

Marshal Faulk

best 1 TD performance: 208 rushing/78 receiving/1 TD 2000 week 7 vs Atl

best 2 TD performance: 192/75/2 1998 week 13 vs Bal

best 3 TD performance: 220/41/3 2000 week 17 vs Nor

best 4 TD performance: 183/52/4 2002 week 7 vs Sea

The 4 TD performance would have given him 50.5 pts based on 10 yds/pt, 6 pt/td, +3 bonus pt for 100+ yards rushing/receiving. I can't believe how high some of the others posted are, i thought Faulk would be way up there.
