What picks did you immediately regret making? (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any picks they regretted making this year? For me, it was taking Nicks over Fitz. Since I had the first pick in a 14 team league, I wasn't expecting either to be available at the 2/3 turn, so was shocked to see them both there. My gut says I should have went Fitzgerald.

Anyone else have buyers remorse on anyone they picked?

I took Steve Smith as my third WR then followed up with AJ Green. Sort of wonder on Smitty w/ that rookie running back throwing to him.

Manning in rd 4 in August, obviously...

Other than that, I regret taking Jahvid Best round 3 in that same draft. I love his upside, but his brittleness makes me regret that pick.

SJax. Got him at 3.2 in a 12 teamer non ppr but really don't feel that comfortable. 3.8 ypc and 6 tds does not make you feel that great.

Took Winslow over Mike Thomas in the 8th round of a 12 teamer despite at that point Megatron being the only WR I had. Thomas went a few picks later. My trade attempts would be totally different had I picked Thomas, to the point where I wouldnt have even offered trades maybe.

picked Beenie in the 4th as my rb2 from the 9 spot

also took hightower in the 6th so I'm hoping for a decent rb2 between them

Immediately didn't like taking Michael Turner at #13 (2.01) but with a ton of RBs off the board (and I took Megatron at #12) and 22 picks to get back to me I took him. I feared then that he's slowing down. And I failed to get Snelling.

Not sure how it would've worked out otherwise, but having pick 9 in a 10-teamer I took MJD instead of Fitz hoping that he'd make it back to me after the turn. Normally I wait on QB, but once the 10 spot took Fitz and Brady I jumped on Rivers since the elite QB's were almost all gone. Think I got too fixated on taking the best RB available since I had kept two WR and one RB. Probably should've gone with the safer pick (Fitz) and loaded up on RB's with my next 2-3 picks while waiting on a QB like I normally do.

Jahvid Best was sitting there in the 5th round, so I scooped him up...and immediately regretted him. I never wanted him on my team, but the value seemed high so I went for it. Hope he doesnt burn me again this year.

Took Lloyd as my WR2 in a 12 team PPR @ 3.02. They had just confirmed Orton was going to be the starter. I now have him in 2 leagues which I've drafted but last night he fell to me in the 5th round.

I'm not going to say I regret this pick now but there is a good probability I will. Ochocinco in the 3rd round of my 3 keeper re-draft league.

Was a little buzzed at my draft on saturday. Had a pats fan talk me into BJGE in the 7th. I'm not totally disappointed in the pick, just in myself for being suckered so easily.

I didn't take him in any league, but I bet I can name one from a lot of rookie drafts and not because he's banged up either. That would be Jon Baldwin.

One for me would be Ryan Williams and trading for Collie earlier this year. I'm hoping the Collie trade still turns out ok for me.

I took Chad Ochocinco when players like Wes Welker, Brandon Marshall, Anquan Boldin and Santonio Holmes were still on the board. Immediately regretted it.

This was before the reports of his poor training camp performance were released, but it was still probably a bad move, and has given me an upset stomach. I don't know what I was thinking.

Being a Lions fan, I really wanted Megatron, hoping he would fall to my early second round pick. Took AJ in the first, bur Megatron went next pick. Really think Megatron will have a bigger year and got burnt by

In my main league, an auction $ league, I regret doing so poorly on the bottom of the draft after doing some decent prep. Ended up with Gronkowski, Big Mike Williams, Meachem and James Jones. Many of the players I had targeted (Hernandez, Burleson, Evans, Manningham, Ford, etc.) got snatched and then I did not have the wherewithal to dig deeper and go after guys like Tate, Andre Roberts, Gibson, Kendricks, Ant. Brown, Den. Moore, etc. Gronk, BMW & Meach may pay off but my guess is I will be hitting the WW early and often (yet again) in week 1 but competing with other owners for these same players.

Last night, I kind of regret taking DeAngelo Williams in the 4th round, when I still could have taken J Finley, who went the next pick. Michael Turner went right before that pick, so I was between a rock and hard place. Timer ticking down and I clicked on Williams. Never thought I'd own a Panther.

I also regret Labor day drafts. Never again. There is so much value to be had in earlier drafts. By this time of the preseason, there are no more sleepers.

Go Carolina!

Taking Collie as my #2 WR in one league. Luckily I am stacked at RB there so I am going to have to trade for a decent WR.

In my league Sunday night, taking Flacco in Round 5, superflex league. Don't really like him much, but there was a huge QB run in Round 5, and when it was my turn at 5.09 (10 teamer), Flacco was the last QB standing in the middle tier. After that things got dicey. I think I should have taken the best RB at the time and took two cheap QBs later and played matchups at the QB2 flex spot.

Ahmad Brashaw at 2.11 in a 14 teamer. 17th RB off the board. Didn't like it then. Like it less now.

took t.romo in my super flex league (aka can start 2 qb's) over v.jackson.

not sure i like that pick now as i still have the vision of tony laying on the turf last year in the fetal position.

Must have been some WR1 available if 17/25 picks were RB
There were but the scoring in this league is somewhat unique. PPR but other things that make it VERY QB and RB friendly. I took Vick in the first and felt I had to get a RB in the 2nd. With the advantage of hindsight I would have taken CJ, Mendenhall, or Charles in the 1st and could have taken Romo later. But I won't say I regret the Vick pick b/c I think he is gold in our scoring system and based on how the previous year's draft went I wasnt confident one of the QBs I wanted would fall to me. Of course it played out differently but hindsight is 20/20.I'm comfortable with the risk/reward of Vick but if I could do it again I would have gambled on another RB instead of Bradshaw in the 2nd. I'm increasingly concerned that Jacobs is the back to own for NYG this year. But what's done is done. We'll see what happens.

taking Manning in the 7th (ten teamer) as my second QB thinking i could have some dynamic trade bait with holes on roster at RB and WR. News breaks 5 days later

McFadden 2.05 in a PPR 16 teamer

Best at 3.12 in the same league

Timmons at 4.05 in the same league

Britt at 5.12 in the same league

Umenyiora at 6.05 in the same league

No bench league, IDP scores about equal to offensive players.

Fun league, just missed value by a pick at two at every step.

Luckily I got Nicks at 1.12 :homer:

I took Ochocinco as my WR2 in 3 leagues and absolutely hate it in all 3. The first one was an early league and I took him at 4.02 before the news of his struggles. The second was a week later and he was the best option left at 5.08. I just took him at 7.12 last night as my WR2 in a 2 WR league after going RB heavy and QB/TE fairly early. I hated him in all 3, but at the time I felt he was the best option available.

Took Beck with Grossman still on board.

Before I could take at the turn Grossman got taken 2 picks in front of me.

Left with Eli Manning as my only starting QB

(disclaimer: 16 team league)

As a fellow Ocho owner who regrets picking him, I'll buy you a beer.

Taking any RB's in the late 3rd/early 4th of my redrafts. The WR's there were better values as there was a ton of RB depth to gamble on in the later rounds, but I find that the WR's available after the top 20 or so are gone are total crapshoots.

I think a lot of people in this thread are missing the word "Immediately". Of course you regret taking Manning after his latest injury news. Who did you regret taking later that night or even later that round?

For me it was Miles Austin at 3.03. Decent value at that point but as my WR1, I'm torn on whether he'll rebound with Romo back or whether Dez will take over as the #1 target in that offense.

For some reason I grabbed Moreno in the sixth when guys like Benson were available. Likely should have just gone with Benson or Addai who have at least proved that they are starting caliber backs.

Jamaal Charles... I took him at 1.7 in 6pt. pass TD league where Rogers and Vick went early. I could be wrong, but my gut tells me KC will be a train wreck this year.

Took MJD over Charles last night with the seventh pick in a PPR league (Peterson, Foster, CJ, Rice, McCoy all off the board at RB). I don't really have buyer's remorse but I'm not real comfortable with MJD. But I figured if he's healthy at all there's no denying his potential. Now I have to pray he's healthy.

Arian Foster at 1.5 last night. I actually prefaced the pick with: "I really don't want to make this pick, but..." I just don't feel good about him this year in general and using your first pick on a guy that is already hurt is generally not a recipe for success. There is obviously great potential value with that pick though so I rolled the dice and picked up Tate later. Still, every time I scan my final roster I cringe thinking of all the weeks i'm going to be watching the last minute injury reports because he is a GTD.

R. Bush in the 6th. This is my RB1 and I was swinging for the fences. Took some startable RBs later but there were others in the 6th that I immediately regretted not taking.

If it makes you feel better, I took moreno in the 4th and don't regret it, yet. Followed Berry's advice this year, he loves moreno.
