What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Damn, Duckboy sent me some really nice beer.12oz Hair of the Dog Rose Cassis22oz Oregon Trail Bourbon Barrel Porter #122oz Oregon Trail Bourbon Barrel Porter #2Duckboy, whats the difference between the two? Vintages?
:banned: The #1 is the last one I have of last year's bottling. Had one last about mid-August, and was still a little over-the-top on the bourbon, so should be just about right. The #2 is this year's bottling. my understanding was the brewery (which is a pretty small outfit) wasn't going to do the Bourbon Porter again, but lo and behold it was out. My local store owner said it was running about the same time frame as the #1 (guessing they got new barrels), so the #2 I sent you should get put up for a while.
Awesome

SLBD and I for a few brews... Nothing worth while as we hit up a bar that had no selection. Needless to say it was a good time as it always is.

Skylord tomorrow, and I am sure there will be brews galore to enjoy!

Hello beerthreadguys. Just bought my first Belgian Ales and I would like to confirm appropriate temperature for drinking.

For now I have put them in an unheated room lets say 55-58 degrees. This is better than refridgerating, ya?

TIA

TT, Skylord, anyone with more experience, please correct me or add to what i've wrote if any of this incorrect.standard fridge temp should be a little less than 40 degrees. personally, i think the beer will take way too long to warm up if you keep it in there for a long time. i usually just store mine dry and then stick in the fridge for a little over a half hour before i'm ready to drink. that way, it's chilled for a while but the flavors come out as it warms. i just don't think you get the full experience with a really cold beer.i wouldn't worry about damaging the beer by sticking it in the fridge or anything. i think you can have a beer in the fridge for a while and take it out and re-store dry without affect. i think the <40 degree temp delays aging so it's possible that a beer will keep more fresh that way so this would be good for low ABV beers close to or past the Best By date.and it's either good or bad to stick an IPA in the fridge for a long time (it either helps preserve hoppiness or the hops fade faster) but I forget which is which.Hope that helps.

What's with the name of the new board?
nase linked to it in one of these threads.....
I know.. I am over there, but the name of the site sucks, that is all.Link for Furley
What part of "temporary name" is not making it through your thick skull, numdnards?
Temporary... wtf get your ### moving!
So, numbnards, what part of "legal issues" did you miss? Seriously, stop killing brains cells. You apparently don't have very many left.(Oh yeah, and happy b-day and all that jazz. You and your son. Yours is comign up right around now right? And the little guy on the 7th.)

having no class on friday is so weird.
Seriously.....no one fielded this one? Jesus, do I have to do everything?nase,Don't kid yourself, you don't have class any day of the week.Slackers. :(
First thing I thought too. I was out scouring the countryside for more Hopslam. And was fortunate enough to find another 6 pack. For $12.99 this time. Think I found myself a new beer store. Guy just bought it from the former owner. It used to be lacking on the beer side. Much improved already. He should have about 20 cases of Nugget Nectar next week. :pickle:I feel like I'm cheating on my beer pimp.

I wish there wasn't legal bs. I am glad that I ran it by my wife before going forward with it. We want to trademark, etc whatever name we come up with in case it turns into something more than a message board. There could be a problem doing this with the name that we came up with. I have both my wife and another lawyer looking into this for me.

The Beer Spot is not a registered trademark. :blackdot:
There are others that are close enough that they could have a case to get a cease and desist order possibly. That is what we are looking into currently.
