What song are you listening to right now? (1 Viewer)

good looking out @Juxtatarot
Live version (I like the sax and trumpet at the end):

They are playing with Geese in Detroit in October. I might have to see them. Also I have to learn who Geese is. I know Goose but not Geese lol.

Geese are excellent too. New album coming soon. This is from their last one:

Thanks I am going to see if I can get my kid in...she might enjoy it

The originals on this album are absolute gems. As I get older, I realize the role both tradition and social appropriateness play, but I am also struck by how limiting it can be. Imagine having label trouble and feeling like you need to cover songs for an audience when you’re writing originals like this. Criminy.

Fun Facts:

The album was produced by Dave Edmunds. The title Shake Some Action originates from a line in the 1965 film None but the Brave

I think Billy is THAT guy right now. His range of music is as crazy as his talent. It's amazing he isn't more popular than he is. Perhaps it's wishful thinking for those of us who wish he made it through our towns.

I saw him in St. Augustine. Probably in my top 5 shows I've ever seen.

I guess I need to give him a shot. I hear a lot of people talking about him- I just know he's done some stuff with Post Malone and Luke Combs and that's not exactly getting me too excited but I see he collabed with Willie Nelson too, that's better.

Pick a style you like and try to find it. He's a bluegrass guy at his core, but his guitar picking is amongst the best. As far as collaborations, this is one of my favorites with another one of my favorite young guys (Marcus King). If you are a classic country guy, this is "it" (I was/am a Haggard fan). But, he covers Sabbath, Zep, Floyd, and newer non-bluegrass/country artist. His original music is crazy good. If you have time, I am posting one of my favorite live sets. Him at Lollapalooza is funny and a trip at the same time. I'll stop the hijack, because that's not what we're here for (just one artist), but he's definitely worth exploring more.

Cool I will check him out. I see he's from Michigan which explains why I've heard so much about him for several years now. Also makes me like him more ;)

Man i love Billy Strings. If you're a fan of live music and amazing guitar it doesn't get much better.

Ummm. That was SICK.

Violin solo is incredible in this one. I think we all probably have dealt with a scornful woman at least a few times in our lives. Oliver Anthony's 2nd viral hit.

He's played with just about everyone. That doesn't really define his music.
If you really want to know what he's about, watch some of this video. For instance, the song that starts around 9:30, and how it develops into the jam around the 15:00 mark, jam peaks around 17:20, then back into the chorus of the song.

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Molina (1970)

With a five-and-a-half second false ending 😯 (which perhaps explains why the song was not released as a single).
