The more I think about it, as a Pitts owner, I would seriously consider this offer. I would probably counter for one more piece, maybe a third rounder, or a player of that Valuev… But it’s pretty close and a very decent opening salvo.

Really? Pitts value must have risen since I last checked.
I believe I did say I would counter, but I don’t think the offer is topic-worthy bad.
How much would have to be added for you to consider it close? ‘Mouth + a ‘23 1st?

You've soured on Pitts it seems. Feels like nobody was beating that drum harder...
One thing I didn't mention is that this guy has probably the studliest team in our league so that 2nd is likely very late, and TE is by far his weakest position so it just makes the rich richer to give him Pitts.
But yeah, Pitts is 2 years younger than Muth despite being in the same class. I like 'Muth too but the talent isn't the same and he's got QB troubles also, but he's got a lot more competition for targets than Pitts does.

Pitts like he was my only son. He’s a foundational piece of my roster:but if I could get Mouth, a ‘23 high 2nd and another pick or piece I’d have to consider it.
if it was ‘mouth & a decent ‘23 1st I’d be even more tempted.
At some point the drop-off from one to the other is worth the extra return.
ETA: that it seems like it’s going to be a low pick makes a terrible offer. But I didn’t know that back then.

Yeah, so ‘mouth + a 2nd & 3rd or a 2nd and a player seems fair in that context. But as mentioned above, it depends on the caliber of the pick. 12-team, picks 1-4, then it’s 13-16 overall.
If someone came at me with ‘mouth + a 2023 top 4 1st I would have to seriously consider it. Well, except I probably already have the top 4 picks, but I’m being hypothetical. lol
Took over an orphan (12 team SF) that is on the win-now side. Previous owner traded away the 2022 1st and 2023 1st and 2nd. Been looking around for vet production for the 2022 draft picks I have (2.10, 3.10, 4.10).
Inquired with one manager who stated in chat that they were looking to move vets. Received the following offer.
Give: 2.10 + Brevin Jordan
Receive: Austin Hooper
Posted in league chat that for 2.10, I am looking for something in the ranges of RB40-50 or WR55-65. From the same manager as above, received the following offer:

While I view both offers as bad, I didn't think that they were worthy of posting here. I messaged the other manager stating that our valuations are very far apart. Received this reply, which is why I wanted to share on this thread. Hope someone else gets a chuckle from it like I did.

Some context to add. Thielen and Lockett are on my roster as I listed them as examples of WRs in the range that I would trade 2.10 for. I was in discussions with a different manager who had Anderson and had an offer of 4.10 for him. I passed at the time and Anderson was then traded for Parris Campbell + 4.09 to the manager who inspired this post.
I did complete a trade of my 4.10 for Campbell, so the other manager managed to get 4.09 and 4.10 for Anderson, rather than just the 4.10 if I had taken the first offer.

It’s steep for Stevenson for sure but don’t see it as a horrible offer. Toney could be out of the league by next year and we don’t really know what Smith or White is yet while Stevenson looked very good last season - albeit in a timeshare/Pats type season.12 team SF league

KeepCutTrade has it as an overwhelming bad offer @ -4000pts.
I see Smith as a top 10-12 TE this year, Toney is a wildcard that showed some flash(more than Stevenson, IMO). White, well who knows.
I also am not into any Pats RB, until they prove me wrong.
This trading stuff isn't easy!

Wat? Sure, he had an up and down rookie season, but the combination of coach and QB play was not exactly helpful.
The offer is terrible IMO. It assumes the best for Stevenson's projection and the worst for the other three.

I think Tony is a talent - and I have him on a few teams - but he is a complete diva/headcase - and one possible outcome for him is that he never puts in the work to stick in the league.

Its possible he could end up gone, but not probable. If it does happen, it is far more likely that it would take a lot longer than 2 years for a first round pick to be out of the league.

It was an exaggeration to make a point - but yes I don’t think he’ll actually be out of the league in 2023, but bouncing around and disappointing wouldn’t be surprising.
I hope he’s a stud though.
I don’t think that was a good offer but I don’t think it’s an offensive offer (or worst offer ever type deal), it’s a light “feel some one” out initial offer. Take one piece out and all of a sudden it looks like closer value. It’s looking for a counter.
I’m actually high on Irv Smith Jr but even the OP called him a potential top 10-12 TE (that’s not very useful really) - I think he can actually finish higher but that’s unknown right now.
Stevenson looked like a stud at times last season and Harris is on the last year of his rookie deal. He’s the safest part of that offer.

...and it's much more than that really. You need to research into him a little more. He's way more late career Antonio Brown type diva than a Keyshawn Johnson/Terrell Owens type diva. He's young so I hope he gets his head on straight but he doesn't seem smart enough to figure it out. I'll tell you his trade value is very minimal right now if you shop him around.

Winner!Bought an orphan today - I wasn’t going to play in more than 2 leagues, but an opening came up in a 16 team IDP SF start 2 TE Dynasty and I couldn’t resist. Not a world-beater but a pretty solid team.
My “welcome to the league” trade offer is an instant qualifier for this topic. Bear in mind, 4th & 5th rounders are more valuable in IDP, but…

This is exactly where I see the offer. All of those guys (Toney, Irv, & Rachaad) are very widespread on how another owner views them. However, since this owner has them on his roster you would think he would be on the higher side of value for them. So I can see where you might take this offer as trash because you value all those guys higher than most since you actually acquired them already.

Yes - counter asking for an early to mid-second with Stevenson and I could see the offer being accepted.
Obviously to some that second may not be enough still. It’s funny because I say all this thinking I’m higher on Toney and Irv Smith than most and yet…

Ok, there is some fair discussion going on. What is Stevenson worth? I tried moving him in a different SF league and all I was asking was a 2023 2nd rounder and no go. So I am confused with part of this discussion.

Well he was a mid second in most rookie draft’s last season - so his owners would probably want some profit as in late first.
The thing is the Pat’s RBs have the stigma of Belichick’s whims so it may be tough to get that. Stevenson looked very good to me but I have to admit there’s no guarantee that Stevenson gets a bigger role in 2023 in Harris leaves (which is likely unless he has a soft market, which is possible with next years rookie class).
In your deal above, I’d say Irv Smith and White and maybe a late pick for Stevenson makes sense.

I think that is reasonable. I was hoping someone would take the deal with the 2nd. For now, he is still in my roster.
I’m pretty sure anyone would give a 2nd rounder for the trio of Smith, Toney and White. Right?! I know I would!

Hard to say, but I'm leery of obtaining NE RBs because you never know which one to own from one week to another. If it costs a 2023 2nd I'm not buying. If it was a 2022 2nd round pick I may be more inclined, but probably not.

I don't play FFPC. From what I gather roster spots are hugely valuable. Because of that it may diminish Stevenson's value because he is an upside gamble so it may not be worth it to use a roster spot on that type player.

QB acquisitions should be cheap, and low priority
until you fill out the rest of your team.
Qb can/should be the icing on your cake, in 1Q.

In my experience, counters like that are intended as sarcasm / impolite rejection. Like they’re rejecting AND telling you they thought “your offer was ridiculous, so here’s an even more ridiculous counter so you know how I feel”. kind of thing.
That owner is probably posting your Dobbins for Toney+2023 1st to a topic like this on some other forum.
