What Is Your Dog's Name? (1 Viewer)

I name my dogs after the characters in the movie Pulp Fiction, probably my favorite movie. Jules, an Olde English Bulldogge, died probably five years ago. I now have Mia, another Olde English Bulldogge, aged 3½. Both real sweethearts of a dog.
If you have a super smart dog you can name him Brad. Then when he does a trick you get to say "check out the big brain on Brad".

hmmmm... point of trivia... was it Brad or Brett? I always thought it was Brett.

According to this script, it's Brett.... https://stephenfollows.com/resource-docs/scripts/Pulp_Fiction.pdf

Yes, but SLJ says Brad. There is a theory that they left it in because he really didn't care what his name was.

prior to our current one (Jasmine), we named them after mountain ranges... Jasper, Sierra, Davos

One is named "Hunnie girl" .. Had to add the girl as she has a underbite and is bow legged so many would ask.. "What's his name"

So as not to break the pattern, we named the next dog "Koda Bear"

My beagle-hound mix is Leroy. At various times he is Leeroy Jenkins or Leroy Las Vegas.

I needed to come up with a name on the spot when he was found as a stray and I took him to the vet to check for a chip and get him checked out, so according to them, his name is Arf Garfunkel. That was immediately overruled by the kids and after much debate, eventually Leroy won out.

We have 3.

Bella - Min Pin we rehomed from a friend who couldn't handle her. She is 13 years old and having a lot of troubles with her epilepsy this year. I'm afraid her time with us is getting much shorter way too fast.

Roscoe - Bassett Hound / Bull Dog mix - Rescued from SPCA. His name from there was "X-MAN". Changed that RIGHT away. Lol.

Bentley - Havapoo - We rehomed him from a lady who couldn't keep him anymore.

Meghan

She's a rescue dog and we've had her for about 4.5 years. That was the name the rescue gave her. They also had a Harry at the time. Seemed to suit her so we kept it. AKA Meghan Mae Barkle. AKA Bear or Little Bear.

We thought she was a black lab mix but did the DNA test thing we found this:

How much did that run you? I’d love to do that for mine.
Embark Breed Identification Kit | Most Accurate Dog DNA Test | Test 350+ Dog Breeds | Breed ID Kit with Ancestry & Family Tree https://a.co/d/5juSGHR

Embark | Dog DNA Test | Breed & Health Kit | Breed Identification & Canine Genetic Health Screening https://a.co/d/9IIzq1n

$109 or $159. $159 gets a more indepth health study.

The two Beasts - Gonzo and Nike

Gonzo - 10 year old hound mix, had his name when we adopted him at like 7 or 8 months so we kept it. He is honestly more Eeyore then Gonzo but very loving. Was diagnosed with Lymphoma last April, given 4 to 6 weeks without treatment. Bit the bullet and did chemo for 4 months. He is in remission and just had his 10 month post diagnosis check and is doing great. Doctor said if he is still clean at his June appointment they consider him cured.

Nike - 19 month old Australian Shepherd named after the goddess of victory and sport not the sneakers. Met her the day she was born on the farm behind our house and brought her home at 8 weeks, Went through a ton of name ideas but nothing the four of us could agree on until Nike. Figured it fit because she was an athletic dog, my son is a serious soccer player and my wife teaches a course on mythology. We've always had dogs that were pretty smart but nothing like this one, she loves to learn and has the biggest personality.

Posted these in the UK song thread over the weekend, but sharing here as well.

Two pugs named Teddy and Martin. We lost our third pug, Bess, earlier this month. She needed emergency surgery for a urinary blockage caused by a bladder stone and her heart gave out.

Martin needed emergency surgery over the weekend to remove his gall bladder. Just brought him back home last night.

So, the emergency vet made some pretty good coin on me in January.

They are all named after Presidents and First Ladies.
