January - February are okay, somewhat chilly but in the South it's nice

March madness and it starts to get nicer, days get longer. Almost perfect weather, but it tends to rain more.

April and May are pollen season

June - August are abysmal but we enjoy the lake, pool and local waterpark. School starts in August so that's good and bad

September starts to get decent, October is too but it starts getting dark too early.

November - December are good weather wise and the holidays are fun with the kids. Hectic but fun

1. March

2. December

3. June

November, two week vacation just in time to return Thankgiving  :football:

Like summer and hot but I'm always working. Vacation is always somewhere warm, after hurricane season and before holiday season. After retirement it will be June-July-August for sure.

This is more a female thing, no?  Only guy I know who does this is gay.
No, not even leading to 50. Of course that sucked as that's when I was diagnosed with bc. Tomorrow is my bday. Only reason I remembered is fam from Iran texted me hbd as they are a day ahead.

Some good thought put into this response.  Much respect!

My dad is the only adult male that ever made anything out of this birthday.  Whenever the first rolled around, he would say January January January! in this obnoxious voice to remind us all that his birthday was coming up.  Once, as a resistant teen, I told him it annoyed me, and that if he said it again I wasn't getting him a present.  Instead of doing what he should of done (slapped me), it just continued to say it to me constantly.  Being the stubborn mule I am, I didn't get him a present.  I felt bad when he was opening presents from everyone, but he never said anything to me.  He probably knew how bad I felt.  Our relationship steadily went down from there, and we are merely cordial these days.  Looking back, as an adult, he probably liked making a big deal about his birthday because his childhood was rotten growing up in what was probably near poverty, and two alcoholic parents.  He now had a good family and probably like celebrating life with us.

Long story short, January is not my favorite month.
Man this post made me really sad.

Why not call him and express this to him?

Month power rankings:

1. October (easily)

2. November (Thanksgiving best holiday)

3. December (always fun)

4. March (Florida weather amazing)

5. January (weather in Florida really good)

6. September (football back)

7. February (uhhhh weather still nice)

8. April (pretty boring)

9-12. May - August. All can suck my ####.

I voted for June -- you can still get in 9 holes of golf after work, and it's not too hot.

My least favorite months are November and December -- always cold, always wet, always cloudy. At least January and February tend to clear up a bit, even if it's still cold out.

My seasonal tiers

June, October

July, September

December, May

August, November, April

March, Jan, Feb

Buy him a belated, thoughtful, sentimental gift next birthday.

Never too late to make amends.  Till it is too late.

It’s my favorite day of the year. I think you don’t appreciate it as much as a kid but as I get older it means a lot to me to have all the family come together for a weekend.
In most areas fairly mild climate. 3 NFL games to watch. Nothing wrong with what has been called Turkey Day.

I'm surprised at the large support for October. Other than Halloween there's not much it offers me in Portland OR.

I am looking at this through the lens of weather and family activities.

I chose July. This is the best weather month in Oregon, usually very blue skies and 80-90 degrees. This means lots of family time in our pool, BBQ, friends coming over, golf after work, lots of daylight to get projects done, driving to work at 5:30-6 am in sunlight, beautiful flowers and everything green in the neighborhood, family vacation, golf tournament in Coeur d'Alene every year, driving with the windows down, getting tan, late dinners outside, nighttime s'mores at the firepit, 4th of July celebration, several family birthdays, the ice cream man making the rounds and being able to walk around in sandles and t-shirt.

October is the most depressing here, you lose a ton of daylight, have leaves piling up everywhere including your gutters and roof, rainy season in full swing and gets chilly. I guess sports is good. But that's it.

October is dry here. Rain/wind generally doesn't ramp up until at least closer to November. Uncomfortably hot/humid days are over. Doesn't get much better around here than mid Sep-mid Oct.

More proof of just how old this place has become.  The correct answer is one of the summer months.   Women walk around with little on and there is pool time with women in bikinis.  Many of us take time off during the summer to go on vacation.   I'm going with July

But, September and October are awesome months for all the reasons mentioned.

I live in Florida where women do that 11 months out of the year.

I'm sure he's forgotten about the whole thing.  He's 74 now, and doesn't have the same memory.  This wasn't even the stupidest thing I ever did as a kid.  I had another moment of extreme selfishness and lack of gratitude as a middle schooler.  A few years ago, I reminded him of that story and told him how bad I've felt about it since.  He had no memory of it.  I'm sure he has no memory of this and it wouldn't even be ripping the scab off, it would be cutting open scar tissue that is already healed (from his point of view).
