When a trade is vetoed inappropriately (1 Viewer)

My league vetoed a trade that was 100% fair and I am befudded. I could not even imagine why it would be vetoed by 1, let alone a majority of owners...

What do you all do when your league makes a horrible veto decision?

Obviously quitting is one option....

There are spiteful options (releasing all your players)

Lawyerly options (pleading your case)

Any better ideas?

(Background- 12 team redraft 1 QB/2 RB/3/WR... I received Kitna and gave up Lynch and Eli Manning.. I have Portis/Addai/LenDale/KJ so a RB was expendable and wanted to upgrade at QB)... it was vetoed by the masses for reasons I dont understand

The best option is to suck it up, gun for the championship, and not play in that league next year. Nothing would be better than winning and declaring that this league is not worth your time next year.

Regardless, no way would I play with those idiots next year. That's as fair a trade as they come.

:HEAVYSIGH:Check out all those league rules before you join. I would never get involved in a league where owners had veto rights.

Quit this year? No. Dump/quit? Worse. Plead your case/educate your league/constructvely gripe - It is a good way to start dialog/change some minds about majority veto leagues and what is a valid veto, but I doubt it will help you this time.

Find a different league next year if this is how they want to veto trades? Absolutely.

The same thing happened to me with a trade in one league a couple years ago. I posted the link to the forum website and there hasn't been a veto in the league since then. So 'education' about vetoes sometimes does work. Good luck!

This was absolutely a BULL#### veto.

You and the other owner should either:

a. Complain daily

b. Become non existant on the board

Dude, that really sucks. There's nothing wrong whatsoever with that trade. I can't suggest anything that hasn't already been suggested. Best advice anyone can offer you is to have as much info as possible about your commish before joining a league. If you don't physically know him/her, ask for some email references. Sounds gay, but any commish who takes the role seriously will have no problem giving you some reassurance about the league. And that's a league you will want to join.

Use it as lessons learned.

When owners have veto rights you really have a no trade league. All you can do is the same thing everyone else does. If their trade helps you, approve it. If it doesn't help you, veto it. That is how these leagues work.
