What to expect from Ahmad Bradshaw going forward? (1 Viewer)

What was up with Bradshaw going to war with coaches/coughlin after the TD?
Was wondering the same thing....anyone know what was going on? I read somewhere else that Bradshaw was upset at the way carries were being distributed amongst the RB's.
I'm a Giants fan and I really like Bradshaw, but he should be grateful he's not losing more carries to Brown and Wilson. I like when a player is as tough as him and plays with a lot of heart, but attacking your coaches for taking you out for a few plays is going a little too far.
i would kinda like this attitude in my players....

Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) did not practice Thursday.

Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
 She's the main beat writer for the Star Ledger. Took over Mike Garafolo's spot when he moved onto USA Today where he covers the NFC. Knock Rotoworld for their take but the beat writer said Bradshaw isn't practicing, and she's right he didn't.
Don't think the source is being knocked; but rather the fact that we went through this "uh oh AB not practicing" shtick last week, and AB was fine come Sunday
Exactly, this is looking like a weekly routine now. Bradshaw is running mad this season. Dude looks possessed and the way he hops up and gets pumped after long runs.... dudes a beast.Good, hard runner on a good team with a very good offense = GOOD FANTASY PRODUCTION.Bradshaw has missed 1.5 games and is still in the top 10 scoring for RBs in PPR leagues..... think about it.

He didn't attack anyone. I've got no issue with this and Caughlin even said he likes that out of him. In regards to being gratefull he's not losing carries I have to ask.... are you a Brown, Wilson owner?

I used to own Wilson but not anymore. I'm just a Giants fan that would actually like a RBBC because they have the talent for it and I don't want them to wear any of them out.

Yeah, Caughlin is very easy on his injured players. All a player has to do is practice once.

Rotoworld:

Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) was limited in Friday's practice, and is officially questionable for Week 8.

Bradshaw got in extremely few — possibly zero — practice reps this week, but has done so multiple times before suiting up in the past. It's obviously unideal from a fantasy standpoint, but there's simply no reason to believe he won't start and believe for a near-typical workload against the Cowboys. New York will surely do its best to mix in Andre Brown and perhaps rookie David Wilson, but Bradshaw remains a locked-in RB2. He's Rotoworld's No. 13 runner for Week 8.

Ahmad Bradshaw (questionable, foot) elaborated on the details of his injury after practicing on a "limited" basis Friday.

"It’s a bone bruise, it may take a while (to heal)," Bradshaw said. "You keep pounding, and it just keeps coming back." While Bradshaw seems likely to play against the Cowboys in Week 8, his missing burst against the Redskins was evident on tape and he's at risk of aggravation. If Bradshaw scores a touchdown for the fourth straight game, fantasy owners need to sell him high. Source: Jenny Vrentas on Twitter Oct 26 - 2:10 PM

Looks to be another no-go for Bradshaw. He was off bike, but didn't jog in warm-ups + sat out offensive walk-through while media there. #nyg

@ebenezersamuel

Bradshaw in pads and w/ helmet but did not see him take a rep during portion of practice open to media.

Ugh. As so done who benched Doug mari. For Bradshaw, if he sits I am done for.

I even 2x checked before thu kickoff. This was the news

I'm a Giants fan and I was low on Bradshaw coming into this season, probably would only have drafted him as a #3 RB at best. In recent years his YPC declined while his missed games due to injury increased. I was high on Wilson like everyone else.

I don't recognize #44, he's running like his ### is on fire, like the other team kidnapped his daughter. He seems pissed. As a fan, obviously I love it. It's like having his job challenged lit a fire under him.

All that said, I get the sense his foot is held together with gum and tape, and it won't be long before he misses more games. I'm holding Brown and it wouldn't surprise me if Wilson is relevant over the last few games of the season too (as Brown has his own injury history).

I get the same feeling. I've always been a big Bradshaw fan but his injury/surgery history coupled with his workload this season has me holding my breath every weekend. I don't have Brown or Wilson and I feel an urgency to make plans. May try to package Ahamd with a WR2 after his next good game for a safer RB. Problem is that you'll never get full value back in return due to his sketchy health and rep for getting nicked up. 'Tis a quandary.....

Another Bradshaw TD vultured by Brown :wall:
Just can't figure this out. It's maddening as hell. You can't tell me he can't run it in.
Owning Bradshaw is maddening with this happening every week. I have JCharles and DMurray as my other two RBs. With a small bench (3 spots), I need to drop one of these to get some help this week. Who's worth keeping? Charles has great potential when the coaches remember he's on the team. DMurray is due back in the next couple of weeks, and Bradshaw is pulled in the Red Zone consistently for ABrown. Feels like I can't catch a break this year with these guys.Is Bradshaw worth keeping or will we continue seeing this on a weekly basis? If he only nets less than 8 pts in a non-PPR lg, he probably isn't worth keeping around, IMO.

Bradshaws main injury problems are his feet/ankles and goalline carries are very hard on your feet. i'd be willing to bet he doesn't get another carry inside the 5 again this year.
That would really suck. I need this guy to produce. I think it all depends on his health and you can't really say there is a hard and fast rule that Brown is the goal line back.

I remember one drive last Sunday near the Steeler's goal line where they ran Bradshaw 3 times but he couldn't score. The Steelers made a penalty on Bradshaw's failed 3rd down carry to extend the Giants drive. Then, the Giants gave the ball to Brown and Brown scored on his first carry. Looking at that drive and other drives lately, I don't know what to expect. I own both players and its frustrating.

I still believe its Bradshaw's backfield to lose...he will be spelled by Brown where needed. If he is healthy enough to play they will feed him the rock until he can't produce.

Benching him for Bush vs. Tenn. Both RBs are maddening since the minute they get nicked up, the coaches start trotting bigger backs off the bench for goal line duty. The minute you bench them, they will go for 200 combined yards. :wall:

Oh, you mean the drive where Bradshaw got them down to the 2 from the 20 all by himself? Come on man, let's tell the real story here and not make it sound like he "couldn't" punch it in. Besides, it's a lot easier to get in from the 1 than it is the 20. And even that 1 yard TD had to be looked at upstairs:
1-10-PIT20 (10:41) A.Bradshaw right tackle to PIT 16 for 4 yards (L.Foote, K.Lewis).2-6-PIT16 (10:05) (Shotgun) A.Bradshaw right guard to PIT 12 for 4 yards (L.Foote, B.Keisel).3-2-PIT12 (9:20) (Shotgun) A.Bradshaw right tackle to PIT 8 for 4 yards (K.Lewis, R.Clark).1-8-PIT8 (8:42) (Shotgun) A.Bradshaw left tackle to PIT 5 for 3 yards (R.Clark, B.Keisel).2-5-PIT5 (8:02) A.Bradshaw right tackle to PIT 2 for 3 yards (L.Timmons).3-2-PIT2 (7:15) E.Manning pass incomplete short middle to V.Cruz (I.Taylor). PENALTY on PIT-R.Clark, Personal Foul, 1 yard, enforced at PIT 2 - No Play. #80 - V.Cruz injured on the play.1-1-PIT1 (7:06) A.Brown right guard for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN. The Replay Assistant challenged the runner broke the plane ruling, and the play was Upheld.
And then this later on in the game:
1-4-PIT4 (3:09) A.Brown right tackle to PIT 2 for 2 yards (L.Woodley, W.Allen).2-2-PIT2 (2:26) A.Brown left end to PIT 5 for -3 yards (R.Clark, I.Taylor).3-5-PIT5 (1:43) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass incomplete short left to R.Randle.
Again, let's be fair when analyzing things here.

Brown has been poaching the goal line TDs lately, but I'd expect Coughlin to give Bradshaw his share. Coughlin knows that if Bradshaw doesn't get his fair share he'll be barking on the sidelines.

Coach Tom cares about that stuff?
He does. Right after BC, Coughlin was like a boot camp drill sergeant to some NFL players. He's eons different now, but there's things that clearly still irk him. One of his linemen married his daughter and there's a story about them not talking for weeks because he said some stuff. Several backs, including Ward, said things and are no longer with the Gmen. It's not like a you said this pack your bags. I think contract time or cut time and then Coughlin remembers.

I'll never forget a buddy of mine telling me how they were cleaning out their lockers after the season and this player got grumpy and had to go tell Coughlin and Gilbride how they messed up not doing this, not doing that. A few months later, that player was so gone.

I think Ahmad is gone after 2012 if they can find a replacement and I don't think it's Andre. He's said too much. People here barely spoke of it, but he told Bennett to go in the game when he was hurt and the trainer had him sit out. He begged him, convinced him to go in for one more drive. The NFLPA probably even got on him for that, Coughlin was furious, Bennett (not Bradshaw right away) got in trouble and....he's gone overboard this year. It's like he saw Jacobs shoot his mouth off and instead of learning what a fool Jacobs was, he decided to do it too.

Alot of NFL coaches still believe the old mindset that they are going into battle and this is their platoon of soldiers. Society and such doesn't let it always come out and be super obvious, but ya gotta see it from time to time watching football and reading about the teams and all. It's still there. Ahmad's crossed lines this year.

Give it some time after the season, if they can replace him, I bet he's on another team in 2013.

He should be benched in fantasy leagues for Andre Brown or a better option.
What happened towards the end of the game? Andre Brown had no production early, then I check later, and he ends up with a big day--did Bradshaw get sidelined because of injury?

Rotoworld:

Ahmad Bradshaw underwent X-rays following the Giants' Week 10 loss to the Bengals.

Bradshaw declined to divulge what was getting X-rayed, but did confirm it wasn't his troublesome foot. Bradshaw never returned after taking a brutal helmet-to-helmet late in the third quarter, but didn't immediately depart to the locker room. It's possible the Giants were just exercising caution in a game that got out of hand early. It is worth noting, however, that Bradshaw has a history of neck issues. Whatever ails him, he has the Giants' Week 11 bye to heal up. Nov 11 - 4:50 PM

Has anyone heard more about Bradshaw's "tests" last week? I believe he was to have his neck x-rayed. I did read he was at practice on Monday but not sure if he participated in drills or just showed up. Haven't heard more since. Does anyone know if he slated to start this weekend vs GB?

Just the "notes" section on Yahoo said the x-rays were "clear".Figuring he will practice sparingly this week and play on Sunday night...just enough to get some yards then piss all of us off when Brown gets the TD.
