What's the best IDP single game performance you've ever had? (1 Viewer)

We all talk strategy so much this time of year, I thought it might be a fun break to reminisce on the greatest single game IDP contribution you've ever gotten from a player on your roster.

Unfortunately I can't seem to dig up the boxscore, but on opening day 1998 I had Michael Strahan going up against the Redskins. Strahan went off. I think he had two sacks, he picked off a pass and then rumbled 24 yards for a TD and he had his usual compliment of 4 tackles. I believe he also forced a fumble but at the time my league didn't award points for this. Its been a while but if I recall that was approximately a 25 point effort from big 'ol Mike.

I know Ed Reed made some owners happy a couple fo years ago.

I had Darren Sharper going against me last year when the Giants played Minnesota :X

I'm more fond of my long-time consistent studs.

Guys like Leroy Butler. Hardy Nickerson. Jessie Tuggle. The Inbreeder Ring of Honor. The torch bearers of the "an IDP league is not a complete crapshoot" argument.

:football:

Of course, I'll never forget Todd Freaking Heap last year. Never.

:pickle:

Derrick Thomas vs Seattle, can't remember what year or exact box score. He had something like 8 solos and 7 sacks

forgot about that... there definitely haven't been any 7 INT games... in some scoring systems, that would be like a 60 POINT GAME!might be better than fabled 6 TD game for skill positions, like sayers & marino career best games...that is why i like more heavily weighted IDP leagues, giving the premier IDP playmakers nearly equal weight to elite players on offense.

the game where Haggans went off for Pitt last yr..scored something like 30+pts against me and that was my only regular season loss too

deon sanders had some ######ed games in his prime.. no consistancy though..

he would have 3 games in a row with like 2 fantasy points then have like 47

I faced Thomas that day. :wall: And dadburnit, I cannot think of a name. Giants OLB circa 96-98. Came from The U, I believe. When I think of his name, I come up with JJ Arrington. lol

I picked him up on waivers the morning of a game. He recorded three sacks, a fumble recovery for a TD and an interception for a TD along with a heavy dose of tackles. It was crazy and hilarious because he was in free agency. Ahhh! I should never forget this name-- he was a favorite. I'm suffering from info overload leading up to an IDP draft tonight. Help?

I remember back in 87/88 I had a little know MLB out of KC, Dino Hackett. Now ole Hackett, prolly wasn't known much outside of KC fans and the IDP world, but anyway ... I was watching, (I think a Thanksgiving Day game), and I had Dino with maybe 4-5 solos and a assists or two. In USA Today the following day he was something like 10-2-0. I was  and actually had a couple of other owners who watched the game complained it had to be a misprint or something :lmao: I guess Dino's mom was doing the scoring that day ;) . Dino had a couple of real nice years before quickly fading into the suset.

Back about the same time , we had an owner listening to an Indy game on radio, he had Indy LB Cliff Odom. He was hearing Odom in on all these tackles, but next day in the paper he didn't have stat. He went as far as to call the USA Today and the Indianapolis Colts to try and get it corrected. If I rememer correctly, USA Today told him they get there stats from Elias and the Colts told him the tackle scoring was done by the local sports writers and with it not being an official stat there was nothing that could be done. I beleive he called or tried to, Elias as well.

It was a Monday night game last year (Ravens vs Packers) and I was down something like 45+ points. I had Todd Heap and Adalius Thomas going for me. I assumed I was done before the kick off. I know this is IDP thread but I had a big game out of Heap, 2TDs and like 100 yds or something but still down a good chunk, 25+. A. Thomas was sitting at like 3 tackles and was just looking so slow. The Pack replaces Favre with A. Rodgers and BOOM (Madden!) A. Thomas comes around the corner and pulls of what our league calls the Golden Sombrero: Sack, FF, FR, & TD! Instant win and a pissed off good friend!!

I remember jumping through the Elias hoops to try and rectify USA Today. Never worked. But the next week, USA Today, had the corrected stats in the players YTD data. So, I had to form my argument based on several weeks of newspapers to prove the missing FF points were in the season total, but not the weekly, which was the wrong one. :yucky:

There was a day back when where we used to use USA Today to score. In a misprint Jon Holocek of the Bills was credited with 99-9-0. :-) I can't remember what we agreed on.There was also McKinnon's 4 INT's and Pepper Johnson's 4-4-4.

After 13 yrs of IDP, there are too many to come up with but one that I was very proud of was David Thornton about three years ago. FBG had been pimping him for a bit and I the Colts were playing NO on ESPN that week. I picked him and started him - his debut for me was 18-0-0.

Several years back Derrick Brooks went 19-5-0 with a forced fumble against the Bills. It was back when Travis Henry was in his hey day.

A little further back, MLB Eric Hill of the Cardinals went 19-2-0 against Dallas.

That was on Veteran's Day, 1990. Against Seattle and Dave Krieg. In week 2 of 2002, Joey Porter had 7 tkl, 1 asst., 3 sacks, 2 int's and 114 int. return yards.
FYI Seattle won that game, Thomas was close to getting krieg on the last play of game but Krieg got it off fr the game winniing TD. That was a great game....seahawk fan here.

Last year was my first in fantasy football and I was playing in an IDP league that also awarded points for return yards. I was lucky to have Terrence McGee. Late in the season, during my league playoffs I think, he had a ridiculous game where he had 6-7 solos and an interception return for a TD as well as like 200+ return yards and kor for a TD. All tolled he had 30+ pts, which in our league was nearly unheard of.

I remember Thomas just missing his 8th sack, forgot it was the same play as the game winning TD.

We do 1pt/tackle, 5pts/sack, 6pts/int and 5pts/fumble recovery....plus 6 points per TD. Since 2001, from what I could find, the best IDP game was by Donnie Edwards in Week 14 of the 2004 season. He scored 34 points on 16 tackles, 2 INT with one of them being for a TD. We have had a few other guys in the 30's and many in the 20's. The top season IDP was Ray Lewis in 2003 (I think) where he scored 223 points to rank #23 in scoring overall.

You made me open up the archives for our league. I don't have the box scores, but our scoring is 1 pt per UT, .5 pt per AT, 2 pt per sack (first 2 sacks, 3 pts each addl sack), 2 pt for safety, 2 pt for int, 6 pts per td.

Since 1994 -

DL - Alex Bown, 2004 Wk 8 - 18 points

LB - Ken Norton, 1995 Wk 8 - 23 points

DB - Eric Turner, 1994 Wk 3 - 18 points

None of these guys were on my roster unfortunately. My highest scores:

DL - Rob Burnett, 1995 Week 9 - 15 points

LB - Derrick Brooks, 1996 Week 3 - 21 points

DB - Jay Bellamy, 2000 Week 2 - 18 points

I had Hill in that game. For a couple of seasons in the mid-90's he was great. I also had Brooks have a monster game - but it was against me. Sunday night game vs. Denver, he was 4-0-0 at the half, so I tuned it out thinking I was fine. Woke up the next day and he finished with 18 solos!

three season ago, in my initial yr taking over a team in dynasty wars ( fbg v huddle ). i made a deal at the deadline for one willie mcginnest, who at the time had def line eligibility, and wouldnt you know it in the title game against the same owner i got him from, he went off for 31 pts as a def lineman. our scoring is pretty standard IDP scoring and this was by far the biggest game by a def lineman ever in that league. thanks for the title willie, GB .

ahhh good days.........

I won my title last year from the week 16 performances from Terrence McGee and Julius Peppers.

Peppers:

1 Passes Defensed, 6 Tackles, 2 Assists, 3.0 Sacked a QB, 1 Blocked Field Goals

20.00 Subtotal

McGee:

1 Kickoff Return TDs, 220 Kickoff Return Yards, 1 Interception Return TDs, 46 Interception Return Yards, 1 Interceptions, 1 Passes Defensed, 3 Tackles, 1 Assists

29.60 Subtotal

I had McGee in that game as well, plus Charles Tillman who had a great game in Week 16 last year......unfortunately, the rest of my team did little (plus I had to start TJ Duckett in the finals!!!) so I lost.
