What's the male equivalent of a woman's sun dress? (1 Viewer)

uAnything from Nike or Under Armor...it's the only stuff that fits as all other men's clothing is made by metrosexuals who think XL means 6'5" 180 pounds...

Sweet Jesus - did you catch teh Aids?
Nope, just stopped eating sugar and cut way back on beer.  It's amazing how the pounds melt off.  I have a pretty slight frame so somewhere between 170-180 is about the best walking-around weight for me.  I floated between 200-235 for several years because I just ate whatever the F I wanted and drank alcohol 3-4 times a week, now I try to maintain a decent diet (still working on this) and exercise now and again, cut the drinking back to 1-2 days a month and stopped drinking soda and eating desserts altogether.

nice

i'm 6' 170 these days consistently ... doing likewise, but still enjoying beer once a week.

it's discipline and desire, not rocket surgery

Good for you, sir.

I have a buddy who really got into eating health, and he said this is the only rule that matters.  There's other stuff that is important for weight loss and physical health, but this is #1, by far.

Stop eating sugar, body uses fat as energy.  It is really that simple.

Answer to original question:

Crisp white T, nice jeans, and decent shoes.  Most guys #### this up with terrible shoes.

It really is.  I know some people have genetic issues to overcome and it isn't this cut-and-dried, but for someone like me who was born with an ectomorphic frame, there was no excuse but lack of discipline to be walking around at 230 lbs.  I attribute at least 30 pounds of weight loss simply to the removal of Lucky Charms, Coca-Cola, and Ben & Jerry's from my life.  The rest is portion control (most of the time,) decreased beer intake and 20-30 minutes of swimming or biking 4-5 times a week.

Refined sugar and complex carbohydrates.  Limit or remove those and the rest is cream cheese, as Coach Finstock once said.

I have a feeling if you looked through the curlyboards, they do not have a thread asking "what is the female's equivalent to mens gym wear, they can just throw that stuff on and always look like a million bucks!"

I'm wearing a Nike golf shirt in XL right now as I type this.

You're 6-2, 176lbs and wearing an XL shirt?!?  Medium is what you should be in. I'm sure you're drowning in that thing.
I wear XL in some brands and L in others.  I think this one is an XL, but I can't see the "tag." It's probably a little big, but again, I care more about comfort than appearance so I tend to wear clothes a little big/slightly baggy.  Definitely not swimming in it, though.  In a medium, I'd look like an about-to-explode bratwurst.

To this end, based purely on my height/weight numbers, what size suit do you think would be the right fit for me?

In Seattle, 68º is summer, and a navy blazer is overdressed most of the time.

The downside is we don't see a lot of hotties rocking skimpy sundresses.

You're 2" taller and 5lbs heavier than me so probably 31/32 pants, 40 jacket?
See, that's not even close.  44 REG jacket - and I'm not drowning in that.  I went to Brooks Brothers a few months ago and bought a brand new tailored suit and the guy put a 44R jacket on me and said that I was "the most natural 44 regular [he had] ever seen."  Needed no alteration whatsoever.  Pants that came with that suit off the rack were a 38 waist, which was too big, he probably took the waist in about 2 - 2 1/2".  So my pants size is about 35/34 and a 44R jacket, which is nowhere close to where most height/weight charts would give you for my stats (that would be much closer to what you posted.)

Point being, everyone's built differently so there's no clear-cut size you "should" wear based on #s.

You're right, but you seem underweight based on those dimensions.  Are you an amputee?

I wouldn't necessarily say underweight, I'm definitely slighter of build than many.  Picture Michael Phelps with less muscle definition.  If I was ripped/in good shape, I'd probably gain a little weight because muscle is heavier than fat.  If I lost the belly roll and tacked on some muscle, I'd probably be more like 185-190.  That's about what I weighed when I was in really good physical shape back in my late teens-early 20s and played football, basketball, swam, ran, etc.
