What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Ithaca Pale Ale

Little easy drinking after a few too many Flower Powers last night (and a Bomber of Little Sumpin Wild).
top 10 beer
Top 3 for me.
overall?
As far as beers that I have access to, absolutely.
I read a lot of talk about Flower Power, but being in Wisconsin I have no access to this stuff. Is it as good as all of you make it sound?

Had the FP on tap nice and fresh on Tuesday night. Delicious as always...
Heading to the brewery next Friday. I'll be picking up some 13 and a growler or two of F.P. It's extra special on tap....
LeBleu's coming out soon too, apparently. Possibly as early as New Year's.

Orlando Sentinel -- A fight over who gets to drink the "good beer" led to the arrest of a former Ku Klux Klan leader and his son in rural east Osceola County, the Sheriff's Office said.

Troy Hixon, 45, his girlfriend, another woman and his father, George Hixon, 73, were drinking Wednesday night when Troy Hixon threw his girlfriend down and began shooting into the ground near her, a sheriff's report states.

George Hixon served time in federal prison in the late 1980s for possessing an unregistered machine gun. When drug agents searched his home at the time, they found evidence that he was a leader of the Ku Klux Klan in Osceola County, they said at the time.

Troy Hixon's girlfriend, whose name was not released, told deputies that an argument began after she complained that she was forced to drink cheap beer while the men drank "good beer" — Budweiser, according to the report.
 The picture really rounds out the story.

2004 Samichlaus. It's pretty good.
Almost picked up one of these (not 04, though) for my Xmas beer this year, but it's so damn expensive...stuck with Delirium Nocturnum, Celebrator, and some Mad Elf - courtesy of my parents "I don't know if this is good, but I thought you might like it".

Yeah, that is where I got the Dogfish Head Burton Baton. My mom was like, "I don't know about this Fish Head stuff, but it is supposed to be good. The guy at the store said it was IRA and I know that is what you like- right?"

Picked up Viking Blod, I will be drinking this tomorrow. Errrr tomarrow
Keep us posted. Very curious about that one. It's a mead, right?Last night had:Noel De Calabaza on tap (very good)Silva Stout on Tap (fantastic)2 Yule Smith's on Cask (Awesome)Didn't know how I got so drunk after 4 beers, then I realized the Silva is 10% and the Yules are 9%. That's like drink 8 crappy beers. Taking the night off, but got a box of Chokolat, Cuvee 3, and Backwoods *******. Anyone ever had the ******* or the Cuvee 3?

Had Backwoods at a tasting last month. I didn't love it, but it also seems like something to drink slowly. Almost like it had to breathe. Better at the end than the beginning, so I'd suggest easing into it.

this thread rules, not because i care what some guy on the other side of the message board is drinking, but because I get to try beers I never heard off.

this is a great thing, thanks to everyone who posted.

******* is, IMO, extremely boozy. It's a very good beer, but I agree that it'll be a slower drink. Really complex though.Cuvee 3 was just released, finally. It's just a blend of Cuvee 1 and Cuvee 2 though, if you've had those. It was supposed to release long ago, but that never happened. I have a bottle of Cuvee 3 sitting in my cellar at the moment, I'll probably drink it within the next few weeks. I'm sure it'll be good but not spectacular, just like 1 and 2.Interestingly enough, I remember Cuvee 2 more fondly than 1, but checking my reviews of the two, I gave Cuvee 1 a much higher score. Maybe I'll pick up some of those to hold for a bit. ETA - IIRC, I tried 2 long before I tried 1. Not sure why I gave it a much lower score....I've had that one on tap too, unlike the 1, and usually I prefer the freshness from the tap, etc.I guess this means you won't be needing me to send Cuvee 3 anymore?

Arcadia Sky High Rye IPA- It doesn't have hit you over the head with hops or rye, but balances the two well. Despite being brewed in my home state, I had never tried this before. It will become a regular fixture.

I have met a woman from Oregon's board of tourism. The lady is falling over herself to send me some Oregon beers. What would be some top notch beers for her to send my way? My only experience with Oregon beers is Rogue and I have generally been disappointed. TIA

STill not sure exactly what a Grand Cru is supposed to be, but finishing of a bomber of Sierra Nevada 30th anniversary Grand Cru and I'm happy enough. A mix of oak-aged bigfoot, Celebration Ale and fresh pale ale.

Great choices, but those are easily had. Get her to flex her muscles and send you some Cascade. Some some to me while you're at it. Add don't settle for the Kriek or the Apricot either (great beers, but easier to get).

I think the label "Grand Cru" allows a brewer a ton of flexibility. Just a way to show off whatever style they want and call it their "masterpiece", if you will. Not 100% though.

Two of my absolute favorites: Ninkasi and Hopworks Urban Brewery. Both of those are likely harder to find outside the state.

;) I wasn't aware they were easy to get....I can't get ANY of those here. I've had a few Deschutes beers via trade. Never had any of the others.I don't know where the OP is at...if he's east coast like I am, it's possible that he can't get any of them either.

I thought Hair of the Dog and Full Sail got everywhere. Guess I was wrong there. Actully never heard of Pelican. Need to look into that one.

I am heading to the Ithaca Beer Co. on Friday and Le Bleu is releasing that same morning. If anyone wants me to pick some up for a trade, let me know.

Looking for Surly, Three Floyds, Cigar City and/or some other tough to find brews for us East Coasters.

Heading up to the WI Northwoods tomorrow. Looking forward to picking up some New Glarus (any) and Central Waters beers (specifically their Bourbon Barrel Stout and Cherry Stout). Might try to see if they have any Ale Asylum up there too.

Anything else I should be looking for? We get Sprecher, Point, Lakefront, and Tyranena here in Chicago.

Of course the timing is crap as picking up a bunch of beer contradicts one of my New Years resolutions...
