What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Anyone here keep their empty beer bottles? Or maybe one of each kind... I'm considering it where I'm just starting out with craft beers. I could imagine that with a large collection, transporting it would be a pain in the ### but I guess I'm just picturing myself in a big house some day with a game room and a shelf of 200 bottles on the wall. Would spark a lot of storytelling, I'm sure.

Wouldn't go as far as this guy.
One of our flooring vendors is owned by a man named Ted Shuler. Up until about 10 years ago he was in the Guiness Book of World Records for having the largest unopened beer bottle collection in the world. Their home office is here in Memphis and one day a couple of years back I had to go over there. While there my sales rep took me back to meet Mr. Shuler and tour the "beer room". I'm going off memory here but I want to say it was around 10 to 12,000 bottles and no two were alike (somewhere I have his American Breweriana Association business card that has all the facts).I guess now that I know a little bit about beer I need to go back over there and check it out again.

ETA - not sure if the number is correct that I posted above. In 1995, he had 4145 from 106 countries.

Beer bottle sort collection:

Peter Broeker (* 1943) from Geesthacht (SH) gathered a sort collection of 8527 Bierflaschen from 114 countries with 1990 different breweries. The foreign portion amounts to 37.84 per cent. Stacked on top of one another they would result in a tower height of 1909 M. all bottles are still originals filled up. (Conditions: March 1995). The beer bottle collection of the American Ted Shuler from Germantown, threshing floor lake, covers 4145 different Bierflaschen from 106 countries (conditions: May 1995). Also the EDP operator Klaus Hofmacher (* 1940) gathers different Bierflaschen in his beer museum in mountain home. Until April 1991 it brought it on 5.589 bottle beers from 88 countries, among them all Kölschsorten, all Belgian and Dutch Trappisten and monastery beers.

I'm not sure where they're from, but my beer guy said he has some new Pierre Celis beers in. I have some on hold. Hoping it's good. :banned:

Nope, we delivery Appliances and TVs out of the warehouse.  I work for a company that many people on this board seem to hate.
Wal-Mart?
:goodposting: But no.
It has to be Best Buy.
 That would be my guess.
Yep. My guess too
 And as much as people hate them, they are great to work for.
I worked part-time in Inventory for a Best Buy store for a few years, working mostly truck nights. Spent more than I made almost every week. GB that employee discount.

yup, 21. still think it would be a good, cheap way to decorate (I know that sounds gay) a mini pool hall in a house.

If you start using the term "window treatments" when discussing this, then we'll have an issue.Or Furley will show up at your door nekked. Not sure how you feel about that.....

Have an invite for myself and a guest to the Surly tour tonight. Bax was going and cancelled and none of my other friends really want to go since they all drink piss beer. Wonder if they will let me drink for two if I go alone? :banned:

####ingA furley talks a lot.
what in the mother####ing hell are you talking about, guy?
I think he is saying that you talk a lot.
It's kind of annoying. There's a guy on our softball team like this. Never stops. If he sits down on the bench by me, I have to get up.Same thing at the bar afterward... :hophead:
:lmao: thanks for the input buddy!
I am sure he hurt your feelings there, huh?

Can't you just not go into the beer threads to avoid about half of one percent of his posts?
Fixed.

If there was any question that this is ***OFFICIALLY**** a clique, the fact that a good 1/2 of the posts in here are no longer about beer should resolve any remaining doubt.

LMMFAO @ telling posters to leave the beer thread...

It was just an observation, is all...it's true. LAUGH..or don't...but don't cry.

Furley talks A LOT. There now. See, not so bad.

Jesus, have a beer, it's Friday. :banned:

I wasn't requesting that you leave, just surprised that you were in here at all. Normally it is only about 10-15 differents people checking in here. Just wondering what brought you in.

Come on ####ers! Two bombers of Stone IPA down and on my way to bevmo to fill and order for a trade and restock my mini fridge. :banned:

Where's the beer crew? :(

The Celis White was pretty good. Hoegaarden like with a bit more tartness. Drinkable, but not something to go crazy over. I'm not the biggets wit fan anyway.

Drinking a Stone IPA too. I have a couple of Vertical Epics, and I might have one of those later. Also sitting on a Ruination. All Stone, all the time ... at least tonight.

The Epics won't be over this way for another week or so. :(
