What was your biggest regret/mistake from your drafts? (1 Viewer)

I play in a 6pt passing td non ppr league. 12 teamer and I had the 11th pick. I should have went graham followed by a wr or rb--but instead went graham and then brees. I didn't expect brees to be available there as the top tier qb's almost always go in the top ten pick with 6pt passing tds--and I couldn't resist. Now, I feel like my team is weak at the rb and wr positions. uggh.
Yea, but on the weeks Graham has 2 TDs (which happened 5 times last year) you're going to blow everyone out and almost guarantee a win. I prefer high variance, high scoring strategies like that. Remember, it's a head-to-head matchup game. You just have to win half your games to get in the playoffs.

I tried very hard to get a QB/WR combo this year but the best I could do while staying in value to the pick was Cutler/Jeffrey in one league and Matt Ryan/Roddy in another.

I didn't take him early or anything but... Tavon Austin. There were any number of other choices I would likely feel better about.

I certainly hope you are right. I like the combos that you ended up landing because I feel like the draft positions of your guys still allow you not to be weak in other areas. For example--my league is non ppr--and my rb pool is zac stacy, shane vereen, fjax, sjax, jeremy hill and benny cunningham--which is fairly pathetic. My wr pool is victor cruz, jeremy maclin, dwayne bowe, andrew hawkins, kenny britt--once again--fairly anemic. My backup te--and most likely flex play is kyle rudolph..which isn't bad. Overall, looking at the other rosters in my league--I can honestly say that I think my team is probably middle of the pack but you never know. Thank you for your bid of confidence though. I appreciate it.

Getting caught price checking rg3, got him at a decent price and may actually pay off long term but it cost me Carlos Hyde.

In my auction keeper i kind of feel like i should've gotten myself another stud.

I wanted marshall, but dropped out of the bidding at 20% of our budget before keepers and settled for nelson.

Also, i finished with money and feel like i could've gotten colston and sjax

Selected crabtree over andre basically cuz im a 49er fan. Selected sjax over pt cruiser and mjd as my third string rb
I'd take Crabtree over Andre, and I hate the Niners.

I'm not even all that down on Andre. :oldunsure:
Off topic, but as a Niners fan I tend to overreact to not falling into the homerism trap. It is extremely rare for me to own any Niners, sometimes missing value. To answer the OP... I screwed up by not using the queue in a league. Players I liked were available but way down the list, so I missed them assuming they were already drafted, just to see another team grab them over the next few rounds.

Our league favors qbs and wrs - I had pick 4. In the first three picks it went Charles, Manning and Rodgers. I talked myself into taking Brees to not miss out on a QB. Okay, not terrible....but swung back around to 2.9 and I took a rb. That followed by two more rbs.

Going into the draft I KNEW I needed good WRs to compete. Now I am loaded at QB and RB, but my WR corps is Jeffery, Harvin and....Hilton. Screwed myself by not following my plan and in this league, without 2 stud WRs I will be an also ran.
wtf is wrong with those wrs? My wrs are vjax, crabtree, and benjamin. Id rather have jeffrey than all of them.
All high risk with Jeffrey being the least risk - but relying on Cutler. Once I get past those three I have Amendola and Shorts and dreck on the waiver wire. So the wrs themselves are "okay", but no depth and one of them gets hurt and I am hosed. Especially in a league that seems allergic to trading. I have tons of RB depth to trade and no one likes to trade.

Don't know your RBs but your WRs seem a-ok.
ppr league - Bernard, Vereen with Sproles and Fred Jackson as backups. Which makes it worse I overpaid for Gio and Vereen and neglected my wrs while doing so.

Wanted to wait on QB, I ended up with Russell Wilson in the 10th round (was hoping for Cutler, but he went 7th, earlier than I wanted). Was going to go Wilson then Rivers in the 11th but I thought I would wait a bit. Backup QBs started flying off the board and I was stuck taking Eli as my backup.

Wilson has a good chance to outscore Cutler. You're fine

I'm not sure what there is to regret here. I don't know what kind of black magic you did or who the heck people were drafting that Alshon Jeffery was available in the 5th round of a 12 team ppr (or Harvin in the 6th for that matter), but if anything going RB early worked out perfectly for you. And Hilton is a solid WR3.I dunno, maybe given the makeup of a league where Jeffery is going in round 5 (seriously, were people drafting their backup qb in the 3rd round or something) you're used to having each of the 12 best players in the league, but your team is loaded.

I drafted Alshon Jeffery over Jordy Nelson.

I have to admit, Jordy being White had something to do with it. Jeffery is younger and Blacker. I just felt more comfortable with that.

I had Chris Johnson and Ray Rice sniped in back to back picks right in front of me in the 8th round of my superflex 10 team draft. I needed a RB3, and my next two guys on my list were Trent Richardson and Ben Tate. I took Richardson and I hate it, since I should have taken Tate. At the time I thought Tate would share time and he's injury prone. I definitely think that Richardson isn't that good, but why not gamble on him as my RB3, since he should get some volume.

Luckily I got Fred Jackson a couple of rounds later to hedge that bet. As long as AP and Reggie Bush stay healthy..........

Regretting passing on Alfred Morris in the third. Took Brown instead to double up at WR (Julio in round 2) but starting to think I missed out on having a top notch RB2.

Drafted Lamar Miller in the 6th of a PPR league...in hindsight should've never even thought about drafting him.

Drafting Gerhart at RB2. Believed a liftle bit of hype last week but still wasn't comfortable saying his name and have regretted it a little more each day. Had a choice of him, LBell, Bush, Stacy, Jennings, Matthews or Patterson. No RB murderers row IMO, probably like Matthews more but cost me Cordarrelle which makes me feel worse about Toby. And plus it's Toby Gerhart.

I waited on RB. Behind LBell and Stacy, I have Lamar Miller, Terrance West, and Pierce. Luckily it's a 1RB/2WR/2Flex so I should be able to manage it

Draft torpedoed!

I got him late in one draft too and completely regretting it, even in the 9th. He's the definition of a lineup killer. Even Sproles, with limited snaps and a down season, outscored him last year by 3 PPG. Pathetic.

Dynasty draft here - took Landry in the third round, when Andre Williams was still on the board.

I'm a Giants fan and just couldn't pull the trigger at the time. I ended up getting Hyde and Cooks in the first round, so I'm not too upset, but still, ugh.

Jeffrey dropped to Round 5? I'd consider that very lucky.

First auction, ran out of money before I got a second receiver. Andrew Hawkins is now a starter for my squad.

I do have 7 running backs though.

Don't feel great about QB in my 14 team 3 player keeper PPR league.

Almost took Foles at 2.06 (equates to 5.06 because of keepers) but I decided to wait on QB on grabbed Andre Johnson as my WR2.

I wanted Wilson but settled for Romo a number of rounds later.

OK with it, but panicked a few rounds later and backed him up with Tannahill.
I'm now regretting not grabbing Roddy White instead of AJ as my WR2.

I think AJ is good enough that he can still produce with crap at QB, but I think Roddy is crazy undervalued right now.

1) One of my main philosophies is to have as many players from potent NFL offenses as possible. DEN, NO, GB, NE, CHI, etc...for whatever reason I didn't end up with many of those guys on my team. I

2) I regret following up my Arian Foster pick with CJ Spiller. I like both players, but I think it's a little risky to hope both stay healthy. I don't know. If Foster is healthy I might run the league. Time will tell.

I ended up having one of my worst drafts ever. First off, I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice that Jimmy Graham was still available at the #15 pick. I took Dez Bryant over him which I regretted as soon as Graham went off the board on the very next pick. In rounds 3 and 4 I took Keenan Allen and Roddy White. Those are solid picks, but unfortunately everyone else in the draft loaded early up on QB's, RB's, and TE's. When I finally got to my fifth round pick, there were very few RB's and TE's left but tons of WR's. This is why it is probably best not to load up on too many players at one position. I was then forced to reach on subpar RB's like Joique Bell and Steven Jackson. As if that draft wasn't bad enough, I waited too long for a QB and got stuck with Ben Roethlisberger as my starter (Matt Ryan, Tony Romo, and Tom Brady went in the picks right before me).

Unfortunately this is my team in a 12 team league:

QB: B. Roethlisberger, C. Palmer

RB: M. Ball, J. Bell, S. Jackson, J. Hill, M. Ingraham, K. Davis, R. Grimes

WR: D. Bryant, K. Allen, R. White

TE: K. Rudolph, H. Miller

K: D. Bailey

DEF: Denver

Somehow, in spite of the fact I had him last year and knew exactly what I was in for if I did it, found myself uttering the words, "I'll take Robert Griffin III."

It was in the 13th round and the value was too good to ignore, but still...

Decided I was going to take an AZ receiver. Both were on the board. Clicked on the wrong one.

Ended up with Floyd instead of Fitzgerald. :Bagonhead: :sitsunderatree:

So every year I'm typically commish and wind up drafting for no shows(insert excuse why they can't call in here)

OR

I have to put up the stickers on the draft board for those that call in. This takes away my focus during the draft which sucks.

So, this year I decide to not be commish and my best buddy can't call in because he's getting on a flight. So he begs me to draft for him the day of the draft. Fing Turd. He's #7 and I'm #5.

Also, this year I'm entering picks for everyone on my iPad as we go on my draft tool, so that complicated it more.

Next year I'm flying solo and screw everyone else. :wall: No more regrets!

I hate to be that guy, but not enough not to. Is this a money league?

Can you flex your TE?

Yes couple thousand total

And you drafted for another owner? Or just input his picks for him?

This is easy. I took Julius Thomas in the third when I had taken Graham in the first, I thought the flex spot allowed a TE, but it's RB/WR only, a fact I realized about 1.5 seconds after I pulled the trigger...and I still had like 25 seconds on the clock.

To make matters worse I had stupidly drafted Peyton in the early 2nd.

Then to put the cherry on top I wasn't patient in shopping the TE's and was set on trading Graham instead of Julius for some reason and I basically ended up trading Graham for Julio.

Nothing big in any other leagues though.
