When a poor person breaks in to my home looking to rape my wife and daughter .

In that situation I need a gun to blow their head off. Preferably a big gun.

Home defense I understand, but you can shoot someone breaking into your house w/o a conceal carry permit.

Going to the grocery store on a weekend? The gym? Picking up dry-cleaning?

Someone who has kids who wouldn't have had kids if he didn't objectively think he could do a good job of raising them?

And I don't know the extent of your psychological history, but man it's tough work and I (we) are scared to death that we're going to screw them up somehow, as two people who don't have any significant issues with mental health.

I would not classify someone with the gall to say what you did ( especially when it’s wntirely off topic) as “ having no significant issues with mental health”.

Its people with your mentality that wind up screwing their children up more than most people that have had mental health difficulties, the majority of which people suffer from is normal depression and anxiety. You were so quick to comment with no further information that I think it’s quite clear you possess and underlying pathology that is beyond what most of society suffers from.

The content, manner and convictions of your statements is something I could imagine my own father saying. In fact I’ve heard him make similar statements and he’s the biggest psychopath I know.

I grew up with a guy who tried to commit suicide twice after battling severe depression (undiagnosed) all his life.  He accidently got a girl pregnant, married her, and now has four kids.  He tells me all the time that the one true happiness he was missing his entire life was having children.  He's a completely changed person from everything I can tell.  You just never know.
