What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

[TT, how do these two compair?
Which two?
I think he's talking about the Stone 10th and GI Imperial.
Hmmm...Stone 10th is way more piney and maybe a touch less balanced. Sounds like a nice head to head for someone.
I would have, but I'm out of the 10th. Shoulda saved some from their "fate".
I have plenty of both (case of GI IIPA and 8 bombers of 10th). I think I still have a 05 GI IIPA, so I could do a side by side by side.
I have at least 8 of the 2005 GI Imperial. Plenty to share if you like.

:yucky:The Pinieness was my main problem with the 10th. I look forward to the GI IIPA even more now. If I can find a 10th, I wouldn't mind giving it a second chance and doing the side by side.
Then send me another 10th as part of your end of the trade and I'll join in. I'll box up a 2005 GI Imperial and a 2006 for you to do the same.ETA:I also know you have some Imperial 2006 coming from Orca, so maybe you have that covered. I can send just the 2005 if you want.

Let me see if I can snag a 10th. :bag:

Went to the beer store to see if there was anything new. Got a Corsendonk Christmas, Scaldis Noel and a 6 pack of Abita 20th (BOTM2 guys might find that amusing). But, what's good about my visit was the owner gave me a bottle of Thomas Hardy Ale for Christmas. 2006 vintage. Number 56 of 25000. I'll need to let it age. Maybe I'll have it on my 50th birthday. 50..#### that's old.

I really like the Corsendonk this year. The 2003 Scaldis Noel I had at Town Hall this week was superb.

Winston anyone?Suprised to see the Abita still around. I had some this summer and thought it to be a pretty decent American pilsner. Not sure how it will taste now though. I would drink that ASAP.

I plan on it. I was suprised to see it too. Never saw it during the summer/fall. All of a sudden it shows up. Had to get a six pack for the "humor" of it all. I should have bought 2 and sent 1 out to each of the BOTM2 guys...including Winston.ETA: Lots of recent reviews on BA. Not sure why. Maybe they brewed more and it made it up our way, or someone sat on a bunch and finally released it. :pics:

IPA, IPA IPA

Michigan Brewing High Seas

Founders Centenial

Arcadia IPA

I will be on a IPA binge for quite some time (as it is what I have been on forever) due to my overstocking.

im gonna crack open my yulesmith winter. really looking forward to this.what's your longest bender...anybody?
Define "bender". I had two weeks off for Spring/Easter break my Freshman year in college. We left Friday afternoon right after classes to go to Daytona (driving about 16-17 hours). Stayed there for almost the full two weeks and came back the weekend before we had to start classes. I'd say I was sober the first morning we got there then did not have a "sober day" until the Saturday before classes started. So that's 14 straight days of non-sober activity. Basically it was me and my room-mate. We were supposed to meet people down there, but never found them. He looked hard that first day too. I said, "You have fun, I'm gonna find something to do". He basically spent the entire first week looking for them, while I spent my entire first week meeting people and hanging out anywhere I ended up that night. Did not see him for probably 4-5 days that first week. Started to get curious how I'd get home if he left me there. But I had a credit card, money and could at least take a flight out at some point. One morning, I remember waking up hung over floating in a floatie chair in the hotel pool of some girls from Toronto I had met the night before. Good times. So if you define a "bender" as number of days straight without being sober for an entire day, but not necessarily drunk the ENTIRE time, then my answer is 14 days.

College. :cry:After college? Thursday evening through Monday afternoon, 4th of July weekend, 1989. Four friends and I went through 12 cases of Labatts Blue. Doesn't sound like much until you realize that we were out at bars drinking for at least 8 hours a day on each of those days, in addition to the Blue. Never had a hangover because we never sobered up. Got up in the AM and if you were vertical, someone shoved a beer into your hand. My buds and I look back on that weekend and still try and figure out how we did it.

I still can't drink Labatt's Blue to this day. I went to Lake Erie one year for largemouth fishing (Port Clinton, OH for those in the know). Started drinking the Blue at about 5am one morning, had some breakfast sandwich from the local Bob Evans, and a load of shortbread cookies. And let me tell you.....the sea was angry that day. I went over the side chumming the water after the first 20-30 minutes of "angry seas". Still can't drink the Blue, eat shortbread cookies, or look at anything resembling a greasy breakfast sandwich with sausage patty on a lard biscuit. The fishing was ####### fantastic that day for some reason though. Everyone caught their limit.

Most any time I drink hard liquor. This doesnt count the time I was sick as a dog and went out with my brother in law in downtown towny Oriskany and had about a dozen Utica Club drafts.

Calling it a night.. may be M.I.A. tomorrow. Gotta run some errands, but I am stopping by Founders for a couple beers early, and then party with the pals... have a good one, and be jealous of my Founders binge :lmao:

Broke into the Flying Dog Variety Pack I got for my birfday...having an Old Scratch Amber Lager at present.

Not bad. A little heavier than most lagers, but not bad at all.

Nice avatar
It looks sort of like someone else's avatar. Not sure what it's from though.Abita 20th. Pretty good. Being a pilsner, it would probably be better if it was 80 degrees outside instead of 50.

These are one in the same for me. The best bender I had was the last time I puked.Vegas '04, for a buddy's bachelor party. Left Fresno at 11am friday with a ice chest full of PBR ( :) ). Drank until 6am the next morning, rinse repeat until monday. That first night was amazing though. Portuguese wine and whiskey floating around. The puke happened about 2am on the back of a taxi parked outside Cheetahs, and the two pillars out side the front door. Got a lap dance and a rum and coke and moved on. ;)

I can't even remember. For that matter, when's that last time I had LESS than two beers in a night? Again, no clue.
fixed
You must not know Furley and me very well....... :)

:coffee: Ok, this guy appears to be in the Atlanta area. I MUST become his friend somehow.
He is KP on the Beer Advocate boards. I actually met him when he took a trip up to Asheville. He was kind enough to bring up some now defunct Dogwood Barleywine and Imperial Porter. Really good stuff. Apparently the former brewer of Dogwood is going to be the brewmaster at an Atlanta brewpub (Embers in Alpharetta). As far as meeting him, they are having a meetup at the Brick Store Pub in Decatur on June 11th.
I ran into this guy again last night. He still has some Dogwood Barleywine, which is now aged three years. The beer was never sold to the public, and it is too bad, because it is fantastic.Had a few too many last night.

So, you end up liking it? You were worried about spices.

Buying beer online sorry if this is an-thread-honda, the best I have is:

Fresh Direct

Are these prices any good? I live in nyc and buying beer anywhere here seems like a rip off - often paying per bottle prices, so if the beer is $2.5 a bottle a 6 pack is ~$20 :loco:

So, I went to the Packer game last night. Got a phone call during tailgating from a buddy of mine who came down from MNPLS. He said,"We have to meet up - I've got something for you."

I never expected it to be 2 growlers of Town Hall #9. Now I can see what all the hype over this place is about! :banned:

Merry Christmas, all!

that's 3 or 4 nights of drunkenness right there.

9 is good, but not as good as some of their offerings. Their take on Houblon.

No doubt. Here's a link to links to quite a few online beer stores: Link

How's the hangover?

I plan on many beers tonight after I get into Chicago. I know that there is at least a 4 pack on 90 minute and a 6er of 2006 Anchor OSA waiting for me.
