What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Four pages since I last logged in? I'm too tired to go back through them all. Let me know if I missed anything important.Oh, yesterday I got a box from NG with some Founders Breakfast Stout in it :yay:And now, Rogue Morimoto Black Obi Soba ale
We are trying to come up with the url for our new site. I suggested thebeerspot.com and reviews have been positive.

I feel like a proud papa with this name.

damnit, i really wish i knew my roommate better.
Why?
i guess i could call him my quadmate. not really roommate. hes the one that plays gears of war a lot.anyway, he's a sophomore in college and owns his own successful web business. i'm not 100% sure what he does but he owns websites and/or does some work with web space advertising. if i hadnt awkwardly not offered him and the other kid any of the dinner i made tonight, i woulda talked to him about it. but he was playing that damn game, too and i always feel uncomfortable saying hi when he has those headphones on.

So what is the overall goal of starting up a site?

Initially, only a place for our community to chat beer and whatnot. In the future, who knows. I guess we all will ultimately decide that.

NG and I will have control over who can and can't access the board, but furley will be let in. If for no other reason than to make fun of him/Green Bay.

So I can swear and post nude pics of you and the wife... gdb the beer talking.

GDB having to open the Green Flash Trippel...

I had a couple 22ozers and no dinner tonight, so I had to go with the lowest rated beer I had available. Sorry Trippel, you wont get the respect you need.

Yeah, I think we would be just a tad less pc than here. Could use more terms than mentally challenged or special.

Plus, being able to talk more beer without having to go to the BA forums or anywhere else. :banned:

What did you think of the Moylander?
The DIPA, I liked it better then the Dorado :banned:It was high middle of the line DIPA for me, as the Dorado was a mediocre DIPA IMO.Moylan's Kilt Lifter wasn't a good Scotch ale, and I wouldnt buy that one again

Long term, I would love to get a rating system there too. I hate having all of my reviews on a site that has a tendency to piss me off.

Mmmm I sure like belgian Trippels.
:banned:
I like them too. Not Skylord's cup of tea though, except for the Mad #####.
Tip Top knows too much about my beer drinking habits :banned:
I remember lots and lots of stuff that I don't always want to. Things like a semi rigid vent where I work retails for 15.99, has a cost of 4.66, and it's SKU is 3708526. This is info that I don't need taking up space.

:D I almost went to school there (recruited in Div II and III hoops and that hole named McAllister College wanted me to play for em). I loved the city, but not the School.Anywho, just picking on ya for playing with Semi parts.

That is too funny. I got asked to play at Macalaster myself. Bax works there. Small f'n world. And not semi parts. Venting for a dryer.

Duckboy's been going crazy trading lately. He and Gator must have some sort of contest going or something.
Just trying to get Abyss out to deserving beer drinkers :banned:
Glad you looked past the "deserving beer drinkers" part and sent me some anyhow. :banned: Your package will be mailed tonight on my way home from work. I had it all ready to ship yesterday and was on my way home and looking to stop by the dropoff place when I realized that I'd left my DHL shipping label on my desk at work. "####!" was all that came to mind at the time.On a different note, are there any decent beer stores in the vicinity of the Lloyd center? I'll be up in Portland for our company basketball tournament on March 10 and will be staying right by it. I may be up for seeing if you wanted to get a beer somewhere that weekend but not sure if I'll be able to do it though as I've got a good friend from college and his wife that I may be meeting up with if I get some free time. Also, I typically try to cornhole with General Malaise the weekend of that tourney as well and could make it a threeway if you were up for it. Typically involves beer and occasionally strippers.
Missed this a few pages back. Beaumont (per KT's rec) is probably the closest one, though it might not be too difficult to get to Belmont Station either. Beaumont is a primo spot for the Belgians; Belmont pretty much has everything. Not sure what the schedule would be for the weekend yet, but I'd be open to options.

We need to talk about most underrated beers in their style/category sometime soon... I hate following advice of BA or ratebeer's scale when heading to a new city to try brews out. I want personal opinions here, not a score there (cause I don't look your name up if you reviewed each beer).

I want to know what cities have underrated IPA/DIPAs, underrated Scotch Ales, Underrated Stouts(though not a huge stout man) etc.

I would love to get outside the box and try every one's specific underdog, rather then chasing the big "little" breweries beer.

I think Moylander doesn't get enough pub for being a good DIPA. Hopsickle for that matter. I absolutely love the Ballast Point Dorado DIPA, but that doesn't even make the top 100 at BA.

See I see it flipped flopped... but that is me, and that is what makes it all fun. moylaner>Dorado

All three are very good imo. I have had the Dorado much more recently, so those results could be skewed, but who knows.

I'm a fan of old ales; Papa Noel's Old Ale from Alameda Brewhouse is definitely an unknown to most. Not quite to HOTD Adam level, but imo close to Founders Curmudgeon and Bell's Third Coast Old Ale.From Pelican, India Pelican Ale is a pretty underrated IPA.

Looking at some of my reviews of DIPAs for beaglemac, here are some lesser known ones I rated highly.

Midnight Sun Cohoho IIPA

John Harvard's Demon DPA

Tyranena Hop Whore

Alpine Pure Hoppiness

Left Hand Twin Sisters DIPA

Southern Tier Unearthly IIPA

Town Hall Warrior DIPA

Skylord's your best shot for the Alpine. I'll second that this one is lesser known (still gets good ratings) but almost comparable to the big boys.

Will look for tomorrow while here, but can't see how a brew ranked a 91 at BA is underrated, but I will have to believe you.
