Youngest son and I got one when he turned 18 after we went through 3 tough high school years after wife/mother left us. I got a baseball player swinging a bat w/ EKG lines extending from his feet with the names of both of my boys in script underneath it (who played/play baseball in HS and college) on the underside of my right wrist. Maybe 2"X2".

He got "Que Sera Sera" on the back of his left forearm (always the arm that you don't throw with for some reason).

I kinda want to have a tattoo artist put a dot in between one of my toes just to say I have one. Otherwise, no - never saw any art that I really wanted permanently attached. And I really don't want a blurry mess in 20 years.

Wife has a few

Considered it when I was younger but Just never had anything I wanted permanently

same same

wife has four small tatoos
  • interwoven vines in the shape of a cross on right shoulder
  • pink orchid on left ankle
  • permanent eyeliner on both eyes
the latter took me months to realize when we were dating- I had no idea that was a thing?

I just thought "I like that she doesn't wear much makeup...but man her eyeliner game is on point" lol

I wouldn’t think this is the demographic for tattoos. Maybe a poll of those with grown children. Do they have tatoos?

Nope. When I was young, my dad told me that for every tattoo and piercing I got he'd remove one of my testicles. Stuck with me. Still have both.
i came home from college my freshman year with an ear ring....... Dad was NOT happy .... fem

I have 9 sibs and 7 in-laws and I am one of two not to have ink on my body. Most of my nieces and nephews have tats as well.

I was headed to a tattoo parlor back when I was 21 (had a Phoenix drawn up and ready) but chose to go somewhere else that day. A few months later I started dating a girl who hates tattoos. I ended up marrying her so still no. I’m not sure if I’d have gotten one if I didn’t marry her but i don’t really want one now anyway.

When I lost my daughter, getting a tattoo of her beautiful face was one of the most healing moments for me. I know you also lost your boy. Did you ever think about getting a memorial of him tattooed?
Never really thought about it. Not really my style, so probably wouldn't consider it.

Where is your tattoo?

Cool. Do you have pics?

My wife and I are no's. Three of our five kids have multiple. I never found them attractive. At this point, I wouldn't say one or two small ones would really bother me. But I know some people that are covered with them (and IMO, they just look ridiculous).

A guy I went to school with got his head tattooed where he went bald on top so it looks like he has a young man’s hairline in the front and back. Looks like a buzz cut.

Good tattoos done by a pro don’t look like a blob after 20 or even 50 years. Unless you’re in direct sun for most of those years but so does the rest of you. Because I cover mine and use lotion, mine look damn close if not exactly the way they did 10-25 years ago.

Most tattoos look like crap because people just get random stuff and/a lot of people who get tattoos really don’t GAF.

I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that but it isn’t for me. I have a rule. If I think of an idea for a tattoo I wait at least a year. I write it down, take a picture, whatever. If I still want it a year or years later, I’ll consider it.

Here’s “one” I got for my Grandfather. That picture is pretty old and Imjur was having issues with the original so it might be grainy.

also surprised at the results. My wife and I often think we are the only 2 adults in our age range w/o them.

I've been thinking about getting one recently b/c WTF? I made it this far right? Plus there are some amazing artists out there now. I def feel like if I was to get one 20-30 years ago I would have regretted it now.

I'm just waiting for my kids to get theirs b/c I dont think I know anyone under 25 w/o one. I just stress that its not anything or anywhere stupid that they might regret.

As someone in the art field professionally, I place a lot of importance on the artwork and its meaning. Personally, I cringe looking at people who look like they rolled around in a stamp factory and just have random designs all over their bodies. On the flip side, a nicely done sleeve, where elements are working together and tell a story is amazing to look at.

That's some crazy good work right there. Whoever your guy is has some talent

This is what I did. I actually took about 2-3 years before I finally committed.

I kind of want to get another one, have some thoughts, but will be a while before I finalize and then sleep on it a while.

I got this big tribal/celtic knot thingy on my back about 25-30 years ago. I'm neither proud of nor regret it. Most of the time I forget it is there. If I were to do it again, I'd probably put more thought into it. I literally walked into a tattoo shop with a buddy, looked at a bunch of designs, and found one I thought looked cool. I was in the chair ten minutes later.

No tattoos.

I am not opposed, but have no idea what I would get a tattoo of, although it would probably be fishing, skiing, or family related.

No. Almost totally opposed and I think that people that randomly tattoo themselves with no rhyme or reason have committed an act of body desecration.

And I don't care how old or weird that makes me sound. I see people with desecrated bodies everywhere. Especially the ones with metal all over their face. You've puncturing sensitive areas that were the Lord's work, folks. It causes me pain to have to look at some of the people who have gone out of their way to draw attention to their own pain.

idk - most of my crew fell for the 90s wire/tribal bands ,,,,,,,,,,,

Sup man.... :)

No tats or piercings.
Have seen some nice stuff on others but have never been inspired to get my own.
