What's going on at Berkeley? (1 Viewer)

From the article. One of these doesn't seem to fit: After all, many of the groups that fought one another with fists, M-80s, pepper spray, sticks, and bagels.
I would guess the right are using the fists, M-80's and sticks and the left are using the pepper spray and bagels...

I've been told a few times they have the best bagels in California there. So obviously both the   alt-Right boys and the Antifa dudes had breakfast beforehand, probably side by side, no doubt took some to go, and...well, things happen.
'Everyone got their stick, pepper spray and bagels?....CHARGE!!!!!!!!!

all millennials are all-knowing and all-entitled? Nice over generalization
It's a joke not a d*** bud, don't take it so hard. You've been around here for a while, you know how a large (read: older) portion here are. I'm a millennial myself. "R-E-L-A-X".

She was invited
I get that.  I'm not blaming her for accepting a speaking bid since that's a good business move.  I also wasn't being literal.  I suppose if I was, my question would then be directed at the college for bringing in somebody I don't find interesting or even thought-provoking (again, in contrast to somebody like Milo, who is, at least, interesting and a good speaker).

According to the article, the Domigo guy (blond dude who punches hippie chick) is a former marine.
Oh yeah, the article also states that he's formed a group called "Identity Avropa" which is a white supremacist group whose stated goal is to basically cause civil unrest in the hope of reverting society back to the days where whites overtly ran the show.

Without watching any video, I would put my ? on the retired vets and the far right extremist. Of course there must be a whole lot more the extreme left in Berkeley.
I was thinking the same thing. A lot of puny leftists are gonna get their faces broken but they will eventually overwhelm the righties with numbers.

2 pages and not a single attempt to answer the OPs question.   Pretty strong.
i'll give it a rip:

worry about protests at Berkeley? only if you're attending one, and have convinced yourself that there won't be violence. there's a community of ideology in Berkeley, and not to put too fine a point on it: Left is right and Right is wrong. if some Pro-Trump folks are going to show up in the middle of one of, if not the most, progressive cities in the country and think that their message won't be be met with aggressive resistance they were wildly mistaken.

this little dance with continue, with extremists from both sides antagonizing each other to the point of violent action. the Berkeley police will continue with their [unstated] policy of non-intervention with regard to violent actors. trash cans will burn, light stanchions will be immolated, black-garbed thugs will throw bottles, rocks, fireworks, and pepper spray to those who they feel deserve it the most. the only way this cycle ends, is if LE steps in and shuts it down (not likely) and/or someone is murdered (even then, not likely).

Sounds like a poll question:

10 neonazis vs 10 neonazis' weight in hippie chicks. Likely to work out about he same as the classic Santas vs Penguins battle.

Well the Vet could still be anti-American.  Being a veteran doesn't mean the guy is automatically a "good American".
guy at work telling me about Matt Kuchar (golfer) handing his ball to a kid after making a hole-in-one at the Masters

"i called my boys in and i rewound the broadcast so that they could watch what he did. and i told them, that guy is a great guy. that is a guy you should idolize. that's what sports is about. that's what being a good person does. he should be your hero, not some football player. this is why i love golf. all these guys are great guys."

so i asked, what do you know about this guy beyond his golf career................ "uh, nothing, i guess. i just know he's a great guy. he gave that ball to a kid. that's all i need to know that he's a great guy."

OK

White supremacists that punch college chicks. That's fantastic.

I get what you're saying.

But I also like that your friend is trying to get his kids to look up to guys like Kuch instead of dudes that touchdown dance and grab their **** for the cameras

kinda making my point here

we don't know anything about either other than one plays golf and the other plays football.

better to advise your kids to look up to people they actually know instead of making up beliefs about someone based solely on appearance.

Right, in a perfect world.

Kids look up to sports figures in the real world

Whites are severely underrepresented in our political and business leadership.

no, wait, the other thing...

I don't understand that confrontation one bit.  I'm kind of fascinated.  What was the white kid yelling about?  What was the black guy yelling at the white kid about?  What is everybody doing?

Frankly, I don't understand any of this.  I especially don't understand why these college students are giving Coulter (and Milo before her) EXACTLY what they want, which is publicity.  Just let her speak, ignore her speech, don't go, don't fight, don't make a scene, and she will be gone and forgotten in a week.  Good grief, are there any adults over there?

I'm with you.  I didn't understand that exchange at all.  If there was an ignore function for Milo and Coulter we would all be better for it.
