What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

North Coast Bourbon Barreled 2005 Old Stock Ale :help:
Awesome brew> 90/100 http://thebeerspot.com/rating.php?beer=13790
Old Stock is good to begin with. Bet it's really good aged in barrels. Speaking of barrel aged, CAH is doing another blowout at the end of the month and one that I remember is barrel aged Expedition. :homer:
So, a trade is on the horizon.....BTW, awesome avatar upgrade. Almost as good as mine.

Check this out (more from the "event" CAH is doing):

Dogfish Randall packed with coarse ground Vanilla Roast Coffee

We did it and it is beyond our expectations! This evening at 5pm we pushed Bells Expedition through two pounds of coarsely ground vanilla roasted coffee that was packed into a Dogfish Head Randall. The outcome? A super intense coffee/beer beverage that is so heavy it needs to be sipped like coffee. The 10.5% ABV of the beer really leaching every little bit of coffee flavor out of the beans. I'm not sure the caffeine content but as a coffee addict I feel like I've had about 3 shot of espresso for the one 10 once glass I just sipped. The next step was inevitable; we made one of the best stout floats that I have ever tasted. If you’re reading this come by tonight because this is the only day we will be pouring it until the Kerstbier Fest the 26tth-28th of this month. Stout fans you will be amazed!!-

(he said Expedition there but I think they did it with Java Stout)

You re-corked this same brew? I've done others easily, but this one was a PITA
Not that one in particular. What I did was take a cork from <insert beer> and shaved it down with sandpaper so that the bottom was smaller. Small enough to fit in any bottle, but still thick enough as you go toward the top to seal the bottle. Tapered I guess you would call it.

Any fans of barleywine out there? I really like barleywine and it is difficult to find. The last time I found some was at a package store near Meriden, CT. Young's Old Nick is probably my favorite barleywine. Anyone know any beers similar to Youngs that are easier to find?

I recently moved to FL and didn't find any stores with barleywine. The closest thing I found, which was pretty good, was Unibroue Trois Pistoles. I liked it, but would still like to find a good barleywine. Anyone tried the Unibroue? If not, I would recommend trying it.

where in FL are you?
Lakeland... about an hour from Tampa Bay, and about an hour from Orlando. I would travel to find good beer. I did see there is a Total Wine store in Tampa Bay. I know they have a pretty good selection.
I would guess you get sierra Nevada.... they have bigfoot, and it is tasty. I also know that FL get Dogfish Head, they make a barleywine as well (might be harder to find). I also remember seeing Great Divide in FL in the past. Try the Old ruffian... it is swell!

Tonight: Victory Twelve. Which I think is my second favorite beer so far -- edging out Chimay (red), but falling behind Foret (from Dupont).

I've got some Westmalle, Duvel, Chimay (blue) and Rochefort 6 in the fridge. I just finished off the Twelve, so I need to pick which one I'll pull out next.

I've had Duvel and Chimay, but I've never had Westmalle or Rochefort. The store I just bought them from, though, had them on the shelf at room temperature, which I thought was a no-no for bottle-conditioned beers. So I'm not sure they'll be as good as they're supposed to be. But I guess I'll find out soon . . .I think I'll pull out the Westmalle, and have it with some Comte (cheese).
