What's up with Abram Elam (1 Viewer)

Jedi Knight

He was solid the first three weeks. The last two, I noticed Mike Adams scoring as well or better. Are they splitting time?

Uh oh, that's bad news. I was asusming that his bad score was simply a function of not facing many plays that ended in a tackle. But, looking back at it, Elam faced an above average 51 chances to make a tackle...not good!

Elam is coming off in some nickel and dime packages (Poteat is replacing him), but he's still playing on running downs. I'll continue to make the argument that there's nothing different with Elam than there was last season. He's playing the same position in the same scheme with more or less the same so-so surrounding cast and just a little more tackle opportunity than last season -- a season in which he couldn't top 60 solos. There were many more marginal tackle games than solid ones last season. Expect him, especially now that his nickel playing time is in question, to be an inconsistent DB3.

Furrey's replacing him in some packages too, but the point remains the same. Elam's no longer an every down threat.

I noticed elam scores when the browns get blown out, because he is a run stopper and thats all the teams do with the lead. I don't hate cleveland i am from ohio but please since elam is on my team get killed the rest of the season i swear i will drop him and stay away next year :goodposting:

:lmao: While Elam split time in Week 4, he played 100% of the snaps in Week 5.

I saw that today. I swear he was off the field toward the end of the game.
