Drink 4 to 6 cups of black coffee a day during my commute and at work. Some weekend days I just forget to make it.

Will also go 3-5 days without if camping of something.

ETA: I didn't start drinking coffee until I was 40. Very few of my friends (even older ones) drink coffee.
What made you start drinking so late in life?

My drug of choice is Coke Zero (though I may actually prefer Dr Pepper Zero, just not as available). At work we calculated how much I drink per day, and it was shocking. Depending on how many refills I get per day, it is between 4-5 Liters. That sounds like a lot but you can get there pretty quickly.
Umm…..dude that’s a lot
Yeah, if a gallon of water was rough, I can’t imagine how painful that much carbonation would be.

I drink 2-3 Coke Zeros per day, plus will sometimes have 1-2 without caffeine (am in process of shifting entirely to water). All the caffeine and carbonation would destroy my stomach. Corporation is tough as nails.

Dude.

Let's see...just bought a Moccamaster, you can look those up but they aren't cheap, however they cost a fraction of a La Marzocco which starts at $6k and runs over $10k for certain models, anyone that has one in here is either a coffee addict or has more money than I do (not hard to achieve) , let's be honest about who the real addicts are.

At first, I thought the Moccamaster was a little overrated but I give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars now, well worth the money and I simply don't buy much coffee away from the house. I'll buy the beans and whatnot but I tend to not buy cups of coffee outside my house, that has to offset some of the money on the Moccamaster

Orange by the way(Mrs), I wanted fire engine red but it looks pretty against the backdrop of my banana yellow kitchen.
Hell yes, i'm an addict, just like most other vices I have

Organic half n half, no sugar whatsoever, can't stand sugar in coffee

I'm sorry liters? Did you mean maybe pints?

4-5 liters is an absolute ton. At ~33 ounces/liter, and consider there's roughly 3 traditional sodas (12 ounce cans) in a liter, estimating high there but low on saying 4 liters you're drinking a 12 pack of soda a day. That's a massive amount. Personally, only guy I ever heard of in my 40 years of existence who got close to that was a physics teacher I had in high school who drank like a case of diet mountain dew and he kind of had a screw loose (e.g. he was on felony probation for a white collar crime, he was a millionaire, he wore a winter coat in 80 degree weather, etc.).

Until recently, I would drink a 44oz Big Gulp and a 6 pack of 16.8 oz bottles per day. That's over 4 liters. Just sayin'

Sugar is a weird thing to me in coffee.

We grind our own beans at home and my wife hates bad coffee so the entire process is something we spend money on. Our home coffee I hate sugar or anything sweet near it.

If I grab a coffee at Dunkin I have to have sugar in it, probably because their coffee sucks. Though it's better, to me, then what Starbucks calls coffee. Swill.

Restaurants, no sugar. Wawa....usually no sugar but if I'm forced to use flavored creamer...ok, whatever.

I voted no.

I quit drinking coffee a few years ago and switched to green tea, no sugar. It has a much lower caffeine content and doesn't trigger heartburn for me.

I usually only drink tea 4-5 days a week.
It’s still the caffeine you crave. I vote addicted.

Oh my.

Like, why?

I have a big cup in the AM... 9-10ish and occasionally another around 3 if I'm exhausted.

if I don't have it, the head-ache and crankiness is intense.

I know from previous experience, it's about 4-5 days to get past that... so yeah- addicted.

I got through undergrad, architecture grad school and several years of 100+ hour weeks of first-job-itis... never had coffee.

a week into our first kid being born (I was pushing 40)- I was a junkie.

Similar caffeine-free experience through school/training, including some 120+ hour work weeks.

Never had kids, but suspect the complete unpredictability of sleep interruptions makes the deprivation harder.

I thought I had sleep deprivation nailed down shut. grad-school into my first couple years of working... pretty routine to go 2, sometimes 3 nights without sleeping.

but I realized pretty quickly- every now and then I could sleep or shut down for a few days and recharge. with the 1st kid, that didn't exist.

Yeah I meant liters unfortunately. In a 44 oz cup with the amount of ice I get, we measured that I was getting 27 ounces per refill. I would get 4 or 5 refills per day, and would have a can on the way into work and 2-3 cans at home at night. I know it’s too much, but I don’t have other vices such as alcohol and tobacco. I’m in relatively good health and I just like the taste. I gave it up for 2 weeks one time to show I could and did not suffer from the expected side effects with caffeine withdrawal.

Coke Zero, other caffeinated sodas, have very little caffeine compared to coffee, energy drinks, some teas. Your 5 liters comes to about 475 miligrams of caffeine daily. Thats 3-4 cups of coffee. A caffeine pill is 200mg. Energy drinks are typically between 200-300mg.

It's the massive dose of artificial sweetener that worries me. I think your pushing lab rat study dosage levels.
