Ok, so somone has beers at their front door this morning.
 late nite for the furley's last nite. i just stepped out my door a few minutes ago and saw a box from Hanford, CA! :loco: :D :lmao:

unfortunately it was a 6-pack of Big City Ice

seriously though.. it was a tall bottle of Gulden Draak!

Gator> if we ever cornhole, i suggest you watch your cornhole.
 Gator.....

...run.

What does this mean:

Traditional = A brewer who has either an all malt flagship (the beer which represents the greatest volume among that brewers brands) or has at least 50% of its volume in either all malt beers or in beers which use adjuncts to enhance rather than lighten flavor.
within the context of this?Maybe an example using a current craft brewer?

And it's interesting that I have always held that pretty much any domestic brewer is a microbrewer (except for Boston Beer Co.) but that is not the case. Once you hit the 15000 barrel (x31 US gallons) mark, you're a regional brewer.

I saw it on the shelf at bevmo when i went to get some beer for NG. I said #### it, furley can't get it, i'll send him one.
you're the guy, guy :banned:

doing another side-by-side tonight and will probably pass out 3/4 through this one.

belgian strong dark ale:

allagash odyssey vs. Brasserie Des Rocs Triple Impériale

again, side-by-sides are the hottest thing since sliced bread.
You got yourself a couple nice brews there.. hope you don't pass out and waste any of em.
I realize I have a trappistes 8 in the basement right now so i'll probably compare that one head to head against the des rocs tommorrow night. i try not drink more than a beer or 2 a night because i just dont have the cash flow right now to do that.enjoy the hopslam. i'll still be cracking open the odyssey in a bit.

Let me know how it is.
Drinking yours first down?

Drinking yours first down?
Damn skippy it is! Mine's in my wine cellar gaining age and complexity as I type.So drink up, Johnny!
Ok, i'll let you know.
To be honest, that's kinda just my excuse for not having the balls to actually drink something that rare. I'm such a #####. :pickle:
How rare is it? I see it's a rotating release.
I recall someone telling me they ain't making any more of it. Maybe that was bad info. Either way, I don't even ####### see it here, but some guy in Florida can get SHIPLOADS of it. It's from MICHIGAN for Pete's sake. The eColi from our beaches in Chicago floats over there, but I can't get a ####### KRE to save my life except from the "dope dealer" in Florida. Although, if they use that same eColi infested water, maybe I don't want to open that one downstairs. So....Gator let me know how that goes for you, okay?

The guy im getting from is in Mich. I am way too impatient to not try it soon after arrival.

Pretty soon, there will be another brewery from Michigan we can't try. That place is an outhouse compared to FFFs, TB and Founders. And I won't name it :beaglemacsig: I don't recall seeing anything from Kuhnhenn ever here. Must be next to the New Glarus at Binny's.

it's on my top 10 'want-to-try' list. something like this couuuld make it on-tap to a boston bar like the publick house or redbones. too bad i'm always too lazy to wander over to try the rare stuff these places get on tap. ####### natty light drinking friends. they always want to go to margaritas, this bland mexican-themed joint whose best beer MIGHT be guinness or negra modelo. ####!

Allagash Dubbel ReserveEG>
it's hard not knowin' how widely distributed allagash is. it's pretty much the taste of maine when it comes to beer but i have a feeling everyone can get it making it all the less special.that said, i haven't tried the double yet. other than curieux this is the last allagash i havent tasted aside from their anniversary line.

If you had jsut said "margaritas" we could ahve pictured the place.
these friends of mine fight over what they find to be the tastiest margaritas. meanwhile i've tried this drivel and find it to be repulsive. meanwhile, they look at me funny for not wanting to drop hard-earned cash on something like guinness. damn, i need to find some people that are into good brews on campus. i would've done this by now but had to transfer and 'tis only my second year at this school.

:banned: Heard it from the brewer himself when I was at Kuhnhenn last June. It just costs too much to make and they cant justfiy putting that much into brewing it again, even at $10 a bottle (its only 6.2oz or something). I bought the second to last 24/case the brewery ever sold. If I had another $250 to spend there (spent 320+ as it was) I probably woulda took the other case....but I had lots of Bells, etc to bring home, too.
