What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (6 Viewers)

Quiet around here tonight. Seems like Tip Top has been going out on the town more than normal, no?
:bye:
Hey FullerThere's a guy named Alaskaiscold in Tennessee that needs his ### kicked. If you see him, can you give him the once over for me? TIA
sure. Will he be wearing a nametag?
I would start at the top of the list and work your way down. Don't touch Arizonaiswarm though, that guy is ok.
:scribblesnotestoself: Can this all wait until tomorrow?
I've got nothing but time.
Could you come up with a city so I don't hav e to drive as much? Gas prices is a d|ck.

He's a moving target. Currently Cleveland, Tennessee but that could change. Stay nimble, pack light and be ready for anything.

I went to a movie theatre tonight that served beer. They even had Chimay. First time I've ever seen this.

Is this commonplace where you guys are?

Do you also get a handie while watching the film?No this is not common place.
I wish, that would have been perfect.I went to see Talladega Nights :bag:
I heard there was a theatre in LA that served beer but I've been unable to prove it. A theatre I visit has a bar in side the actual theatre complex, but you can't take beer inside the theatre. And they have Amstel light, not Chimay. Bastards.Doesn't stop be from brown bagging the theatre.

We have a theater in my old hometown (about 30 miles away) that serves beer, but certainly not Chimay. Macro for the most part, Sam Adams is as good as it gets. link

This reminds me that I had a dream last night where we went out to eat with some friends, and the restaurant surprisingly had great beer list including recently-added St. Bernardus. I was ecstatic. I don't think I'll tell my wife about that one.

The Crest Theatre in downtown Sacramento serves beer, but it is in a refreshment area. You can't take it to your seat, which pretty much defeats the purpose. Ironically enough, the last time I was there was to see the Pink Floyd laser light show and they seemed to have no problem with people firing up their bongs during the show.

Still no sign of the 60th Anniversary Abt 12. : :( Picked up a Foret which is what I am drinking now, and also a 6 pack of Abita 20th Anniversary Pilsner. Now, I normally would not pick up an Abita, but the beer clerk at the store gave it rave reviews and this guy has good taste in beer. Its also getting pretty good reviews on BA, and I am always looking for really good pilsners to try (not a lot of good ones out there).
I'll have 6 on Monday. Maybe more on Wednesday (from a different place). And my "normal" place is going to try to get more. :fingerscrossed: since I promised several out.The Abita is supposed to be really good. Winston is sending it for our BOTM club. :pickle:
Ive got half a case of the 60th on the way...should be in my hands lo later than Thurs-Fri

tapped an Okocim Porter - gawdawful
WTF is wrong with you?
:goodposting: I thought that it was easily the best porter I have had to date.
I think the issue that some people may have with it is that fact that its a lager. I found the taste to be more like a dopplebock than a 'traditional' porter. Damn good, and I will be drinking these with a bit more regularity once the weather cools down.

It blurred the line for sure, but no matter what you call it, I thought it was very good.BTW, you're up in the draft.

I plan on doing a taste test between the 90 minute and the 60 minute Dogfish IPAs.I will update with my thoughts if you give a ####.
Of course we do. Update at your leisure. If you can get the 120, feel free to do a full flight of the 60-90-120 min IPAs. I was pretty woozy after I tried it.

was gonna do the same at some point. interested to hear your thoughts.Never had the 90 minute, and IIRC the 60 was somewhat "ho hum".
The 60 and 90 are like night and day, as should be expected with an IPA and an IIPA. The 60 is rather tame (although tasty), but the 90 in pretty intense. The 120 is a different animal altogether. Drinks like a cordial.

I wonder, is it suggested to age the 120? Generally you like to drink IPA (and other "hoppy" beers) fresh as they lose their hoppy characteristics over time. But the 120 has so much alcohol you'd almost need to sit on it just to make it palatable. I guess I should check the cellaring threads.I hope its recommended to cellar, I've got a 2004 sitting in my fridge

Well the label says "Ages well", and it also says "Drink now or age for a decade or so". Heres a 120min label I just scannedhttp://img237.imageshack.us/img237/3927/dfh120mj6.jpg

I can only imagine that it would mellow out with age, and lose some of the hoppiness, which I found to be lacking in the first place.

the Asheville Pizza Company or something like that?I went there last year when I was on vacation. The place was packed and we couldn't get a table. :sadbanana:

Andelot Cuvee Diabolique this afternoon. BA says it's a Triple, but it isn't. It's a Belgian Strong Pale, guaranteed. Pretty tasty beer.

Dude, I failed. I didn't get them out. But I promise I will soon. You have to trust me. I suck at this kind of ####. If you just realize that it will be out sometime soon. It will show up. I hate deadlines. But trust me. You will be rewarded for your patience.

WhyTF didn't you PM me? Wait, that was before the salad dressing incident, we didn't know each other as intimately then. Yep, Asheville Pizza. Pretty good IPA and Stout. Not worldbeaters or anything, but really good locally made beers.

I had only had the 90 minute prior to now...I thought it was ok, but not worth the hefty price. After having this 60 minute (have yet to have the 90 today), I LOVE it! I would rather drink the 60 over the 90 if I remember correctly.I am about half done with the 60, and will update again, but this is my first thoughts. 60 is less bitter IMO, and smooooooth. Wish I had more.

Finally! The little new brewery down the road is finally finished and they'll start brewing this week. Starting with the brown ale then to be followed by a pale. Hope they're good. It would be nice to have something else local to send out.

Where is local, again?

The 60 is a really good beer. But lets put it this way. They are always next to each other when I go purchase beer. It has been at least 6 months since I picked up a 6 pack of the 60. GB the 90 minute (although it can be a tad sweet at times).

BTW, the Abita Pilsner is pretty good. Its a bit on the sweet side, and not as hopped as I was hoping, but it goes down really well and is better than most attempts as Pilsers by American brewers. Ranked third behind Victory's Prima Pils and the Hop Pocket Pils (3'Cs should know about this one).

Well I retract my thoughts...The 90 may be a bit sweeter then the 60 minute. I love this beer as well. Don't care for the hefty price for a 4 pack ($10), over the 60 minute's price. But beer for beer this is a close race (in which I love both), but the 90 gets the win here. Great stuff, and look forward to drinking the next 2. :banned:
