What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Forgot to add...

Asked my beer guy when I walked in "Got anything new?"

"A few, but you should come back tomorrow."

"Why?"

"Remember the name Pierre Celis? I'll have his new stuff tomorrow."

:pickle:
 No love for Pierre?

Wonder if Bentery has tried it yet?

Wasn't counting those. Actually have 13 of those left. So 120+ + 13.
133
120+ +13=133+ ;)
I really don't want to admit to how many total beers are in my house. :bag:
I had to satisfy my own morbid curiousity. So I counted. 144 total. Including 14 Hop Juice. Looks like I have an extra one to drink that I didn't count on. :darn:This does not include the one I just opened either. Or the Imperial I just finished. Looks like I have some work to do. :)

ETA: This does not include the 6 bottles of Westvleteren on order. I also have 100+ bottles of wine, some great (1997 Silver Oak) and some not so great (1999 Rabbit Ridge) and a few that I have no clue WTF they actually are (some dessert wine I think). I suppose that means I need to throw one heck of a good party.

Idea:

We should have an annual BIF Party. I'll host the Annual BIF Party #1. When's everyone free for BIF Bash 2006?

Been having good luck with finding Christmas beers lately...local store had a lone 6 pack of 2005 SN Celebration in stock :pickle: Drinking one now...man, this is good stuff.

Also grabbed some Aventinus and Hoegaarden.

Apparently I didn't stock my fridge with the BIF beers yet. :wall: Problem solved for tomorrow at least. But for tonight....

North Coast 2000 Old Stock Ale. This should be good.

Dude,Aren't those all AB products? Not sure why you're so excited. ####, you can probably ride your 10-speed down to the Piggly Wiggly down State Route 48 to get those. It figures though. Not like you sent him anything worth a #### either.

Must be Amatuer Hour over at the Furley house.

 guy i'm trading with right now is the founder of the Burgundian Babble Belt... he collects beers that he can't get locally.. then throws parties and passes the beers around for his friends.

now THAT's a party.

We'll consider Furley in, but just tell him the wrong place. No one tell him that though. TIA.

Had to 6-pack it and figured I could trade if I didn't like it. Pretty good. Too much head though, you got to pour the thing slowly. Man, this ####e made me gassy, too. I'm considering opening another tonight though I'm sure I'll be dutch ovening tonight if I do.

What confuses me is that this beer is listed as retired along with everything else brewed by Belfast Bay on the BA site. No wants/gots for any of the four beers they make and no recent reviews for any of them either. (Beer made May 06? and expires Oct. 06 according to bottle). The Belfast Bay site is under construction as well so I can't investigate any further there. I can't find a single article on the brewing facility shutting down. The brewing co. also has(had?) a brewpub but I'm not clear on the status of that.

I do see this on the website of some artist named Vicky Andres:

May 5, 2006 - Belfast ME - Belfast Bay Brewing Co.

What kind of a brewpub has Budweiser specials and giveaways on the night of its grand opening???? And how would it be a grand opening when the establishment has been there for so long?

This is one Maine mystery I fully intend on getting to the bottom of....

:hot:

Of course, not all counties can sell beer. Some can sell on Sunday, while others can sell only in restaurants on Sunday, and others can sell 6 days a week, but they can't sell any, including restaurants, on Sunday. Free the Hops!
Oh, I forgot about the dry counties down there. But we have a handful of dry counties ourselves. There are a few out here in the mountains. I remember going to visit some friends who moved about an hour away from here. I stopped by the grocery store for some beer and spent 15 minutes looking around for it, until I finally asked someone about it. There's a couple down east too.
Reminds me of the time me and two buddies went to f'n Pigeon Forge, TN, for a weekend. We only went there because somebody we knew had a free weekend at a timeshare they couldn't use. Well, we get there and decide to walk down the main drag about a mile to Ruby Tuesday or something like that. We were looking to get good and drunk so we didn't want one of us to have to drive back. Oh, and it was sprinkling off and on while we walked. You can see where this is going....we walk in and ask where the bar is.

"This is a dry county."  :loco: :hot:

However, it turned out they could sell beer in stores so not all was lost. That was a long walk back though. We were  the whole way. :lmao:

Should have driven 10 miles down the road to Gatlinburg - Smoky Mountain Brewpub is surprisingly good.

Double Simcoe IPA. :D

Had a Rogue Integrity IPA (limited release). A 100% amarillo IPA, with a pretty pail malt backbone. Still very good, and shows off the hops well.

Hmmmm... I have no idea if I could make it or not (two kids plus some other home issues) but if the date isn't the weekend nearest November 14th I'd seriously look at trying to make it.

I was diggin' the Double Simcoe the other day. Definitely a brewery making serious strides.

See this aggravates me. No not trout drinking good beer, I'm all for that. :banned: Why are westside beers showing up on the east coast first? Rogue specifically has done that numerous times...with NC come to think of it. Hmmm

Consider us officially on "bakes time". C'mon in, the water's fine.

Ok George, your morbid curiousity made me do something I really didn't want to do. Face how much beer I have. So I just got home and did a count.

1 Keg

1 Growler

7 750ml bottles

10 22oz bombers

251 12oz

Damn, I need to stop buying beer.

Too bad you can't blow this pictures up bigger, I'd like to see his collection better. I question some of them though...why have two sixers of Avery White Rascal aging?
I don't want to be argumentative, but are you sure that they're all Avery White Rascal and that's not just an Avery six pack box?
yeah I thought about that. He has plenty of space on the shelves to display the beer if he wanted to. And he has a lot of other 22oz Avery's.

My personal favorite...the Alesmith Speedway Stout with the old label. Very nice indeed.

You answered your own question. I've been to Minnesota once. St. John's College actually. Work near a guy on the trading floor here that went there. FYI - Minnesota is cold in the Winter. HTH.
