Remember back in the '80s and '90s when you would see people with a front-end bra on their car?

Why?

They looked dumb but I think they originally were for protection against rocks that get kicked up and chip your paint.

Sooooo.....having a stupid-looking black bra on the front was a better option?

I have a feeling that some OEM manufacturer probably came up with the idea to sell more product and convince people it was needed.

Car bras are like the Hallmark holidays of the automobile industry.

My parents always had the bra on the car. Agree it's silly. They would also do things like buy really nice sofas and other furniture for the living room, and then cover them with old bed sheets to protect them.
