What is the consensus on Bowe (1 Viewer)

Continue to run the offense thru Charles, get down early and chuck a few balls to Bowe during garbage time?

As a Bowe owner I'm hoping something clicks in Quinn but I have my doubts.

cant be any worse than Cassell
This is what I'm thinking. Also, Quinn actually looked really good on the couple of passes he threw when he got into the game. He can't be worse than Cassel, not possible. And there's a chance he even injects a little more life into the offense and Charles and Bowe both benefit. We'll see.

have watched every KC snap....surprised Bowe hasn't been knocked out yet....Cassel misses high every time....his ball elevates as it moves down the field....even when he throws dump off passes he is not accurate....RB's have to make adjustments instead of being hit in stride and moving up field...Cassel costs this team huge amounts of YAC in every game.....

I know it's common to slam Quinn around here, but this is an upgrade move at QB for all those involved....the few passes Quinn threw were like night and day compared to Cassel's....I actually didn't even every remember Quinn throwing the ball like that before....he may have matured, been working on things, etc....accurate with lots of zip (compared to Cassel)....I honeslty feel Cassel will not get the job back....

now if we could just get Crennel to experiment with a game plan....but doubt he will....the post above by Dark Matter is correct (for now)...hope it changes (this week)

Does Quinn have the arm strength to push the ball far down the field? That would be my concern because Bowe seems to me (and I could be wrong, I don't watch the Chiefs often) to be a guy that always gets that one 30-40 yard play every week.

as far as i know, quinn is more of a check down-don't take a risk qb than cassel is. maybe things have changed though. it's been a while and we don't have that much to go by. i can't see quinn improving bowes numbers but maybe he is good enough to keep him at the same level. i think its likely that bowes numbers drop a bit in exchange for increase production from moeoki and maybe mcclusters

Quinn has never had a weapon like Bowe to throw to before, so it is really hard to say. Bowe is used on a lot of shorter routes, too, and I'd expect Quinn to be more precise on these than Cassel. I think the offense will function better, overall, and Bowe's numbers will probably be about the same.

Quinn is garbage. The two passes he threw last week were the first action he's seen in a real game since 2009. Good luck with that.

The opportunity is there for Bowe, he is still getting the targets to make him a solid FF starter. Last week he failed to pull in two good passes from Cassell and caught a TD that was reversed due to an offensive PI. His week 5 stat line could have been 8/9 receptions for 100+ yds. and TD instead of his 6/60. His floor is safe in enough not to worry and his upside is solid.

If Quinn looks as good for 4 quarters as he did against the Ravens, I think there's reason for some optimism here.
:goodposting: Brady was 3 for 3, so small sample size. The accuracy and zip was nice to see especially on the slant route where Bowe broke a couple of tackles and YAC. Bowe is deadly when the ball is on time and in stride which it hasn't been since 2010.

Bowe is a very solid WR, but after he plays the Saints this week, I'd be looking to sell him. He's already played against 3 of the top 10 teams that have allowed the most points to WR's this year and now plays the Bucs who have allowed the 3rd most points to WR's this season. That's 4 out of 6 great matchups to start the season, he only plays 3 teams(out of 9 games remaining) in the top 10 in points allowed to WR's after this week. He might continue to rack up the points during garbage time, but that isn't something that I would want to rely on.

And I'm definitely not a believer in Brady Quinn and don't expect him to be much better than Matt Cassel.

Quinn is miserable. Just wait until you see him play on sunday before replying.

I bet the fans in KC will cheer when cassell comes back. "can it get any worse?" YES!!!

You are correct, sir.

Figured I would bump this for a Week 8 take. @19/20 (Std/PPR) Dodds seems a little more bullish than the rest of the rankings I have been seeing. Community has him around #25 this week.

If you are sitting him, who are you sitting him for?

I need the W this week so he is going to my bench in 2 leagues, both PPR. Britt & Gordon are the replacements. When I have to toss a coin I usually just go with Dodds but I just don't see it in this one.

I want to though.

Sitting for Cruz and Antonio Brown. Still possible for me to flex him if I see any negative injury news on Gronkowski. I like his matchup an awful lot but Quinn is giving me the willies right now.

Sitting him for James Jones this week; with Jordy Nelson highly questionable for tomorrow, I'm thinking the targets/receptions get an up-tick for both Jones and Cobb. I just can't trust Brady Quinn to do any better than, say, 19-37 / 210 yds / 1 INT.

He's my #2 over Britt. Tempted to roll the dice with Givens vs Pats tertiary, but Bowe is solid #2 ROS. No need to over think it and get cute.

I dont get this move at qb, it is an absolute joke. I even heard earlier this week that Quinn was surprised when he heard was the starter and didnt know he would be the starter because Cassell took most of the 1st teams reps. Crennel said he "had a good feeling" about Quinn.

For anyone who didnt watch last game he looked absolutely terrible. maybe he was just dusting off the cobwebs, but :yucky:

here is the video of crennel (fast forward to 1:45):

he says his biggest deal is his gut.

:loco:

To be fair, the TB defense looks like it has really tightened up in recent weeks, at least they did against the Vikings on the road the other night. I still think Quinn might be alright. The coaches want to win because that's probably the only way they keep their jobs at this point. Bowe wasn't being helped by Cassel's drive-killing turnovers, either.

I need Bowe to produce every week from here on in.

But there is a big, red button on my desk saying "panic" and my fingers are getting twitchy.
