What picks did you immediately regret making? (1 Viewer)

Took AJ Green in the second and all I've read about is how bad Dalton will be this year due to the offensive line woes, plus defenses double teaming Green. Not feeling good about the situation.
I don't buy it. Weren't they doubling him a good part of last season, as Jerome Simpson and Caldwell weren't exactly guys you had to worry about. Green was basically their only weapon, and Dalton was throwing to Green last year, too.Dalton and Green are one year more experienced -- together. Addition of Law Firm may give the team the ability to to force Ds to respect the run a little more.Sophomore slump be damned, I'm buying.

MJD in the 2nd. WTF was I thinking?! Guess I got nostalgia... this was gonna be my first year since he was a rook that he wasn't on any teams of mine... well, now he is. Passed on such valuable commodities as Mendenhall (thought, hey it's PPR and he doesn't catch much... although it's only .5 for RBs), McFadden (thought, oh, he's an injury risk and I already have him in another league), Nicks, Vjax... any of those guys over MJD.

Then in the same draft I took Britt as my 4th WR in the 6th (MJD still my only back) when I really wanted Hightower, but forgot. Luckily he made it all the way back through 14 picks. I only have to start one RB so hopefully those 2 can carry me.
these are good to read...

Nominated Royster for $1 before Morris got the week 3 start. Didn't want him, but got stuck when no one else bid.

Taking Ridley in the 6th and Ingram in the 8th for my RB3 and 4. There just wasn't any value as it's a 2 keeper league and people were binging on RBs ahead of me each time and forced my hand. I hated both picks even as I was making them.

Surprisingly, my trepidation at taking Vick at 7.2 has dissolved completely and i'm now very happy with that pick and Dalton in the 12th to back him up.

Accidentally let the clock run out in the 5th and was debating between Bryant and Bowe and my ranking had Lloyd at the top, so it drafted Lloyd. Really regret that as either choice would have been better. Trading Llyod after his first good game.
I had an accidental pick up of Lloyd too. I meant to take Antonio Brown but for some reason I had Lloyd as the pick and stupidly clicked draft. 14 team ppr at 4.03.

cringeworthy... I was kicking myself for several weeks for not taking Dmac there too.

that's not as embarrassing as the 2nd paragraph though.

I was really considering deleting the whole post though if noone quoted it. Thanks for making that an impossibility.

No.

Immediately: Marshawn Lynch in the 5th. I have no confidence in Tarvaris Jackson moving a small coffee table, much less an entire NFL offense. Lynch might get 900 yards, but would only a handful of scores surprise anyone? Later: Realized after the draft that I have a lot of Lions (Megatron, Stafford, Pettigrew). Happy with where I got them all, but not sure I really needed an all-Lions fantasy team.
this guy probably did pretty well

Jesus christ I just saw the timestamps. Ignore my post. Why are we bumping this crap.IGNORE ->>>>>>>

FYI this is the "what picks do you REGRET making"
Picking Ray Rice at 1.03 instead of CJ3.
Who is CJ3? Chris Johnson? Really?

In my draft the other night, I had Mega and Gronk in the first 2 rounds, really wanted to take SJax with that 3rd pick, but was talked into picking Marshall (who I have tied as WR3 with Fitz this year). Im really high on Marshall, but at that point I think I needed to take a RB, and SJax is about as safe as they come this year, surprisingly.

Taking Gronk at 2.2 in an earlier draft I did this year over Forte. Who I really wanted was Graham but he was taken the pick before me and I got kinda frustrated. I think Gronk will still have a great year, but think he and Hernandez my have similar stats (more td's for gronk, possibly more catches for Hernandez).

I reached for Ridley in the fith. Then in the 7th there was myself and one other team with out a QB, Cutler and Peyton were still on the board so I figured one of them would fall to me in the 8th since back up qb's generally don't star hitting till the 9th round.

So since I had just reached for Riddley and realized how big of risk he was I grabbed Hillis instead of Cutler/Peyton. Cutler gets taken with the next pick, Manning went on the turn and Schaub went before it got back to me.

Now I'm stuck with a Flacco/Ponder/Russel Wilson QBBC...... :wall:

Anything can happen at least I did win this league with Fitzpatrick/Tebow @ QB last year.

In my league TE is grouped with WR and we have to start 3 WR/TE. Took Graham as my first WR (not a bad pick), took Gates as my second (again, not a horrible pick), waited around too long and wound up with Hernandez as my #3 (not a bad pick)...but I realized I had 3 TEs as my starting WR corps. By the time I started hunting for backups I wound up with Cobb, Laurent Robinson and Walter. So my regret is not getting a better true WR and basically running a TE only offense.

McFadden 2.05 in a PPR 16 teamerBest at 3.12 in the same leagueTimmons at 4.05 in the same leagueBritt at 5.12 in the same leagueUmenyiora at 6.05 in the same leagueNo bench league, IDP scores about equal to offensive players.Fun league, just missed value by a pick at two at every step.Luckily I got Nicks at 1.12 :homer:
Well, at least I was right across the board :PWorst preparation for a draft ever...

BUMP FOR 2012 REGRETS

If you've drafted in the past week or two, tell us what you would do differently if you had a do-over.
LOL! Give me a minute. I can't stop laughing at all these "remorses" from last year. ROTFL."I regret taking Brady over felix....Oh no! I have Stafford and Megatron..not feeling good about it.." Some of these are classic.
Several people took Gronk over Hernandez and regretted missing the guy with more upside. Everybody who took Foster thought they were screwed. Worth reading the first page and a halfm

Last night in my dynasty auction I got caught trying to bid up MJD and I ended up owning him. The dude might not even play this year.

Same thing happened with john Baldwin who I have no interet in but somehow get him for $5. I know that people might think that is a good thing for dynasty but I believe a lot would have to happen for Baldwin to reach his potential (I.e. bowe getting traded, Baldwin getting traded or kc getting a franchise qb).

Same thing happened with martellus bennet. 3 guys I had zero interest in now on my roster taking up the spots I could have used on guys like collie, Alfred Morris, and other sleepers. Waaaaaahhhhhh!!!! Lol

All my leagues are keeper auctions now, so not a ton of room for regrets (at least that I know of yet).

Screwed up and bid $4 on Cutler (ended up with Roethlisberger and Wilson too). I'd rather have the roster spot.

$9 on Deangelo Williams. I think he's worth a flyer and the price wasn't terrible, but it dropped my Drew Brees budget to $52. Not getting Brees was my big regret.

No people need to read these to realize how little we actually know right now.

:bag: Even worse: Dropped Beast Mode in Week 1 after he played San Francisco but kept Ingram! Someone else in my division benefited from Lynch's 13 TDs.Is there an emoticon for a double-bagged head?

Picking up Lynch very early in round 2 of my 12 man draft as my RB1. Picked him up ahead of Jamaal Charles, SJax, Mathews, Fred Jackson, and AP because I thought he was safer. Also, Dez Bryant and Romo in 5 and 6. I really hate the cowboys but somehow ended up with them. Hope they don't cost me my 3rd superbowl by failing in week 16 again.

Regretting Mendenhall in the 11th for depth, when I already had Mathews as my RB2 who is going to miss a few games. McGahee (RB3) better play well to start the season or I'll be playing catch up from the word go.

I don't know if I'd say immediately regretted, but I wished I could have a re-do of my DHB pick in round 8 with Kenny Britt still on the board. The upside of Britt makes for a better WR4 - granted at the time I didn't know the suspension would only be 1 game but still

12 Team PPR TE heavy:

Drafted Pettigrew in the 5th when I didn't have a WR2 and could have snagged Tony G, Turner, Maclin, Stevie Johnson, or Antonio Brown, all who I like much better.

Passed on Quizz Rodgers for M. Bush in the 9th.

Sounds like a bitter owner who had prices enforced against him :-D

We track our draft results and trades on a website:

In 2009 on 11/21...

I traded Marshawn Lynch and Kenny Britt for ....NYG Steven Smith. WHoops.

Some of these trades/ Draft picks look terrible now but will eventually pan out if you're patient enough.

Some of them start out promising...then drop waaaaay off.

on a web page and can look back at the players that were drafted and dropped in our dynasty league rookie draft.

2010: I listed a bunch of "regrets" or didn't quite pan outs yet. Out of these I regret Both Hardesty and McCluster but made up for it with Hernandez, Decker/ Bradford (I traded Gerhardt). THe other picks weren't mine. Only DTHomas is worthy right now and Ben Tate a solid RB2. Ford had a great rookie year.

2.09 Eric Decker

5.06. Jacoby Ford.

I had carefully saved enough $$ toward the end of my auction to grab David Wilson (I bought Bradshaw earlier as my RB2). When the MJD owner nominated Jennings for $5 (his max bid) I got too cute and bid $6, winning Jennings - thinking I could still sneak off with Wilson since I still had $1 more than most of the other owners. WRONG! Got outbid by $1 on Wilson. Feeling WAY out on a limb now with Bradshaw and no Wilson. I'm an idiot... :wall:

had a 12 team redraft on Thursday and really loved my first 7 picks, and then i get to my 8.11 and 9.02 and i had no idea what to do, so I took DWill (with Stewart still on the board) and Ingram on the flip side... I could of paired up CAR RBs or at least taken Stewart over DWill. Just whiffed. And of course, did not have a plan for 10.11 and 11.02, either.

those middle rounds need to have targets, i just didn't have any. Live and don't learn... got two more redrafts to go

took blackmon over wilson in the 8th and i own bradshaw. was hoping wilson would make it back to me but alas went one pick before me in the 9th. had to take stewart instead
