What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/220/30228

Sampled this baby last night.    Basically its a tribute ale to the fact that Lagunitas got shut down for a month because an ATA agent busted the brewery workers smoking weed in the brewery.     Its a DIPA with a maltier backbone.   Alot of these popping up.

I give it a 3.9  - beer
Lots of people are saying that's a good one. I will have to get my hands on one.
I'll pick you one up when I get back to whole foods.
Not sure, but Skylord might have already done so for the trade that I sent on monday. Not that it would be a bad thing to double up, but I am sure there are many many more things I need to try from the West Coast.
What's on your list?
Don't know what will be on/off until after the trades with Skylord and FatMax are completed. I wouldn't want to take away beers that one of them might have been planning to send me. I will get back to you.
I've got one of em but I can drink it for myself (haven't rated it yet). So if Fro wants to send one, go for it. I've got other beers I can send.
I have one here I was going to send. Actually, I have about five of them total. I stocked up last time I saw it just in case it doesn't show up again.

Awe crap. That's for me and I'm not at work today. And they spelled her name wrong.
 I don't know peoples' work schedules.
Monday through Friday, normally, but the G/F had a minor surgury this morning and I had to cart her to and from the clinic. She's still sleeping while I play around on the internet.

Nothing major. Just some dental work that they felt the need to knock her out for. She's fine, but thanks for the well wishes.Currently drinking a Two Palms Sand Dune IPA, which easily qualifies as one of the worst beers I have had since I began reviewing. I'll save one for you, Tip Top. Actually, I'll save five.

J/K, of course.

I have yet to be impressed with any of Pyramid's offerings.

Agreed. If I had known who brewed it when I picked it up, I wouldn't have bought it. Pyramid and/or Portland Brewing isn't mentioned anywhere on the lable. It actually says that it is from Two Palms Brewing Company, Berkeley, CA. Fooled me, the bastards.

 Fricken sweet! I thought it was our trade box. I didn't know I was getting a random box too! Right on. The only beer of those four I have tried is the BWFH (and it is a pretty damn good IPA). Thanks TT.

Not that it matters, because they both suck, but I think you might be confusing them with them. The latter, where my crappy IPA was brewed, doesn't advertise any of their beers under the Pyramid label. I'm not sure if they are related, though.

I was thinking of the first one.

Yeah, my store carries lots of their crap. Never even look at it anymore.

After a little research, it turns out that they are now under the same ownership, hence the confusion (even on my part). Link.

Well, at least that's only one brewery making mediocre beer then.

I'm about to embark on an 001 Beatification.

I'm almost nervous :bag:
I have a tale of woe and intrigue with that beer. Ordered 3 of each batch online a few weeks ago, but had to have it shipped to a friend's in IL since IN is in the dark ages when it comes to shipping booze. My buddy works from home, so it should be no problem, right?

Wrong. The shipment arrives while he's apparently out of town, and they make 3 delivery attempts while he's gone. Next thing we know, the tracking page says it's being held at the "Schaumberg" location. Only problem is there are like 8 FedEx locations in Schaumberg, and we keep missing each other over the holiday week.

By the time we get an actual person to find out just where it's being held, they've sent it back to the shipper.

But, a potentially happy ending to the story - I e-mail Russian River, explain the situation, and not only will they re-ship as soon as it arrives, they're not going to charge me for shipping a second time.

Big  to Vinnie and Natalie Cilurzo. This time, I'm tracking that mofo all the way across the country.

NG:  how close are you to Hwy 39?
He's in Wilmette
what are the chances that he moves to a Northwestern suburb of Chicago in the next couple weeks? low?
How would I know? You know him as well as anyone on this board.
:hot: we "know" each other in the Biblical sense
sure.......
i miss Nuclear George
Wrong guy. That was Gator's alias.
He knows of what he speaks. You dont think he was talking about you, do you? Come on now. ;)

Furley,

Why did you axe about HWY 39? Will you be camping out there or something? Hitch-hiking that route? What's the scoop?
traveling down that way at the end of the month.. there's SOME potential that i pass back through Chicago on the way through. POTENTIALLY.hide the wife and kids

IPA or Imperial IPA. The Imperial is what you usually see in 4 packs. It is top notch.

IPAHe may have busted up a 6 pack to give to someone else.

Had the Grand Cru over at the Pump Station. George (brewer) calls it a Grand Cru because it's a f-up: supposed to be a hefeweizen with 40% Munich malt, but the Hefe yeast went bad so he used his witbier yeast.

Oh. My. Freaking. God. is this stuff drinkable. No hop character whatsoever but the maltiness combined with the yeast esters... ahhh!!! :banned:

Also had an Old Musty barleywine - English style, with lots of deeply caramellized malt balanced by a solid underlying bitter hoppiness. If they bottled this I'd buy a case and sit on it for a year or two just to let it develop. But they don't, so next spring it'll appear on tap, aged in a 45 degree cooler for 9 months, and cause socks to be knocked off all over the Capitol region.

I just love working next door to this brewpub.

ETA: Finishing off the growler of Cascazilla in my Beckenbauer stein. No idea what's next, but I am freaking *primed.*

Sneaky bastage Tip Top. I certainly wasn't expecting a surpise package. Received a 2004 Old Stock Ale and a 2004 Celebration ale :excited:

In the spirit of things, I think I'll be sending out a surprise package as well. Tip Top, sounds like you have the best selections of addresses right now. I'll pm you an email address so you can send em to me.

Christmas in July resumes.

I agree. Unexpected good beer is the best.

Skylord, when are you popping the Beermann's? I'm still intersted to hear what you think.

:goodposting: I will be sending out three Sniper Packages(insert little TM thing here.) on monday upon my return from a small vacation.

Less than 100 posts until this is the 4th longest thread in the FFA. Then it will be difficult to move up again. Nuke, back to work.
We're up by 23 now. I hope they start a new thread for Lost Season 3. Having a HopDevil right now, and am tempted to crack open the Vertical Epic 06.

VE06 could use a little time to mellow out, but it is still a damn good beer without any aging. I havent' reviewed it yet, but going off of memory, I probably would have given it a 4.3 or so.

From Flying Saucer:

Redhook Sunrye

Terrapin Rye Pale Ale

Stone IPA
Headed to Nashville for a couple of nights this Sunday and Monday. I'll be staying at the hotel next to the Flying Saucer. I really like the Terrapin also. I've got a few of the Rye Squared in the fridge. Think I'll go get one.
