I ordered the RedZone channel for week 2 and love it. It brings all the games to you when teams are in the redzone and gives you heads up from other games and (here comes the best part) NO Commercials!!! Just straight Football. Only 5 dollars (Comcast South Florida) it comes with alot of other channels as well. And no i dont work for the channel or anything lol. just sayin

This is my 2nd year and I love it. And if there is a specific game I want to watch, it's a great channel to change to during commercials.

I've had it with the Sunday Ticket for a couple of years and I watch the RZC more than anything else. Now that it's available without Sunday Ticket I'm tempted to only order the RZC since the Colts are on at Prime Time a lot anyway. The RZC is a fantasy player's paradise.

Is this free if you already have NFL network? What channel is it on...the regular NFL network? I have Directv.

Its a different channel. I have comcast and its on the sports tier with NFL network and some ESPN channels. I love it. I am just outside the blackout zone for the Saints, so I get all their games. Other than that, I have been watching Redzone.

It's great, but it is one of the great tragedy's of the modern era that it is not yet in HD. Someone get on that, please!

This is the first season since 2003 or so that I didn't buy Sunday Ticket. Not really sure why I didn't buy it, just never got around to it and eventually decided not to bother with it. But I've been considering getting the Red Zone Channel these past couple of weeks. Is it $5 for the entire season? If so, I think I'll definitely get it before Sunday.

It was free for a weekend on Comcast... best thing ever... I haven't had time to call to get it added but if its $5/week I'm in... it was awesome. Doesn't JUST show you redzone... shows you the plays that GOT the team to the redzone.. which is like highlights from the whole game! Totally rules.

i heard all the hype and was skeptical, until i watched it. IT'S AWESOME! i find myself watching it unless the Cowboys are playing or theres another game i really want to watch.

it's definately something every NFL fan should experience.

I had the ticket several years ago and just recently ordered the RZC. I'd have to say I actually enjoy the RZC a bit more.....and for $5? Can't beat that.

Sunday 1pm-7pm i am busy

Best thing ever (except not in HD)

It can't last

Its horrible, It forces me to go over to my buddys house to watch since I dont have it. The result is way too much beer being drank and feeling like crap at work on monday morning.

$5.99 per month for most provders, I think.I just tried RZC for the first time. It was great and I do expect the price to shoot way up next season. I do prefer my Sunday Ticket though. With RZC, I felt like I was missing things, even though I'm sure it as just 3 and outs and commercials I was missing. I got pretty annoyed at the game selection at times. I was livid with the amount of WAS/KC and CAR/TAM that was on when it seemed like they should've been showing BAL/MIN, NYG/NO, or CIN/HOU.I got the ST so that I wouldn't be forced to watch crappy games when there were much better options. Those are minor complaints though. RZC is about the best entertainment investment I could imagine.

This will deem Sunday Ticket worthless as soon as next season.

Everyone i know with Sunday Ticket is pissed since all they do is watch Redzone which is only $5 for the year.

It's the best thing that has happened to watching football ever.

I watched the free week and was hooked. Bought it for $5.99 a month on dish network and am thrilled to death. I can drop the package after 3 months, since all playoff games will be televised anyway and end up paying $18 for the season. What a steal. This network was designed for fantasy football players. The biggest advantage I have noticed so far is that I am not constantly on the computer on Sundays trying to figure out who scored for which games. You know everyone who has scored because Red Zone has already shown you. If you know your opponents starting lineup and your own, you have a good idea how your fantasy team is doing without checking in every 5 minutes. I think the channel is great and while I'm willing to pay a little more next year, I hope they don't make it ridiculously expensive like Sunday Ticket.

Someone got on it a couple of years ago... DirecTV's RZC is HD.
Comcast is in HD too, 254 in Chicago.
Really? Have looked for it in HD in Philly and not found it. Guess I'll have to double check. That would make me very happy.
HD in some Comcast systems, SD in others -- will eventually be HD in all (although perhaps not this year). Even out here in the Bay Area, some parts have it in HD and others (including me) have only SD so far.But I love it anyway!

Can anyone explain the difference between the RZC on the Ticket and the NFL Network version? I'd love to drop DTV if it's basically the same as all I do is watch the RZC on Sundays anyway.

TIA

If I didn't have Sunday Ticket for whatever reason, I'd be on NFLN's RZC like white on rice. It sounds great, especially for those who are used to just getting the local games.

That said, ShortCuts is the real reason to have ST. I set my Tivo & can watch every play of every game in my leisure. ShortCuts, alone, is worth the price of ST, IMO. I hope they never find out how much I'd actually be willing to pay for ST, LOL.

It is a saving grace for DISH network owners like myself. Especially when the local affiliate in Indy shows mismatches while the rest of the country gets the great game of the week (see - Steelers/Browns instead of Ravens/Vikings).

I'm also very curious what will happen with the price. On the one hand, people would pay much more for the product (I think anything under $20/month is way too cheap). On the other hand, pretty much every cable provider has it. That will keep the cost somewhat under control, unless they collude.

In the end, it'll have no choice but to get really expensive, I think. If the demand for this thing keeps growing as it should, it's hard not to imagine the NFL jacking the price charged to the cable providers way up.

Dissenting opinion . . .

it's good BUT I prefer watching different games as they happen - I like to watch two games at once and switch back and forth (cutting out commercials that way with Tivo) I tried RZC for a few min, but I don't like being at the mercy of a programmer, if I want to watch Colts-Jaga, I turn it there . . .

I will be getting AT&T U-verse...

I understand what the channel shows, but:

1. It costs around $5/month to add on?

2. It is only on Sunday from 1-7pm?

3. Any other programming on the show, or just the Sunday orgy-fest of live NFL scoring?

From my understanding, it is the same exact type of channel with different hosts. They follow all the action in the red zone, replay kicks (sometimes they are live) and will replay all scores. This is from my understanding - I have the Verizon RZC and love it.
You'll love it, wife won't.
:lmao: Are you assuming the wife already like the actual football game???I paid $50.00 for the season.....I Love it.. Part of me feels like I'm cheating the Game but, instant gratification wins out.
Ha, my gf has now joined the fantasy ranks and leaps off the couch when Ray Rice (she drafted him in the 5th, much to my chagrin). It was a battle, but she either had to accept my fanaticism or be left behind (not true, but dont tell her that). You're not cheating if you roll out a second tv. I watch the Jets on one and the RZC on the other. Jets are always in HD, otherwise the RZC is in HD. Just unreal, makes Sundays so much better. I will not pay more than $100 for a season though. I expect they know that and will double the price.

After the free preview that ran on AT&T Uverse a few weeks ago, I ordered it right up. It's $5/mo as part of the premium HD tier. I love it, as you get to see all of the games in some fashion, not just those where teams are in the red zone. As someone above posted, it's in HD on Uverse, channel 1629.

Have it with Comcast in HD. Love it. Never had Sunday Ticket. Considering I'd otherwise be forced to suffer through the local Redskins games, RZC is a god send this year.

Guys. The NFL Netword Redzone channel being discussed in this thread is NOT the same Redzone channel as the one offered by DirectTV. Directv DOES NOT offer the NFL Network channel. If you want the Directv Redzone channel you have to order the complete Sunday Ticket.

I don't watch this or anything else when the Jets are on except for commercials. But, I may have to rethink this. :lmao:

274. Assuming the digital channels are all the same in the area.If this goes to 100 no way I get it.But $5 a month and the ability to split my screen - RZ on one half, regualr game on t he other is :boxing:

I almost never watch the RZC on Sunday Ticket (watched no more than 20 minutes of it in the 2.5 seasons of having it available). If I didn't have ST, I wouldn't pay $6 a month for the RZC and probably would watch a lot less football than I do now -- depending on what game is on local TV.

I'd rather watch whatever game I'm most interested in that week. Sometimes, I flip between multiple games, but in those cases, I'm in control. If my team isn't on, then it's usually whatever game has the most fantasy league interest for me (and sometimes it's 2 or 3 games). I'm also more likely to put the DirecTV GameMix Channel on than the RZC.

I know a lot of people LOVE the RZC, but I'm not one of them.

Awesome product.

Awesome value.

Competes with DirecTV's Sunday Ticket which will allow every game (one at a time) or all games simultaneously 6 or 8 on your screen but is your screen big enough to watch them all in good quality? Probably not unless you've got a projection screen and the other way you can only watch one at a time.

Redzone is superior to Sunday Ticket for what I want. Not just at the price point but the product is superior.

I think it is good but could be better. I watch NFL all day Sunday. So I see the highlights as they are happening. What drives me crazy is that during the 2nd set of games they show replay forever! I can't stand it. I just know know now that I can switch over to a game when that happens. Another really cool thing is the DTV online deal. I have a game going on my laptop and then redzone on the big TV! It is so great.

Most of us love it because we don't have SUnday ticket and can't get it.

Just called in and AT&T U-Verse let's you add their High Def Premium package for $5/month (and it includes a couple other channels). This assumes you have the HD feature (which is $10/month).

im in the minority, but dont like it . if i want to watch highlights, ill watch later . i enjoy settling into 1 game and the stadium feel . so it feels like im at the game . all the "boring" parts are important in a game for me . when i watched redzone it it felt like i drank 10 cups of coffee and started growing a 3rd and 4th eye . yuck !

There are a bunch of different $ amounts being thrown around for how much this thing costs... How much does it cost for DirecTV customers?
