What song are you listening to right now? (2 Viewers)

One of my favorites. In general I love the song Momma Sed by Puscifer. The original is a great short song. If you haven’t seen Puscifer live, they are known for performing different variations of Momma Sed. This particular variation just gives me goosebumps every time. Their sound engineers are phenomenal.

This song seems to come on the Spotify station that they play at my work once every couple of days. After a a few listens, the song kinda stuck in my head. It’s by a Canadian gal named Tate McRae. Her voice reminds me of a mix of the gal from Churches and Sia. I haven’t heard any of her other stuff, but I might have to do that the next time I have a sleepless night.

You Broke Me First by Tate McRae

I'm enjoying the new Stones song, Angry, probably more than I should.

Just a good, no frills, solid rock and roll tune from a bunch of guys who are my Dad's age.

The B-52's - Dark Back Road (1980 German TV)

Cindy and Kate's voices are so perfectly matched that it' like a single double tracked vocal.

Good example of Ricky Wilson's rather unusual guitar tunings.

Fitz and The Tantrums - Don't Gotta Work It Out (Live Amsterdam 2011)

Like this unplugged version (with just a tambourine and a sax) better than the original.

And recorded on a boat in an Amsterdam canal.

Another Sunny Day - You Should All Be Murdered (1989)

🎶One day, when the world is set to right
I'm going to murder all the people I don't like🎶

The best Smiths' song that The Smiths never did.

Not quite sure is this was meant as a homage or as a parody.

Speaking of The Who, I'm listening to "The Combine" by The Jam, who wore The Who's influence on their sleeve during their earlier recordings. Hat tip to @otb_lifer and @Pip's Invitation for this. I'm listening to the song because of otb_lifer's stumping for them with me and Pip's MAD 31 countdown of said band.

Pilot - January (Live Wimbledon Theatre 1976)

Follow up to their #5 US hit single Magic.

#1 in UK, #87 US.

David Patton's Scottish accent is more noticeable here.

Panic Attack .. New Priest in all their glory :headbang:

I can't get Tool - Pneuma out of my head.

Hindi Zahra - Kiss & Thrills (2010)

Moroccan artist. Slightly jangly pop with haunting vocals and psychedelic overtones.

  • 1984 was a magical summer. I was an E4 in the Navy, ship was in dry dock in East Boston, and in a amazing couple of weeks,
  • I went to see Purple Rain in theater,
  • sat in Fenway to witness about 13 HRs in 4 games as the Tigers play the BoSox played B2B doubleheaders on a Monday & Tuesday (to makeup April rainouts),
  • an outdoor Cyndi Lauder on the She’s So Unusual Touron Boston Common,
  • went to see John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown in the legendary club The Channel,
  • and finished off the summer by taking a train to New York City to catch Prince at The Ritz.

I was 22 years old and had no idea my life had just peaked.
