What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

5 days 12 hours 51 minutes
I'll take the under... with the SB coming up, something tells me there is gonna be chatter about the brews people brought out. Plus, if I may, I am sure the Skylord hole can draw a little conversation. UNDER for the bank!
I have ~1500 posts. I'll just delete some to make it take longer. :D
Talk to me here.. If I drink one 22 oz beer with 12% alcohol, how many 12 oz bud lights does that equal?
consolidating posts. :( About 4.5 would be my guess.
Yeah but you are also forgetting people #####ing at NG and TT for getting their new board up, and NG trying to be the top dawg (posts) here.
It'll never happen. TT posts in here like Furley does over the rest of the board. Doh! You made me post again.

:hey:

Possible beagle meeting tonight :hey: ...will know shortly.
:hey:
Just got off the phone. It's a go. I'm headin' to the greatest par 3 in all of golf this weekend. :hey:  So yeah Mike, only night left for me is tonight.Meet ya at Ercole's? 1 hour?
That works... Huntington beach rd right?
:D Manhattan Beach Blvd will work too. Then left at Manhattan Ave. :(

How does one find how many posts they have in this thread?
You're doing that on purpose aren't you?! :hot:
 No, I seriously don't know... then I am done unless someone brings up something to chat about... a bit slow it seems.I am taking notes on the underrated brews though.
click on the "replies" part next to this thread link when you're reading the board index. Or, click here. Surprising how much Gator has posted. I was ahead of him, then we were close for a while. Now he's way far away. He should pass Skylord soon and start closing in on TT in another couple of years.

Go to the main FFA index, where all the thread titles are. See the number of posts underlined next to the beer thread title? Click that and a tile pops up with every single person who has posted in the thread. Works for any thread.

I blame you.

New Glarus Hop Hearty. Nice English/US hybrid IPA, especially the combo of Goldings and Cascades. Was poking through the beer cellar and found a 12 pack box of what I thought was empties. Wrong. A bunch of brews that must have been sitting there for *years.* Found a AAA Brewing Co. Dunkelweiss (that facility's been gone since maybe 1999? Now the bottling brewery for Lake Placid), Tremont Porter (when they had their own brewery), DFH Immort Ale from about 2002, Wagner Sled Dog Doppelbock, Upper Canada True Bock... all kinds of stuff, like an all star selection from the "No Longer Reviewable" library on BA. There's a case box next to it and I'm afraid to open it.
It's a decent enough beer, but nothing real special. You know you have to open that case. That and try some. You can always furley it afterwards.

 surprised, was a late comer to this sub-clique.

this has been a good beer week for ol' furley

rec'd my 4th package of the week

today's contained:

Pizza Port Santa's Little Helper

Pizza Port Old Viscosity

why is this one considered an american strong ale? seems more like an RIS though the only stong ales I have to compare them to are Stone's offerings (maybe Stone's aren't traditional strong ales?)needless to say, i didn't know that there was an "older viscosity." now on my wants list.

I had the Viscocity last year... not too bad, but it wasn't my type of beer.I would love to try the Little Helper.

I have both downstairs. Bax shared his Old Viscosity with me a few weeks ago. I definitely don't think it is a RIS. I think it is more of an Old Ale.

Seems to have survived well - foamy, but still has its toffeeish flavor intact. Not a drain pour.

i wonder how many barrels o the older were produced. I havent had much experience w/ old ales but I was under the impression that they were close to barley wines. BA reviewers seem to have just as much trouble pegging this one down as I do.

That is quite the nice surprise. How big is your cellar that you "lose" a full case?

Can't wait to crack that one (thx, Skylord!) - BW or Old Ale, two of my favorite styles.Reminds me - I need to get out to the Cape soon. Cape Cod Brewing Co just released their Old Ale on tap for growler fills. Plus they set aside 55 gallons in a oak barrel to age. THAT will be fun. Should be out sometime this summer. I really like that brewery - solid IPA with a good hop bite, excellent seasonals.

:nerd:
Not that big - it's a weird long skinny space (maybe 5-6' x 15') behind the kids' playroom that has shelves and a LOT of crap in it, in addition to beer. One shelf I rarely go to because it's mostly full of my wife's canning stuff. Someone who shall not be named except for in the prior sentence rearranged the room a couple of years ago. I didn't see them and figured I'd had drank those over time and... They weren't on the barleywine and big ale shelf, where is where I would have put them, rather than behind a 12 pack of cheapass beer surrounded by boxes of grape jam. :hot:

Damn, Duckboy sent me some really nice beer.

12oz Hair of the Dog Rose Cassis

22oz Oregon Trail Bourbon Barrel Porter #1

22oz Oregon Trail Bourbon Barrel Porter #2

Duckboy, whats the difference between the two? Vintages?

 The #1 is the last one I have of last year's bottling. Had one last about mid-August, and was still a little over-the-top on the bourbon, so should be just about right. The #2 is this year's bottling. my understanding was the brewery (which is a pretty small outfit) wasn't going to do the Bourbon Porter again, but lo and behold it was out. My local store owner said it was running about the same time frame as the #1 (guessing they got new barrels), so the #2 I sent you should get put up for a while.

Well, my guess is the larger box with a slightly later ate would be one of the first not on the truck, but I'm surprised too. Wouldn't have been much I can do about it tonight though - had a party for a co-worker at a local brewpub (had a couple of 20 oz cask conditioned stouts  ) and prepping for a promotional interview tomorrow morning. Trust me, will be hitting it heavy tomorrow night though :banned:

Everything I have shipped to the east coast has taken exactly on week. If I ship on a Monday, it will arrive the following Monday.
